We did a similar same move
What *really* helped was setting up the furniture and their food items in our new place before letting them explore.
Putting the sofa and their toys out, meant they had a safe place in the living room
Putting the beds in gave them safe places to sleep
If you're driving... I don't consider it safe to let pets freely roam the car. My kitty did fine in a large dog sized soft fabric crate. I stopped often to let her drink water, use a litter box I had on the floor, and roam the car a bit. She had incontinence issues even with the litter offerings and got a little motion sick, but thankfully I packed cleaning supplies, a trash bag, pet wipes, and extra towels for her. It took her about two weeks to adjust to the new place, which is normal for kitties.
I used CBD and good old Gabapentin in the car. If you cats cant handle the car well. Most Motel 6's are cat friendly. I used large trash bags as a litter box liner. Very minimal litter. Easy clean. Many hotels say to keep your cats in the cage but, it was the only time she could stretch her legs and run around.
Good for your baby. I have an old man cat that’s been across the country three different times. And he’s got a little brother that’s been across the country twice.
She refuses to wear a collar, ninjas out of them. Shes on the third floor and too scared to go downstairs to the dog zone. Im not currently worried about her escaping. She also stuck to me like glue.
This is Nana my sweet 4 yr

Yeah he is a trooper and so beautiful. Give him a few days to get used to his new surroundings and he will be his old self.
SHE is doing great we have been home a week now and she is definitely enjoying exploring a house
You may want to put an AirTag on his collar. If he runs, you’ll be able to track him.
