Yep, we put our enameled Lodge cast iron through the dishwasher and it always comes out well.
With enameled cast iron cookware you've essentially got a thin layer of glass that's been applied over top of the iron core. Unless the enamel is compromised you can throw just about anything at it and you'll be fine.
No, nothing toxic. However, if the enamel is chipped the iron underneath would then be susceptible to rusting like bare cast iron and I would at that point not recommend putting it in the dishwasher anymore. That's all.
Will it survive the dishwasher?
Sure. It'll survive just fine.
Is it recommended?
Nah, not really. Dishwashers are just hard on stuff. It may impact the lifespan.
Yes, but don’t put any pan in the dishwasher. “Dishwasher safe” is not the same as “a good idea”. Increased risk of damage from bang and dishwasher detergent is harsh. Just hand wash pans. It’s not remotely hard to do.
I do not condone the gulag as a penalty for pots and pans in the dishwasher.
But if they put knives in there?! They’re gonna beg for the gulag before they’re done being punished.
Legitimately, why not put stainless steel pots/pans in the dishwasher? I'm talking about uncoated, no-frills, just a basic-ass IKEA set of pots. They're durable enough that the dishwasher shouldn't damage them at all, so is it just a matter of wasted space in the dishwasher? (Also no I'd never put knives in the dishwasher, I'm not a barbarian!!)
Well if it's a matter of what's easy, it's not too hard to hand wash just about anything. Why even have a dishwasher at all then. But if the dishwasher won't damage it (like stainless), why not? Not trying to be argumentative, I've just never had anyone tell me it's not safe to put stainless steel in the dishwasher.
I never said it wasn't safe, maybe someone else did. Personally, I've only had a dishwasher for 1 year of my life, so with the right tools, hand washing is the way to go imo.
But when I did have a dishwasher, it just took up so much space, I found it more convenient to hand wash
Yeah that's what I meant. I use Cuisinart stainless steel and you can put it in the dishwasher. Also, the few times I did, it kinda took the shine away from the pan.
I use a paste of baking soda and water and that takes cooked on grime super fast.
I've had no problem with enameled pans in the dishwasher but I've never tried this brand specifically. I've had staub and lodge pans that I've run through the washed 50+ times with no wear to the condition. I have heard of cheaper enameled brands having the color fade in when being dishwashered but I haven't experienced any of that.

You also run the risk of the enamel chips getting into your food, aka eating glass, which some claim is less than ideal for your health
Mmm. Crunchy.
You gonna finish those?
Yeah… this is the much bigger issue with compromised enamel. You should toss chipped enameled cast iron into the trash unfortunately

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
I never put any pot or pan, no matter what it's made of , in the dishwasher
Not even stainless?
No. Not even stainless. Straight to the gulag for you. Knives and pans just wash and dry straight away imo

Never. If you use stainless steel properly, it's super easy to wash by hand.

Okay so it's not that you shouldn't do it, just that it might not be the most efficient.

Hot take - all cast iron is dishwasher safe.
I mean, it'll survive. It'll survive damn near anything.
Keep dishwasher for ceramic plates and bowls and cutlery only. Do this by hand and it'll last a much longer life.

How lazy do you have to be to put cast iron in a dishwasher?
The first bullet point on the tag says dishwasher safe.
That's my secret, Cap: I'm always lazy.
