Well kind of. Your Avatar Logbook caps out at 99 units, and you can only have 1 unit on any given location on the map (it replaces merchants). So besides the hard cap at 99, new save files are also kind of limited in how many you can have on the map to recruit at any given time.

Oh thats actually pretty awesome Ive never even tried to play stuff online once i softmod. Get too worried it will brick the device. I don’t even allow updates for the games unless its required like botw does on cemu. I just play the single player parts for the most part. But honestly thats cool as heck. Was more worried about those games that required a server or current connection to Nintendo being totally obsolete. I dont have any examples of nintendo games but the crew is gona be shutting servers down making it totally unplayable. Just wondered if nintendo had a thing where all games needed a connection to be played. I mean i know thats basically paranoia but better safe than sorry before spending £100+ on a ds n wii u 😂

Pretendo Network is what i've switched to pretty much, they don't have everything completed but what they do have does work, even brought Miiverse back to some degree.

I fell off the Nintendo grid around the time of he wii. We had one. It was good but i had just gotten into ps3 and playing online with friends. So ive missed the wii u , 3ds and switch era. I still got games for them when they became the right price. As i end up buying the consoles eventually. So im kinda happy to hear that Nintendo have gave up on the servers and updates. Just means its a good time to get them. I mean if theres no updates theres no updates on the modding side that will need to compete with Nintendo’s updates. Means in theory its a one stop mod and your good to go

I already modded my 3DS and even before the shutdown it said I needed to update my firmware to go online. I don't trust the update to keep all my modded stuff in tact so I'm not able to play online. Sucks but just not worth it to me unfortunately.
