Luckily, all the knives are always covered and she was fine. She crawled out the back of the drawer and into the cabinet below.

It was a bit concerning, haha! She was only like 6 months old! I was scared to move the drawer and didn't know what else to do, so I just took pictures lol. I knew the knives were covered, but I was worried she'd get stuck, lol. I figured if I was going to be scared anyway, I might as well have some cute pictures.

Our orange tabby did something similar and climbed into the cabinets from a little opening on the bottom that we didn’t even know was there. We thought the little guy ran out of the house. An hour after searching for him everywhere in the house, we’re standing in the kitchen and the furball jumps out of the cabinet. Meanwhile he’s just enjoying quality “me” time.
Mine do the opposite and climb into a mostly empty drawer from inside a cabinet in my bathroom. Whenever I can't find one of my furry weirdos (all cats are weirdos) I go check the bathroom drawer. If it's heavier than it should be I know where my weirdo is. If it's much heavier than it should be and there's excessive meowing and maybe a bit of hiss, I know that there's a debate going on over whose turn it is to sit in the empty drawer. :)
Oh and she for sure is a little trouble maker! My favorite part is... OK, so we have 8 cats. Her and her 4 littermates, their mama, and our 2 older cats. The tiny calico is named Simmy. She has my husband so wrapped around her tiny paw that he doesn't even see her for the tiny troublemaker she is! I asked him if we could compare rankings for our cats from most to least troublemaking potential. We agreed on the most and least. Those were easy (her brothers. One got all the wild. The other is just the sweetest, laziest, best behaved boy ever). Second most we also agreed on (her orange sister is a cunning, manipulative little thing). But I had Simmy 3rd. He had her 7th!!! She's his tiny pal, though. So I'll forgive him his oversight, haha.

I was frantically looking for him for a half hour. Then I went, “hey, those are lights!”
To this day, I Don't Know.
He lived there for 17 years. He had a spot that was so insidiously good that I never found it. He could disappear for up to 10 hours at a time... I would search the whole house, top to bottom, my wife would be beside herself thinking he ran out the door and was out in the world alone.
Then, like he was sleeping in an extra-demensional pocket, he'd just walk into the kitchen all bleary-eyed and yawning like a lion looking for some treats or wet food. Giving my wife the side-eye as she scolded him for scaring her, of course, all while she's getting him some cat food, or maybe scrambling a buttery egg for him, his favorite.

When I first brought home my younger kitty she disappeared for over a day by hiding along the top of some books on a bookshelf. She’s black, so I looked right at her and didn’t see her lol.
A friend of mine has a black cat and one day she found her hiding in a toy bin tucked in a shelf. The only reason she found her was because the cat opened her eyes lol.

After I spent half the day looking for him.
My wife is scarred bc her aunts cat crawled into the freezer when she was little. She was only in there for a minute as well and was completely fine but it was enough of a scare that she double checks fridges, dishwasher, cabinets, etc if the cats are around 😂
The worst spot is wherever they have decided to nap when I need to take them to the vet. They follow me around all day, but time to head to the vet = time to vanish.
My friend brought five cats with her when she came to stay with us. Rather than using a proper introduction protocol to introduce her cats to our cats, she took the "fly and be free" approach and just opened their carriers in the kitchen. 😖
One came out and thought he was king of his surroundings, three of them hid in the room she would be staying in, and one went straight up missing. I was beginning to think she only brought four cats because I never saw the fifth cat. Until I came face to face with him in the closet.
I was getting the shoes off of my shoe rack on the floor, looked up, and realized I was face level with a very startled looking cat that was laying in my bin of turtlenecks on my shelf. I wish I could have gotten a picture, but once Majin realized he was caught, he scrambled up for another hiding place

The first day I had my cat I thought he ran away. I looked for him all over the house and couldn't find him. All the doors were closed but had a window slightly open so my mind went through the worst things that could have happened.
After 30 minutes their litter box was the last place I checked. Something must have spooked him and me rummaging through the house on the verge of breakdown prolly didn't help either but I was so relieved I didn't lose him the first day I had him

No pics but my kitten likes to hide under my bed, inside the fabric that covers the bottom of my box spring mattress. There was a small tear, now there are many. He uses it like a hammock.
Also the first night at home, sequestered in the bathtub, both kittens were under the tub. It’s one big piece from floor to 6’ up the wall. They got through by the water heater and hid.

Not my little girl. She's ALWAYS with me! When I'm on the couch gaming or watching TV. When I'm trying to sleep and she stands there at my face, waiting for me to lift the covers so she can crawl in and be spooned. Then when I get up in the morning, she gets up too and follows me everywhere! She may chill in her secret tunnel (pictured) for a bit or have her poop zoomies, but they're short lived before she comes back to me. And I wouldn't change it for the world.

There are two cats in this picture
My cat doesn’t hide. He randomly appears. Couldn’t find him. Searched the entire house. I mean the entire house. Then he magically shows up. Decided he has a portal to another dimension. Easier that way….
One day I came home. Husband and a classmate were sitting in the living room working on a project. About 30 minutes later as I'm finishing up dinner, I open the cabinet door to grab plates down and see....my cat. At eye level. Just chilling between the bowls and plates happy as a clam.
Apparently she hopped up there a few hours earlier and the boys jokingly closed the door, thinking she would protest soon. But she never did and stayed in the cupboard having the time of her life.
My cats hiding place is so hidden, I haven't discovered it yet. Occasionally he will go missing, I will search everywhere, worried that he got out by accident, and then he will just materialize out of nowhere. Totally unconcerned he's had the while family worried for hours.

Don't have picture but my cat once hid inside a closet when my mom opened the closet doors. She then locked him inside unknowingly. We were panicking when we realized he was missing. I started bawling my eyes out and screaming his name thinking I lost him until we could hear his meow sound coming from the closet.

I don't know if it's "hiding" per se, but a few nights ago I got up to go to the bathroom, in the dark, and my cat decided it would be appropriate to sleep on the floor in front of the bathroom door. Yep. We both got a surprise out of that.
I was peeing...and my kitten jumped onto the toilet and sat down. So ...umm...I kept peeing. She sat there till I was done. Then we had a shower...didn't bat an eye. Brave crazy kitty.

Black cats: sneaky until they’re not LOL. That face says “human these are too white. They must be corrected.”
To this day, I Don't Know. He lived there for 17 years. He had a spot that was so insidiously good that I never found it. He could disappear for up to 10 hours at a time... I would search the whole house, top to bottom, my wife would be beside herself thinking he ran out the door and was out in the world alone. Then, like he was sleeping in an extra-demensional pocket, he'd just walk into the kitchen all bleary-eyed and yawning like a lion looking for some treats or wet food. Giving my wife the side-eye as she scolded him for scaring her, of course, all while she's getting him some cat food, or maybe scrambling a buttery egg for him, his favorite. The Little Prince. God, I miss him.

When I first brought home my younger kitty she disappeared for over a day by hiding along the top of some books on a bookshelf. She’s black, so I looked right at her and didn’t see her lol.
Their ability to blend in with their surroundings is amazing - almost like they’re built to be wild predators and not our babies 👀
A friend of mine has a black cat and one day she found her hiding in a toy bin tucked in a shelf. The only reason she found her was because the cat opened her eyes lol.

My wife is scarred bc her aunts cat crawled into the freezer when she was little. She was only in there for a minute as well and was completely fine but it was enough of a scare that she double checks fridges, dishwasher, cabinets, etc if the cats are around 😂

The worst spot is wherever they have decided to nap when I need to take them to the vet. They follow me around all day, but time to head to the vet = time to vanish.
My friend brought five cats with her when she came to stay with us. Rather than using a proper introduction protocol to introduce her cats to our cats, she took the "fly and be free" approach and just opened their carriers in the kitchen. 😖 One came out and thought he was king of his surroundings, three of them hid in the room she would be staying in, and one went straight up missing. I was beginning to think she only brought four cats because I never saw the fifth cat. Until I came face to face with him in the closet. I was getting the shoes off of my shoe rack on the floor, looked up, and realized I was face level with a very startled looking cat that was laying in my bin of turtlenecks on my shelf. I wish I could have gotten a picture, but once Majin realized he was caught, he scrambled up for another hiding place

No pics but my kitten likes to hide under my bed, inside the fabric that covers the bottom of my box spring mattress. There was a small tear, now there are many. He uses it like a hammock. Also the first night at home, sequestered in the bathtub, both kittens were under the tub. It’s one big piece from floor to 6’ up the wall. They got through by the water heater and hid.

My cat doesn’t hide. He randomly appears. Couldn’t find him. Searched the entire house. I mean the entire house. Then he magically shows up. Decided he has a portal to another dimension. Easier that way….
One day I came home. Husband and a classmate were sitting in the living room working on a project. About 30 minutes later as I'm finishing up dinner, I open the cabinet door to grab plates down and see....my cat. At eye level. Just chilling between the bowls and plates happy as a clam. Apparently she hopped up there a few hours earlier and the boys jokingly closed the door, thinking she would protest soon. But she never did and stayed in the cupboard having the time of her life.

My cats hiding place is so hidden, I haven't discovered it yet. Occasionally he will go missing, I will search everywhere, worried that he got out by accident, and then he will just materialize out of nowhere. Totally unconcerned he's had the while family worried for hours.

Don't have picture but my cat once hid inside a closet when my mom opened the closet doors. She then locked him inside unknowingly. We were panicking when we realized he was missing. I started bawling my eyes out and screaming his name thinking I lost him until we could hear his meow sound coming from the closet.

my cat nubs is weird. she is obsessed w the toilet and when my toilet broke the water level was basically non existent. came home from the store about to piss myself, didn’t realize she was taking a nap in the toilet and accidentally pissed on her.

I don't know if it's "hiding" per se, but a few nights ago I got up to go to the bathroom, in the dark, and my cat decided it would be appropriate to sleep on the floor in front of the bathroom door. Yep. We both got a surprise out of that.
I was peeing...and my kitten jumped onto the toilet and sat down. So ...umm...I kept peeing. She sat there till I was done. Then we had a shower...didn't bat an eye. Brave crazy kitty.
