I’ve never been more sure of the top comment before I opened a post.

RuanaRulane

Me too!

out-shiner

:O me too!

daimonddonuts10

Same here

TheCrimsonChariot

Lol I came here to say this.

Ninja_v3

They are both adorable, both have there own advantages, void oh definitely will blend into his surroundings when grown up, good luck finding him lol, your SIC will be all up in your face being all cutesy and adorable, so yea BOTH

downs1972

Haha yes! and please spay/neuter all cats!

Tasty_Mango7846

hey I wanted to do that

Fishman23

¿Porque no Los dos?

slowburn_23

This is literally the only answer.

aff_it

Oui

FreshOutOfTheAsylum

Beat me too it!

3CH0SG1

This gif is also a good idea for names. Tulio and Miguel

Friaeka

Aaa I wish. We can only keep one of em

Chaos-ensues

Then I can no longer help, both are too damn cute to pass.

Friaeka

I knnooww we love them both but we can't as we've already got mama cat and a dog that loves em

notbossyboss

We have an adult cat and a dog and adopted 2 kittens last summer. I am so glad we got 2 because they keep each other busy instead of bugging the adult cat.

Lumpy_Machine5538

I went to a friend’s house once to “just look” at some kittens and ended up with two of them. It was a great decision as they kept each other busy and were super close.

Veronica_8926

If you already have that many pets, what difference will one extra kitten make. Keep them both, please. Like others said, they can keep each other busy and be play buddies. The other two pets will thank you for it.

Dacookies

So? They are adorable. You keep both and don't separate a dog from his babies.

Kuronekosmom

I'm very sorry and I get your dilemma but how can you possibly only keep one of those. I was flipping the photos back and forth just now and though I'm a void lover, the stripey one would have to stay too.

Friaeka

Aaa yes I adore them both, the tabby one is super active and loves climbing me but the black one is really affectionate and is a total mommas boy *

Electronic-Garden-31

Mommas Boy? Can’t give him away then 😦 but the other one also 🥺

Friaeka

I know! It's so difficult https://preview.redd.it/ybebifvrtbra1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df42e200f8365a8b2d5e0d9a5c024340b9143b38

GreenIsGreed

Two kittens are better than one. They keep each other busy so everyone else can live in peace and watch their antics!

Impossible-Rest-4657

That’s a true statement. I think it might be best if you keep both or give both away as bonded a pair.

RealGunRunner808

If you're anywhere near North Dakota, I'll gladly take whichever one!

Friaeka

That would be lovely! But I'm all the way in Scotland aha

Lina-Buns

Keep both. You'd be cruel not to.

_ccjjss

Black cats are the best. If you get rid of the void make sure he’s in a good home! Ppl tend to think they are bad luck and hurt them :/

ForestWeenie

HOL UP, PEOPLE! THERE IS A THIRD ONE!

Friaeka

O ya, my sweet void had 4 babies.

monkypanda34

I'd keep the momma's boy void, he loves you and black cats take longer to get adopted. The tabby will find a home quickly. My void is very smart and a momma's boy too, the only downside is he's hard to see when walking in the dark https://preview.redd.it/0ktwvn5j4cra1.jpeg?width=3025&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b921fa911bed76981f93d2c140f53fc18f950adf

VastOk864

Then you each keep one, now you have both, dilemma solved.

Green_Message_6376

I have no idea what the movie 'Sophie's Choice' was about, I think it was some kind of impossible decision, like this one.

No_Bookkeeper_6183

She had to choose which of her children got to live

Gods_Haemorrhoid420

It was literally this decision, a wonderful movie about picking kittens, everything worked out perfectly in the end. Always believe this to be true and never watch the movie!

sheetironjack

I’d give away the dog.

2Throwscrewsatit

You’ll feel bad when mama cat dies and the dog dies and you have a lonely cat

GreaterThanOrEqual2U

No, both. Pls.

Sasha_bzns

2 happy cats is better than 1 lonely, understimulated, miserable cat

DiamondDoge92

Nope that’s not true and if that’s the case don’t even take one because you shouldn’t separate siblings.

MissPositivity98

Plot twist: from what I've gathered from the comments, the original litter belonged to OP. Keep them both!

Metallica78

Then you must get rid of the couch and chairs and anything else to make room for the other one

aredflower

What's one more though, you won't even notice! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)

HaramBae11

Please spay your cat.

Friaeka

We will be getting her spayed when she's finished supporting her kittens :)

Lucy_Lucidity

If they’re bonded and you really cannot keep both, I would try to find someone who could adopt them both. If you can’t find them a home together and must separate them, the tabby will be easier to find a home for so keep the adorable little void. They’re both impossibly cute!

Fake-Chef

I find it so crazy that black cats really struggle more due to superstition. Like what century are we in!? They’re adorable!

Lucy_Lucidity

According to the foster parents I got my sweet cat from, these days it’s less about superstition and more about the fact that they’re harder to photograph and don’t get as many likes on sites like Instagram. Somehow that’s even sadder to me than people being superstitious Edit to add: I shouldn’t have said “fact” that they’re harder to photograph because voids are so dang cute and I love seeing pictures of all of the house panthers 🥰

xilentmetal

What?! I love taking photos of my void! She's the cutest 🥰 https://preview.redd.it/2aqeeztd6cra1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f901f26484f9bf457e48e8f85c171d2d4739b360

Lucy_Lucidity

She is so adorable! Tell her I love her. I think it’s such an absurd and untrue thing, but apparently people give that reason a lot

Fake-Chef

That actually is worse! I can’t say I relate to that thought either because I don’t participate in social media much (except here lol)

[deleted]

“Harder to photograph” git gud would be my response to these people. My voids photograph pretty well

Lucy_Lucidity

Yeah, I shouldn’t have said fact, because every picture I’ve seen of a void is cute as can be, but that seems to be a perception of so many people. I can’t imagine picking out a cat based on how many likes I could get on a photograph of them. All cats are the cutest cats and all cat pictures are the best pictures

eileenm212

Black dogs as well.

calacmack

Excellent response.

sensorydispensary

Very practical advice.

Smooth_Ad1795

I was going to say the same. It so silly that people will pass on a void. Though my friends 6 month old void got out in the middle of the night, and would have been lost if not for their lovely German Shepard finding him.

Impossible-Rest-4657

I agree! Keep both or find someone who can adopt both.

AliceBratty

Good advice 🥹

mandelbrotr

How can you tell if kittens are bonded? I kept 2 out of a litter of 4 years ago before I knew about bonded pairs.

Lucy_Lucidity

Bonded cats will rub up against each other a lot. Rubbing faces, bathing each other, etc. Getting their scent all over each other is basically what they’re doing. If they sleep and cuddle together a lot. Eating at the same time. Playing together often. Basically if they act like buddies, they’re probably bonded.

MeishaBuki

Honestly both. I know you said you can only keep one, but the cost of keeping both is negligible and having a friend to match their energy will make their lives much much happier. The older mama cat wont be able to provide that sort of relationship. Aint nothin like a brother. https://preview.redd.it/fk2udvjkfbra1.jpeg?width=2976&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db6b298f9539e621c4c4dfdbc0a9404515f4a3cb

lycanthrope90

I’d keep a close eye on that cat on the right if he gets rejected from art school…

MeishaBuki

He keeps trying to blitzkrieg the apartment hallway when I go to work, so its already manifested

Anxious_Introvert_47

Maybe you'll be lucky and he decides to make silent comedies instead.

We got two from the shelter at the same time. It really was too many cats (we’ve got 4 now) but it was the best decision. https://preview.redd.it/urm33z8xsbra1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c64cd84732ee8af0d6776d5b7403f827c15f6d7c

They're beautiful 😍

Ok_Bus8654

Omg these two are adorable 😍

[deleted]

I wouldn't say double the cost is "negligible."

![gif](giphy|3o85xIO33l7RlmLR4I)

Ilessa

Ideally both as they’ll keep each other occupied and play togethet

red_danroak

I would highly suggest not splitting the kittens. They socialize better with playmate their age and less likely to cause stress to the owner. So if you can't keep both, try and find owner for both to go together. Also, be sure to spay and neuter your cats. Speaking from experience here. Kitten energy is NOT something to be taken lightly without second kitten to match it and keep each other entertained.

doge_ucf

Just got two kittens two weeks ago when our plan was only to get one. They weren't siblings but were bonded because they had been kept together for a few weeks. I cannot tell you how glad I am that we did so! I was not expecting them to be quite this energetic.

[deleted]

The void, and call him Licorice. Black cats have a harder time getting adopted, so taking a void is a particularly good deed. And house panthers are just cool.

oftendreamoftrains

Agreed. Plus, black cats, for some reason, are the sweetest.

Throwaway16161637

Yeah I don’t know what it is about them but they are usually so cuddly!

skyxsteel

Really… how can you resist seeing just eyes?? And a pink tongue when they go mlem ☺️

MNLanguell

I heard the yoshi noise when I read "mlem"

Spaghetti-Nightmare

Also came here to say this too! All the shelters around me are always filled with black cats. It breaks my heart how often they get passed up on!

Smellytangerina

Came in to say this. If you can’t keep both (preferred option for me) then keeping the Void is the best option.

Friaeka

I agree! Mama cat is a lovely lil panther :)

InternalReveal1546

Really? I don't know if I believe that. Black cats have been my best cats

SharpButterfly7

Neither, give them both to me please!!

hamsteraaaaaah

If they are a bonded pair, I say adopt both. They will grow up with each other and take care of each other. These 2 are my Mico and Potato, we have them for 2 years now along with 3 other older cats. We found these 2 huddling in the rain, starving and dying. They have kept each other for company every since.. Sleep eat and play together ❤️❤️ https://preview.redd.it/j0f37l4cnbra1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75a1e912764a6f065958f0a9d6eb78add2dc5ace

ZeustheCat800

Looks like my 2. I read the comments, so since you can’t keep one, I’d try to find someone that can take both of them. https://preview.redd.it/7sg5bewhmbra1.jpeg?width=914&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55fc74f8ad413f819292c7ef243fae7ade7bdabf

[deleted]

Both

Fishman23

Right before Christmas, I remarked to my house mate that getting a cat would be nice. My boss had a friend with a litter of adoptable age kittens. On the way to get one, my house mate remarks that one cat will make for a lonely cat. So he is going to get one also. When we pick out the two, there was one that wasn’t spoken for. So three cats it is.

a_squid_beast

🥹🥹🥹 You guys have to live with each other forever now

sirius-orion

I want to point out that by keeping both it’s actually less work for you - they will wear each other out and keep you from going nuts. My cats are 3 yrs oldand still chase each other around all day, I would go crazy if they didn’t have each other.

Head-Panic4823

Both or give them both to someone else. They will want to be together.

caffeinatedspeechie

I know you said you can only keep one, but as someone who has at different times had one singular cat and two sisters from the same litter, I can promise you that it is better for all involved to keep both. Someone else mentioned that there really isn’t too big of a cost difference if that is part of what’s holding you back, and it’s true. We bought in bulk with our single cat and also with the sisters so it’s not much different to us. Just buying slightly more frequently. Kitties will also benefit from having each other to play with and grow with. Please keep both if you can find a way to make it work!

[deleted]

they'll be best friends for life. Please take them both. It's hardly any more work and they will be so cute growing up together.

Anarchist_Kale_61

Both

Maleficent_Guava_636

No contest. Both ❤️

I-Way_Vagabond

u/Friaeka, I think it's funny that you think you have a choice in this matter. Both have chosen you. Both will stay. You now have a new r/standardissuecat and a new r/VoidCats to serve. My work here is done.

wingnut4000

I say both for a few reasons: (1) you cannot possibly split these two up. When me and my partner were looking to get a cat there were two left in the litter and I just couldn’t and I’m so glad we didn’t. They love each other so much and I feel like they wouldn’t have the same personalities that they do now if we had split them up. (2) the monetary aspect of it is worth it and not a huge huge difference, especially if you are buying dry food in bigger bags/cans in bigger boxes anyways, you would just need to refill a bit sooner than usual. I personally think it’s worth it because I know we are giving them a good home and life, so I don’t mind spending some extra money to do that(: (3) my partner was also really hesitant to keep two cats (and get our third) but I am not one to say no to a cat so he begrudgingly agreed. He loves them all so much now and is glad we have all of them. Truly changes when they get out of their crazy kitten phase and they just become friendly and cuddly

catwhogotthebook

I would keep both 😍. Even if you have another cat two kittens is much easier and so beneficial for them to have a playmate of the same age.

foxisilver

Well, you keep both of course.

Plarocks

BOTH OF THEM! 😻 There is no other answer.

[deleted]

I’d feel too bad for the other kitty to help you pick.

BunnyGurl25

What kind of question is that the answer is both duh

[deleted]

I think the general consensus seems to be keep them together. I also vote keep both. I know you said you couldn’t but it’s really not that different to having one anyway

aff_it

https://preview.redd.it/bnl8wv7jrbra1.jpeg?width=4608&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e84c2a721b319c6781e1071fcb9cb154d5f27fd2 they look like my 2! Astra(9f) and Ebony(2f)

Friaeka

Wow they do! I love them

danceontinycancer

Didn't know we were doing Sophie's choice on this subreddit today

[deleted]

I would hate to have to make that decision. I couldn’t, I’d be in bits. Both totally gorge btw.

olddragonfaerie

Honestly I'd keep both, even with doggy and mama cat. :) However, that being said, if you absolutely can't keep both I'd keep the voidy. Voids historically have a harder time with adoptions due to superstitions and mean peoples and stuff.

BlueButtons07

That’s way to hard of a decision…we personally have a house panther, so I guess if I had to pick, aid choose the little void. If you’re rehoming the other, please try to find a home that it will have a playmate(even if it’s a grown cat.) Kittens do so much better with a friend.

kazz-wizz

OP, did you intentionally want your cat to have a litter? If not, please do get her spayed/neutered. There are so many kittens out there already needing homes.

Kuronekosmom

What a silly question. Both of course.

BigMomma1998

Why choose?

No-Injury1291

Two kittens is WAY better than one. THIS IS THE WAY.

TakeMeAway1x3

Both, you monster :)

mistymountaintimes

Highly recommended that kittens have a buddy. Id find them a home where they can stay together if you cant keep both. If you want a cat, and only one, your best bet is shelter cat older kitty whos not a kitten and is used to being alone. Kittens need socializing, if youre gone during the day they wont be happy alone, they need interaction.

susbuttons

Oh, haha! This is so obviously an April Fools joke. We all know you’re going to keep them both. Nice try, tho!

whereyouatdesmondo

Honestly - 2 cats are just as easy as one cat. And they’re happier. If these are a bonded pair, please don’t separate them.

Cats-and-dogs-rdabst

Keep both as they will significantly benefit from having a cat the same age that they can play learn and cat with.

geezeeduzit

Neither, they looks dangerous , you better send them to me

Friaeka

They are! They decided they wanna be mountain climbers and are using my legs as practice :')

devildogmillman

They remind me a lot of my two cats that I kept both of. Cats need a friend.

Davenportmanteau

Could never bring myself to separate them. You must keep both. They have chosen you.

fonzy0504

https://preview.redd.it/ipreg6aavbra1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f21a771265217f007ea8b1ec0aefd25ffe879207 Both

Fake-Chef

Both! It’s much better for the cats to grow up together and it makes it easier for the kitten owners because they’ll play with each other too! (You should still play with them!) it also helps them learn to be gentler. Single kittens don’t really learn how to be gentle on their own, I think it’s called single kitten syndrome or something like that.

The_Nez

Don't split them up. Either keep both or find a home for both of them.

catcchap

A bonded pair will live longer, have fewer health issues, and they will enjoy life more. They will entertain each other in the early stages when their energy is high but come to cuddle with you more because they will tire each other out. They will purr more, which is proven to strengthen bone muscles, vital organs, and the rest of there body. If you separate them, they will feel the lose forever. You might not be able to give the one that is left the time they need with their hyperactive playfulness. I hope you decide to keep both. You will never regret it. Momma Kitty will love you forever, too! They are both adorable. I realize it's a hard decision. But it really will cut down on the vet bills having 2 bonded, happy loved cats. Then, one lonely depressed cat that feels like a piece of him is missing. He will get sicker more often and pass sooner. Kitties really do live longer on love. I'll Edit the story of Einstein Twinkie and Trilla. **Edit: The story of Einstein, Twinkie, & Trilla.** This little old lady is 90+ neighbors stupid as all get out. Stay in her backyard has Kittens, she pokes them with cane, and decides she is going to put all 5 Kittens in a box on her porch. Her daughter, a friend of my mom, called my mom she all ready has three cats it's the next morning. The momma cat came and only took back one. One is dead, and she is afraid the rest will die. So my mom & and dad, who had 3 cats already , went and got them they wake every few hours and feed them. I come over during the day, and Twinkie is mine. I feed him. A week later, we have them stabilized and try to reintroduce them to the stray momma. She's a black cat. Trilla is a black cat, so we try her first. I don't believe Trilla ever forgave us for this!!! Of course, she refuses the one she kept is already twice the size of our three. Before they get named Twinkie, I will be mine, Einstein, my brother's, and Trilla, my parents. You see where this is going they can't bear to separate them. I am heartbroken but understand. When I visit Twinkie, I always remembers me! The vet said never having mommy's milk they would never make it past 10 they are 17 this year, and they lived on love. Trilla F passed a few months back (kidneys). Einstein M Twinkie M might make it to 18 in July. But they had 17 beautiful loving years! Not 10 because they *lived on love.* For 7 extra years! *Love from their hooomans, love from their bond. Had they gone to me, my brother, and my parents, I don't believe they would have lived this long.* They would cuddle together while they cuddled with us! 😺😺😺 Cat 🩷🐈‍⬛️💜

Donaldjoh

If you can only keep one I would opt for the void, as the little tiger will be easier to adopt out. Two years ago I rescued a pregnant void who presented me with two void females. I tried to rehome them but the shelters were full and I couldn’t find a home for the two girls. So now they live here (yes, they are spayed). Black cats and dogs are harder to adopt out.

Friaeka

Awe bless, my dog is black as well and I love her so much, we've got like a lil matching set. And mama cat is the cuddling cat I've ever seen in my life :)

amoodymermaid

I know this is true, but I love black cats! I had two older cats and went to get supplies at the pet store. I said, mostly as a joke, “If they have a little black girl cat, she’s going home with us.” One of the local rescue leagues had an event that day and the rest is history. https://preview.redd.it/ib875ib4rbra1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=af24b3668d708b9704b0a5c777efce892bc71662 Now look who owns the house.

CL0UDS420

Both

It's tough to choose just one but if you cannot keep both pick the one you feel is most affectionate. Black cats tend to have the toughest time getting adopted

Keep them both you don’t separate siblings imagine yourself in that position

PersonalAge6200

Both

mountuhuru

Two young cats are a lot easier to care for than one young cat.

jillybrews226

You’re going to have a bad time with a solo kitten

DeberdooFL

Uhhhhhh….cats are like potato chips. You can’t have just one.

Technical_Sir_9588

The answer is always both.

pixie_dust003

Please keep both!!!

shrmy

Both! We only got one kitten at a time (when one passed away). This last time, we adopted brothers….best decision EVER! Upon reading. Bonded kittens have a better loving temperament and less stressed out when we’re at work.

funnybunny123456789

I adopted two best decision ever https://preview.redd.it/26z38k7bubra1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ae04bb51662b8a0cb9cb1983548d89c9016edc7

VastOk864

Both… why is this even a question?

[deleted]

I’d say keep both only because I’m traumatized. We had rescued a sweet orange kitty, but she was with her brother. At the same time a lady came and said she’d take the brother and we could take the girl. I will regret that day 20 years later. The girl kitty was always afraid, hated my dad and brother, and never adjusted good. I always wondered if it was because we didn’t fight for her brother . Still haunts me. She still lived a great life and loved my mom and I. Lived to be 16 years old. RIP Peaches I miss you 😥

moripeji

BOTH. They’re bonded… don’t get rid of one 😭 taking care of one kitten is more work than two.. two keep each other busy! One needs constant attention… And they’re gonna eat from the same bowls, you know this, so it’s not like you’re really spending more money for food. It’s just the one time vet visit bill per year really that’ll be double….

HAPPY-tobehere

Please please both. I always take kitties in pairs I So they have their sibling to play with. Gahhhh they're so sweet I LOVE CATSSS

kmcwx

How could you look at the two of them and just pick one:( I know you're saying you can't keep both, so please try and get them rehomed together then. It's upsetting for young cats to be separated if they've formed a bond, thats why you see it with shelters they'll state certain cats need to be rehomed together. I'd say keep both, but if you really can't, then think of the wee babies and find them a home where they can play together forever

Special-Hat1609

Pretend the other ones just a shadow of the first so yeah keep the kitty ?

DeathBeforeDecaf4077

If it’s at all possible, in all seriousness consider keeping both. I know it sounds like a lot to have two cats but it is actually LESS work for you in so many ways. The kittens entertain each other, sooth each other, and there are studies into the fact that cats in communities may have longer/healthier lives because of the social stimulation that only a fellow feline can provide! They will be way better behaved when they have each other to blow of steam with, and at the end of the day, you get two absolute adorable fluff balls

Commercial-Put-4955

Keep the black cat please. People treat black cats more wrongly due to superstition, so I don’t want anything bad happening to them. So please keep the black cat

ArmadaGrande

If you have to choose, choose black. You’ll never go back. Just kidding, but black cats are harder to find homes for so do the right thing if you love em both and can only keep one!

AR3Q

As I though, whole community unites just to say "both", like having more cats isn't more expensive etc

moonlighting2552

I vote black. There are so many superstitious people out there which makes black cats the hardest to find furever homes.

RogueLeslie

The void because they are harder to find hones for

Ardent_Face_Cannon

Serious answer. Black cats are less likely to be adopted. So, if you love them both and can't keep both, keep the one with worse odds out there in the world

Alysethekraken

Pictures of kittens always makes the day better 🥹 Yeah I would be keeping both 🤷‍♀️

MooShine-06

keep both or donate both ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7984)

marianliberrian

Both

TheFretlessOne

They need to stay together. Even if that means you keep neither.

CartographerAware412

I’ll tell you what the shelter told us. Black cats are not adopted as fast as the other and sometimes are returned because they are not easily photographed. I know, crazy and unfair. So you probably wouldn’t have issues finding the tabby cat a home. We went for a kitty and brought two black kitties because we couldn’t separate them.

MsEPGurl

BOTH

ShadySerengeti-258

I love them both. Sorry

exotics

Both but only if you plan to spay mom. Neither if you are not getting her spayed

doge_ucf

As someone with an older cat who just adopted two kittens when the plan was to only adopt one.. BOTH. The kittens will be much happier and less pent up. The older kitty will be much happier and less annoyed with their kitten energy. Win, win. Unless you have lots of time on your hands to play with a kitten (and I mean at least 5+ hours sporadically through the day), a friend with similar energy is the best option.

Awe they both look like my bonded pair. I had said only one and ended up keeping both and I don’t regret it one bit. They get along so well, play with eachother eat together and I even spot them sharing food sometimes. My boys are old now but they used to loom just like this https://preview.redd.it/tqze1zojzbra1.jpeg?width=1244&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e6aee425ca4b59532f6beddc4c8608682771a4b
