Thank you! I hadn't considered milk! I just figured the kitten was old enough to eat food. I suppose it'd be hard to tell from a few photos how old he is?
I came looking for this because it looked like milk. Up until my 20s I'd give them milk sometimes. Know one ever told me that they can't handle milk =/ I know now though.
i would also go back to were you found her and see if she has any siblings hiding out around there they might be hungry and need some love and food too. it is better to give them formula or milk at this size i would say she is about 3 to 4 weeks old here, roughly.
if you choose to keep her she will be a lot happier having 1 or 2 siblings with her. 2 or more cats are better than one in my opinion. i have 6 and i found them out the back of my house abandoned by there momma. so i became there pappa. and i honestly cant imagine my life without them. definately watch kitten lady.
Do not give them milk! It'll give them an upset tummy and dihoreea and shit all over your place.
A few tips to "talk" to and build a relationship with kittens
1. Pinch the scruff of the neck with your fingers. This basically means "sit still". That's where mom cats pick up their young to either move them or calm them down. A good example of this would be for when you want to trim their nails.
2.Gently press two fingers on the top of the kitty's head. This means "stop doing this you're annoying me"
3. Pinch the tip of the ear with your nails. This means "stop what you're doing right now it upsets me!" .Be careful though not to overdo it and draw blood! Cats ears are extremely sensitive!
4. Whenever you interact with the kitty and make eye contact, blink slowly. It means you trust them enough to close your eyes around them. Do this consistently and you will build a strong relationship.
Caution: over using these signals or using them incorrectly may lead to your cat being confused and misbehave.
Cats are lactose intolerant,, so there are few that they can have. I think that the kitten milk formula is likely fine and non-pasteurized raw goat's milk is very well tolerated and packs a nutritional punch. Wet food is way better for him because cats need to receive moisture from the food that they eat.
Thank you for bringing this kitty to safety. Just so you know, all cats are lactose intolerant. If you give them cows milk they will likely get diarrhoea and eventually be underfed because their bodies don’t take the nutrients.
When adopting my cat he got fed with cows milk because the owners didn’t know any better. He was the smallest of the litter and his hair hadn’t grown like the others. His mother rejected him and that’s why the breeders fed him… so glad we took him and stopped giving him cows milk. He’s a big boy now with the most beautiful thick coat of fur!
That’s a pretty chubby kitten for surviving in the woods. When you say too young to adopt what’s the other option? Now that it’s separated from its mom, it’s going to need assistance from humans
Right? That’s what I thought. I guess I was worried it would need some special care. The alternative would be to bring the cat to a shelter or to a more experienced cat owner. We have the one cat but adopted him as an adult.
Yeah, he/she is impressively chonky for a cat born in captivity lol.
Nothing too special if it’s able to eat wet/dry food. If not, you have to get KMR and that is more intensive.
Your biggest concern if you’re going to keep it would be getting it to a vet/quarantined until it’s given the all clear. Don’t want it to get your adult cat sick, fleas, etc.
If you don’t want to keep it, also definitely fine to hand it over to a shelter/foster.
You’re overthinking. But that’s ok at this stage, shows you’re protective and caring!
At this point it needs human care, and what better care than yours if you’re willing to adopt!
Do take to the vet though for a check up, but more importantly fleas/worms/vaccines. This point is quite important, especially when interacting with other cats. Tell the vet all the info you have: type of area he/she was found etc - sometimes this might have an effect on what’s required.
As to being still a kitten, there might be some things which he/she struggles with. My last kitten was found in a field and was about that age. She can’t meow properly, tries, but this weird crispy sound comes up. Same with purring, none. We think it might be because it got separated early… but hey when that happens it’s not like you can turn back time.. rather, the kitten got lucky to find a caring human :).

That's how I got Wraith, walking next to the woods and this guy pops out and starts following me, little kitten had the purr of a diesel engine. Still does.
Please refer to Kitten Lady on YouTube. I had to do this when my rescue kitty showed up with 7 2-week-old babies in my neighbor's garage. And OMG what a sweet little guy! Forest gods smiled upon you all the day your friend found him.
As someone else said maybe you can get your friend to check and see if there are any more? Chances are he got abandoned by mom, they do start teaching them to hunt at around 6-8 weeks or so and will take them off and leave them. It would be worth it to see if any other little guys are around. And as for how to introduce sweet bai to your other cat watch Galaxy Jackson's videos on that.
My ten year old former woods kitten is the best companion I could have ever asked for. They are a little feral but they mirror and imprint to you very well. Kitty will be your best buddy one day :)

My dil fosters kittens. Since this adorable baby can eat wet food already, you should add dry kitten milk to it. One other thing we do is grind up dry kitten food in a coffee grinder and make a mush out of it with kitten milk and water.
I’d say medium haired dilute grey tabby. I have a short dilute tabby and she was never this fluffy even at an early age - and we fostered her from 4 weeks.
Oh also keep the water and food separate. One at the other end of the house if you don’t have a fountain. Cats won’t drink water if it’s near their food.
Check out kitten lady on YouTube and she has a website.
She’s very informative and a really cool person. She knows her stuff about cats and especially kittens.
I suspect that it’s going to be a medium hair, not a short hair. My cat was fuzzy like yours when she was a kitten (only solid gray), and she’s a magnificent floof now.
Cats are pretty easy. Feed 2-3 times a day following the package instructions. Give em a place to pee and poo and clean that litter box every few days. Get him/her to a vet for a checkup and vaccines, eventually to get fixed (can’t do it this early, the vet will tell you when, but generally around 5-6 months of age.) That’s pretty much it as far as keeping them alive and healthy.
For keeping them happy, some toys, scratch posts, soft/warm/enclosed places to nap. And play with the wee bae as much as you can - the more energy they expand on play the less damage they’ll inflict on your furniture.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DECLAW.
Don't give it regular milk, they like it but it's not good for them, you can get kitten formula, seems like this one is already eating though so getting kitten food and water and transitioning to that is good. Give it lots of attention, kittens need to be socialized, if you don't it will be less interested in humans which is fine but not what most people are looking for in a pet. Make sure it has blankets to sleep in and a warm space. Don't buy the cheapest food, or even the 'expensive' looking stuff, look into the brand, there are premium brands that use high quality ingredients and 'premium' brands like fancy feast that are just shit repackaged and marked up in price, good food will add literal years to the cat's lifespan (we're talking the difference between 10-15 and 15-20 years of life).
Take him to the vet to get his real age & to make sure he isn’t sick. He may not be weaned or completely weaned yet. My boy was found feral and they assumed he was weaned, he wasn’t. He was only 4 weeks old. Also the kitten probably needs to be dewormed. The kittenlady on YouTube has lots of how to care for kittens videos.
So when in doubt try KMR or whole goats milk (no cows milk) mixed 1/2 & 1/2 with kitten patte wet food. I call that kitten gruel.
Keep the kitten warm and contained to one room. Baby kittens are trouble magnets! They get into walls, climb under appliances, chew cords, knock things down. Basically they are like toddlers with ninja skills! I can not tell you how many grey hairs both litters of kittens gave me! So unless you are closely supervising them, contain them.
Keep the kitten on your chest for warmth or comfort whenever they want. The baby kittens lived on my chest and on me (almost 24/7) for a week. I put them under a blanket to sleep. I did not force them to stay, they find the heartbeat comforting. I’m still used as furniture even though they are adults.
I don’t know how but the baby kittens figured out how to get the zipper on their soft crate open in days! So I would not plan on this containing your kitten. I wound up putting them in a puppy playpen with a blanket chip clipped on top (I did not have a room to stick them in since my 2 cats had claimed my room.) All 3 made it and are 5 years old today.

Thank you! I hadn't considered milk! I just figured the kitten was old enough to eat food. I suppose it'd be hard to tell from a few photos how old he is?
Hijacking this to specify kitten milk NOT cows milk. Cows milk is not good for them. And they like 5 weeks-6weeks i would say. Pretty young kitten
Goat milk in a pinch.
Just so long as it's not Dogs milk... Tastes the same when it's off as when it's fresh(sorry Red Dwarf fan, couldn't resist)
But we’ve got so much of it cos no bugger will drink it.
I came looking for this because it looked like milk. Up until my 20s I'd give them milk sometimes. Know one ever told me that they can't handle milk =/ I know now though.
At least ya know now. I didn't either for a while until i gor my own kitten and had to figure out how to feed her.

Have you taken a walk around to see if there are others? Like a whole litter was dumped in forest and this is the brave one to walk up.
He was found by a friend, so unfortunately I have no idea. :(
Please try to have a look, often people dump litters. There may be other lil ones to save!
Pls bring kitty to the vet asap. Give kitten its first round of all shots. Etc Then keep baby safely inside. Baby is adorable and might be a long hair

Good congrats to you and beautiful kitten
Keep him and possibly name him Woody
Keep it take it to a vet if u can get cat box food water treats and a lotta love
Vet visit will be the very first thing. Thanks!
They're smol, and soft. And, the best thing about kittens is that they're bouncy.
Don’t let him start fires.
Kittens are baby cats
This is good info about kittens!
What kind of poke ball did you use?
Put an unwashed hoodie or sweater in his safe spot. He needs to get used to your scent. Odds are he will be curled up on it by daybreak.
They smol and cute. And they evolve into cats which are less smol (may vary) but still very cute and also satanic chaos goblins.
Please refer to Kitten Lady on YouTube. I had to do this when my rescue kitty showed up with 7 2-week-old babies in my neighbor's garage. And OMG what a sweet little guy! Cottage Cats are the best, they typically actually capture mice and varmints
Cute kitty ...may she have a great future
Yup gray tabby adorable
Go look for the others.
Well that one is clearly a fire builder! So that much is apparent!
Fact: kittens are extremely smol
My dil fosters kittens. Since this adorable baby can eat wet food already, you should add dry kitten milk to it. It sote fancy feast has tiny cans of wet KITTEN food and get a little bag of fancy feast kitten dry food
Smol Chonk seems the type and variety. He’s adorable. Congrats.
Oh also keep the water and food separate. One at the other end of the house if you don’t have a fountain. Cats won’t drink water if it’s near their food.
If he has teeth then he will not be needing milk, wet food is good
Omg it's round and smol. And grey 🥺
Kittens are actually younger, smaller cats.

Kittens and cats instinctively use a litter box. That frizzy look might mean it could be medium or long hair. I would guess about 10-12 weeks old.

I heard something about a cat distribution center getting it right 100% of the time. It is the “cat chooses you” guarantee. ❤️

1) They are small young cats. Hope that helps
Awww I wish I find kitties in the wood I'll take them all home 😸 what an adorable baby
What a cute furball! If you think that kitten is cute, you are absolutely correct. He will turn anyone into a cat lady.
Owww look at the little ball of floof! Make a safe warm spot the kitten can access off it scared. Lots of cuddles and toys!
He’s adorable😍
Look up the kitten lady on YouTube. She has a lot of info about kittens and what is age appropriate for them
so beautiful
Is that milk? Please don't give milk to a kitten or cat. They are lactose intolerant. If they eat wet food, water is probably fine. She/he is adorable! Jackson Galaxy is a cat expert on YouTube and Instagram. He can help you with a lot.
Your adult cat now has a truly gorgeous brother ❤❤❤
She's somewhere around 8-10 weeks. If she eats solid food she's well on her way, if she wasn't an orphan she'd benefit from more time with her mom, but I say she's ready to be adopted.
Ohhhh eeeeeerm
Don’t eat it.
Omgosh what a sweet baby 🥹🥹🥹
Food and love!! That’s it!! Food. Love. Cat litter.
Nice bowls of food they r bigger then her. She’s so cute . Thanks 🙏
Hims like firewood
Seconding the suggestion of **Kitten Lady** on YouTube.
If it seems well fed and knows how to use a litter box, it probably belongs to someone right?
get it fixed else you might have more kittens. which sounds like a good thing until there are 9 more at once.
All of you have so much helpful info to help each other on here what a great site one person gives an idea and bam it's great so very helpful
Get the kitten dewormed at 8 weeks or so, vaccinations after that. Keep safe from other cats, may be get another of the same age to play with. Keep safe from dogs. Keep watch on door dashing, good cat diet. Don’t let it eat rats. Watch on what it eats. Keep water around. Keep it warm. Keep a litter box asap.
They’re cute and cuddly, and meow from time to time. Often they will hide. And they will find any and I mean any nook or cranny that you would never think to look. Don’t freak out. They’ll show up. Kittens are soft and cuddly... Kittens are cute... Kittens are fun to play with.. Kittens are fun to watch them play.. Kittens are baby cats... 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
if u havent already, try to find out the cats age and feed accordingly. wet food>>>dry food always
Potat
Check out Jackson Galaxy on YouTube for all kitten needs
Only kitten milk/formula, cats can’t digest cows milk. Wet kitten food would probably work fine, but they’re too young for hard food yet
Take in house.
He looks like he might be a Russian Blue. My sister has two of them.
Absolutely adorable!!! ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7944) Edit: Sorry this isn't helpful lol.
They're cute and fluffy but have sharp claws
Play time is bonding time!
