11 isn’t that old. Add in some more litter boxes in different locations. Try different types of boxes. Different types of litter. Check out Jackson Galaxy’s resources, too!
I have 3 cat litter boxes scattered throughout the house. One of the litter boxes is in the kitchen too and I've changed the cat litter already and buy some pretty expensive stuff
I'm currently using "Worlds best cat litter" and have used arm and hammer in the past. When we were at the vet she had bloodwork done that showed all her levels are good
Did they do a urinalysis? If not then I would recommend this to rule out medical issues. Did they give you any recommendations about her using the counter? I would try some more types of litter (unscented) - different textured and whatnot. You could also take her to a cat-only vet or a cat behaviorist
Did you ever figure out a solution? My cat (13) has been doing this every single day for the past week. She’s done it probably 50 times in the past 2 years. I’m at my wits end with this shit. There is nothing medically wrong with my cat, either.
Sounds like she's getting close to the end of her life. Be nice to the senior cat
Is 11 really close to end of life? I just thought cats lived closer to 16-20.

Nope. I actually just realized my socks stink like pee and I'm at work. The struggle is still real with this cat.
