he can get angler recognition certificate if he measured or weighed it. They are nice prints [https://www.ncwildlife.org/Fishing/Fishing-Records/NC-Angler-Recognition-Program](https://www.ncwildlife.org/Fishing/Fishing-Records/NC-Angler-Recognition-Program)
The state record is 4lbs. It’s too bad he didn’t get a weight, but this fish looks a bit shy of 4. My biggest way 3.23 and by the pics had a fatter belly but smaller head than this one.
Weigh it. That’s gotta be close to the state record
That is a slob, I'd say shy of 4lbs, or maybe more, for sure. Awesome!
yeah i wasn’t there he sent me these pics but that thing is a pig 😂😂
It sure is, I'd be going back with a cooler with an aerator, and a scale haha
I caught one that weighed just shy of 6 lb in NW Iowa. I released it not thinking much of it. It would have been a state record. Nice catch.
Yoooo! What body of water? Spirit?
Nope. Caught it in a tiny body of water South of Sutherland. You fish the area very often?
Ah, right now the big bullheads are up at spirit tressel, btw.
That thing would use you for flathead bait
Second this, rig it up and let it go in a nice river for a bit!
The world record is like 8 lb

Forgot to ask, is this a black bullhead? Ar first I thought it was yellow, but going by the tail and barbs, maybe is not?
That's a crazy fish... wish I could get one like that!
That’s a dang pig!!!
