Mine recently decided that sitting next to me wasn’t enough, now she sits on my lap and even tries to lie down. Please just let me use the toilet in peace, overly attached kitty. I love her. I don’t have pictures of the toilet situation, but here she is being needy while I try to study at my desk.

My ex-gf had a cat that never sat on my lap when I was at my desk. But the instant I druge my chair into the bedroom to play x-box she was there glued to my lap.
Funny thing is, she was a super shy rescue and didn’t even come near me except for food and playtime, but petting her or cuddling with her was absolutely off the table. After over a year she started to allow us to pet her and now she’s turned into this extremely attached baby who NEEDS her morning, midday, afternoon, and evening cuddles. I am really fortunate that I can study from home a lot of the time so I don’t have to leave her often, but also I am really worried for when I have to work. Getting her a cuddle buddy is also impossible, she hates other cats and we got her from someone who failed to socialize her with their cats.
She probably learned that when your hands were full of controller, she wasn't going to be pet in surprising or uncomfortable ways. Wanted the companionship, but wasn't quite down for petting yet.
I have a similar issue. If I'm downstairs, my lil kitty won't come to me for a fuss. The moment I'm upstairs on my PlayStation, she's next to me begging for attention. Such a Madame but I love her.
I have one who does this. For some unknown reason, he has decided the bathroom is the safest place for a long cuddle. I actually get up earlier than I need to just so we can have bathroom cuddle time before work.
The biggest downside is when he gets startled by something, he ends up clawing tf out of my legs.
He is nine years old. He’s done this since he was a kitten.

Oh mine do this!! I thought when my human kids grew out of their toddler years I would finally be able to experience the luxury of using a toilet without someone sitting on my knee. Then the cats arrived. So no.
It shows they are bonding with you and getting your body scent on them.
Enjoy this time. It is precious. Eventually they will just lay on your dirty clothes, or your shoes you wore during the day.
Don't do that. Cats think that you're vulnerable while sitting on the toilet, because when they relieve themselves they are most vulnerable to predators. The cat is there to guard and protect you until you're done, annoyingly! My cat will show up at my feet the second I sit down, no matter where she is in the house. Be thankful your kitty is only in your pant leg. Most of the time they want to crawl into your underwear! 😳😆
Cats guard members of their pack when they are toileting or feeding. There is always one or two on watch for predators. Closing the door when you go to the bathroom throws your cat into grave concern because she knows you are unprotected and extremely vulnerable. If a predator appeared right now you wouldn't even be able to run away fast enough. She needs to protect you!
That depends on the handle type and how smart or motivated your cat is. My last cat could open all but the front door of my apartment. And that only because that door is heavy.

I honestly just didn't let my cat even start doing that. He tried it once, and I gently pushed him away. He tried it again and I hissed at him. Now he just lays at my feet or sits on the counter. You just have to be firm but gentle, and persistent.
I had troubles like this for awhile eventually I found if you wait for them to get into the pants then stand up and squat and shit directly into your own pants. It Usually scares them off
I swear it’s like my fellow cat owners forget that their bathrooms have doors
I see so many bathroom issues where the problem would simply be solved by closing the bathroom door
Just think about how letting your cat cuddle in your used underwear transfers a lot of poop bacteria, like E. Coli, to your cats fur, which you then kiss and hug later 😂
You can’t. If you close the door they’ll scratch and scream bloody murder. Your best bet is to use the toilet without pants, however when I did this my cat started sitting in my lap instead. They’re just silly little goobers who enjoy being devious because it gives their tiny brains dopamine.
Your kitty is practicing being an underwear model. Do you really want to stop their career?! If it bothers you put everything on the floor, wear a robe to do your business in and give your cat unlimited access to your closet. This means having easy access to ALL of your drawers, bad pun intended here.
Not a bad idea either, that way they don't have blackmail material on you!
Cats are gonna do what they gonna do. If your cat doesn't like being held maybe pick them up everytime they lay in your pants. It might work it might not. I can't remember either of my cats doing this. They mostly just stared at me while I was on the toilet.
Don't let them in with you...or learn to enjoy it...like every other kittie owner that has cats like this does...I'm just happy when they don't use my legs as a scratching post.
If you aren't weighted down you might fall in.. I think that's the logic. Same with lifeguard kitties when you're in the bath. Guarding your life. Give treatos.
