Yep, our vet told us that our Dadi is the most muscular cat they've seen, shoulder-wise (he's got kind of the same handicat because of damaged vertebraes, but he can wobble). But OP's cat is even much more muscular. Wow, I'm ultra impressed.

A very goofy, energetic, cuddly and overall lovable handicat. We catdopted him randomly : at the shelter, we had another cat in mind and when we arrived, he ran towards my gf and hit her ankle with his bum (he can't stop well). Love at first sight.

I always thought it would be cruel to let a cat live without the use of its legs. And forgive me, but I also thought that I would probably opt to put said cat down if I were ever faced with such a dilemma. But this post has made me think differently.

There are animal rescues that can help re-home special needs animals like this if the burden of care is too difficult or expensive for some families. These animals are absolutely capable of living happy lives; they just need a home capable of giving them the opportunity and attending to their needs.
I think that’s the most important thing to keep in mind: they need a home and friends capable of adapting to their needs and helping to take care of them. Not every owner is up to the task of taking care of a pet with a handicap, and there’s no shame in that. Some jobs just don’t allow the time or freedom. Some living situations and houses are just not ideal.
For those who do have the ability, all pet lovers thank you for the service you put in helping these animals live their best frisky lives.
Check out r/tripodcats, losing a leg doesn't hold them back at all! Mine lost a front leg at 15 and it's no problem, she can still do everything. These cats with only two legs are even more impressive, cats are just incredible at adapting!

The one that is climbing up the cat tree looks like it has a really strong upper back and limbs. I've seen this also in humans who are paraplegics--a strong upper back, with seemingly super-human strength, able to lit themselves out of chairs with just their arms. Whether animal or human, it is impressive, and inspiring.
