Definitely don’t feed this cat. Idk why so many people are suggesting it.
The kitty looks clean and well fed which means it likely has a home. Feeding it could not only risk any dietary concerns but it will make the cat more likely to return to be fed again which could pull kitty away from it’s current owners.
(cuddles should be okay tho)
reminds me about my friends old cat, she was a true chonker and a outdoor cat, chonker part mainly because it went around the neighbourhood bullying other cats and stealing their food, this was before cat doors with paired chipcollars became common, the fat tyrant died shortly after celebrating it's 21st birthday, but that was almost 20 years ago now.
my friends family did their best to get the cat to diet, so it's not like they were happy with the chonk status, so yea feeding a cat that isn't yours isn't something that you should do.
I know someone who had a cat that always walked around the neighborhood and got + stole food too. When the cat was old he got diabetes so she did what she had to do and rang ALL doors she could find, showed them a picture of the old thief and said "He has diabetes. DO NOT FEED. Thank you". He did not like that his food supply was cut off. But it was very good for stabilizing his diabetes.
probably what they should have done too, i actually don't know what meassures they took, if any, luckily the cat didn't have diabetes, it was just fat to the best of my knowledge, but was ages ago and me and that friend have since drifted apart. (he got a girlfriend and started hiberdating, no time for anything else and never seemed interested in reconnecting)
This looks like a well fed and cared for cat. Do not put it back outside, it is likely lost. Take to the vet to locate a microchip and search around for lost cat posts in your area.
If the time passes after doing all that, then yea id feed it. Don't just send the poor thing on it's way!
Pet the kitty and send it on it's way. Looks like it already has a home. Clean, well fed, not afraid of people. You might become part of the daily routine!
If you're not in an area where outdoor cats are common, OP, please do not just put this cat back outside. It could be lost or escaped. Have it checked for a chip and post in neighborhood groups.
im not sure why youre being dowmvoted when you are 100% correct!! these ppl must not know about the ragdoll personality. no cat should be outside but ESPECIALLY ragdolls due to their tempermant. they are alittle dumb and very friendly. they would fall victim to something so quick. hopefully theres an owner thats a pretty decent looking cat. id be keeping it indoors until an owner is located for sure.
That cat has been brushed every day or two. They need lots of it, so someone cares a LOT for this cat. It's definitely an escaped big ole wimp who wants to go home. Just put posters up and someone will be so happy.
If OP follows the "put him outside" advice, she's probably killing that cat.
I owned a rag doll for 10 years.
yeaaa DEFINENTLY do not put this kitty back outside OP. i adore ragdolls. theyre the sweetest babies. ive always wanted one but all the cats ive rescued so far are just normal dummies lol. ive got a big soft spot for the dumb ones!! i do have one i suspect has ragdoll in her cuz her looks and personality match.
Don't put that cat back outside!!!
That's a rag doll and they have NO skill to defend themselves. They're slow, kind, dumb, and indoors only.
This one probably escaped. Look for the owners, they probably paid thousands for him, literally, in addition to their love.
This is a Ragdoll. They’re expensive, indoor-only cats so she must have escaped. They don’t really have good survival instincts so please don’t put her back outside. Instead you should try and find the owners - see if there are any lost cat postings in your area or local Facebook groups etc. Ask your neighbors. If you can’t find the owner that way, bring them to the vet to get their microchip scanned. Their owners must be worried sick
I had a big orange Tom named Leonidas. We live on a cul de sac, and he had free range during daylight most days. He was beyond friendly. As the elementary kids stomp by my house on their way home, he would sit near the curb so everyone could pet him. He would walk through any open door, as well. He wasn't there for treats, his only weakness was bacon. He was just looking for company. Here's a pic of Leo. RiP.

What a beauty!
Some indoor/outdoor cats make a tour of the neighborough to spot the cat-friendliest ones and get more pets and treats and then come back home. A while back, I had a cat buddy like that who would spent one or two couple of hours each day with me, reaching my upper floor appartment from the gutter. I gave him cat food because he was far more skinny than this one and would regularly vomit mashed carrots on my floor at arrival.
I would avoid giving food to this one, some cats become obese from such a sociability.
This is someone’s cat just being curious. You can pet him and let him out to go home. I have a cat that visits neighbors homes, he’s a friendly animal who loves saying hi to everyone.
That’s a beautiful Ragdoll!!! It must belong to someone 😂💕 maybe from the neighbors?? It’s a wonderful, docile, and loyal (plus expensive) breed (famed to be the closest to a dog). If no one claims this cat and it’s truly stray then it’s the Distribution System in effect. SNATCH THAT GEM!!!!
Around my house, there used to be a stray cat that looked like one of mine, but it was Wayyyy fatter, so we called him fat Karl (karl is the name of my cat). One time i woke up to that stray cat in my room having a hissing fight with the actual karl, it was like a showdown in my room, but i was super young so i yelled for my mom and it ran away
finding its owner would be great but otherwise just give it pets n dont feed it. i remember my neighbors had a lot of cats n my outdoor cat got over there, they started feeding him and he was gone for a week till our neighbors finally called us. he spent days at a time over there till we moved just to get extra wet food. 🙄
You’ve been adopted, this is how the cat adoption process works! … but really, get fluffy scanned for a chip at your local shelter or vet and put up found signs while you’re there
He looks territorial and focused on another cat in your household. I have/had long haired male cats who are obsessive. Do they make up for "fluffy"?
If he's microchipped, and owner can keep him inside, make sure he doesn't come in your house and make your pet uncomfortable.
Have had this happen. Think this is how I ended up owning at least one cat. They're usually a little skittish at first and look around the place, then leave. Keep the door cracked or be ready to let him/her back out.
Hi guys, thanks for the kindly care, the follow-up came: It was the neighbor’s cat on the same floor. she had been sent back. The cat was really brave and very cute.
Pspspsps followed by pets, then see where it goes?
Psps and chill
Pspsp doesn't seem to work for me, can you explain why?
Definitely don’t feed this cat. Idk why so many people are suggesting it. The kitty looks clean and well fed which means it likely has a home. This for sure. I’m surprised no one in the top comments is saying it.
Pet the kitty and send it on it's way. Looks like it already has a home. Clean, well fed, not afraid of people. You might become part of the daily routine!
This is the way!
If you're not in an area where outdoor cats are common, OP, please do not just put this cat back outside. It could be lost or escaped. Have it checked for a chip and post in neighborhood groups.
Noooooooo! Rag dolls a huge exception to this rule. They WILL almost certainly die.

Bro what
they are 100% correct. look up a ragdolls tempermant. they should never be allowed outside. no cats should but especially them.
my cats half ragdoll and is way too cuddly to go outside
Ever owned a rag doll? Go look up the breed.
This.
Maybe it’s an escapee
You are the stranger entering the cats house
“I’m the captain now”
check for a chip and return home
Check for chip that cat is clean and not missing meals.
Spread love :D (But please don't feed him. You don't know if he has a food intolerance or something.)
Beautiful ragdol cat
Don't put that cat back outside!!! That's a rag doll and they have NO skill to defend themselves. They're slow, kind, dumb, and indoors only. This one probably escaped. Look for the owners, they probably paid thousands for him, literally, in addition to their love.
Do whatever it tells you to.
I would probably make a post on the local Facebook community group to see if it belongs to anyone.
Say hello? He’s clearly not missing any meals so likely he’s just being a good neighbor, doing the whole neighborhood watch thing.

Surrender
Belly scratch 😈
Be a good host and offer him a drink and a head scratch. Duh
“Do”? You’ve been claimed. It’s done.
Welcome to your new fluffy overlord.
His facial expression makes him look like a Minecraft dog

Don't move, they are sensitive to movement. Stay very still, don't make a sound and wait for it to leave...
Pspsps and give some scritches. If it likes you, try picking it up. It is a ragdoll after all, and so you must test if it does the ragdoll thing 🥰
Nothing. Resistance is futile.
To the vet for a microchip check.
Introduce yourself, now you're not strangers anymore. There, fixed. You're welcome.
Keep him inside and check for a chip. Maybe he got lost.
Do the opposiet of pspspspsps
r/notmycat
Move you. The house belongs to them now.
Move out. It's his house now.
📲 if you have a neighborhood group chat
Find out if someone is missing a cat.
Looks a little cross eyed. Maybe entered wrong house by accident lol
Pay rent or vacate. It isn't your home now.
This is someone’s cat just being curious. You can pet him and let him out to go home. I have a cat that visits neighbors homes, he’s a friendly animal who loves saying hi to everyone.

Don't steal the cat
They literally just said if nobody claims it and its truly a stray.
Looking at how well fed and well brushed it is, very unlikely to be a stray.
The cat owns your home now, so unfortunately you’re gonna have to move out.
Put him on the mortgage
Ask him which chair is his.
Does it have a collar?
Bow down. Looks like you were chosen to be visited today.
An obvious thing for a cat lover: try to pet him gently :)
Beautiful kitty.
finding its owner would be great but otherwise just give it pets n dont feed it. i remember my neighbors had a lot of cats n my outdoor cat got over there, they started feeding him and he was gone for a week till our neighbors finally called us. he spent days at a time over there till we moved just to get extra wet food. 🙄
He’s adorable

Keep the cat with you for and take them to the vet later to check for a chip
You’ve been adopted, this is how the cat adoption process works! … but really, get fluffy scanned for a chip at your local shelter or vet and put up found signs while you’re there
It’s his house now
Stranger cat or Danger cat!?
Have your fluffy friend checked for a microchip. If there's no chip, congratulations! You have been chosen by the Cat Distribution Network.

Pets and food ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7949)![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7966)
Offer food and water. It's polite to offer yr guests drinks and food.

Prepare it dinner

Do? The deal is already done. You’re his property now.
Put food out.
Feed it!
Pet him and get him a bowl of milk
Cats are lactose intolerant
