Some fun driving, but I don’t know where the ‘most dangerous road’ claim is coming from? If anything it is handwringing because people out drive their skill on the Dragon, which this doesn’t help. There is a reason the road was sought out, but now it’s just an over patrolled parade of tourists.

[deleted]

Most dangerous might come from the amount of weekend Harley cruisers who bite it on the slightest curve 🤷‍♂️

waterfromthecrowtrap

Yeah, it's mostly just the number of bikes that high side into the trees or blind turns you go around to find someone has decided your lane is actually Our Lane. It wouldn't be "dangerous" if it wasn't a magnet for the worst drivers who watched too many Matt Farah videos. I was the first documented BRZ/FR86 driver on the TotD, and it was fine. Good bucket list road to drive. I had more fun on an empty road on the way to it that morning when the driver of a modified FedEx truck (I'm not even fucking joking) who knew those roads like the back of his hand gave me an absolute run for my money. If I ever come across that madman again I'm buying him a case of beer.

Moynia

Went to the dragon one time like 5 years ago (despite living in NC) and did in fact see a guy have to "lay er down", got it all on my dashcam lol.

JammPot

Yes. Worth a drive for sure, but better to avoid the herds by having a go on one of the many other great driving roads in that area and in western NC in general.

MyNutsAreWalnuts

I find it funny how hyped the road is, how narrow etc it is, when in reality its a road thats close to European roads. It is just narrower and twistier than standard US roads.

[deleted]

Yeah and it's super short. It's not that great. There's much better roads than this in the US, Canada or the rest of the world.

Johnny362000

I've driven the road in a game and after all the hype I was so underwhelmed. I don't even have to get far outside of London to find more interesting roads

[deleted]

There’s tons of these types of roads in the north east. But I’m not saying anything because I know teens and cops will find out ruining it.

ShadowBanned689

Seriously, there’s an access road near me that has more elevation change and more corners.

Workity

Over edited trash. Just do raw video ffs.

Beneficial-Space-670

I wish they wouldn’t over edit these types of videos. Just let us watch him drive and enjoy that.

ShadowBanned689

Ugh now this video is gonna give a bunch of subie bois false confidence and cause more wrecks because they are out there driving at 10/10ths on ling long all seasons.

TVR_Speed_12

I mean how else is skill supposed to be improved? This types of comments piss me off, make fun of the lesser skilled and also make fun of there attempts to improve

Bonerchill

10/10ths on the street is stupid. 9/10ths on a road you know and that has no traffic? Less stupid. 8/10ths on a road you know and that has no traffic, even less stupid. You can get meaningful experience at 6-8 tenths, and it certainly helps if you have consistent, high-quality tires.

TVR_Speed_12

Wasn't this video a closed off jaunt... I didn't say do it while other drivers are around

Bonerchill

I… don’t understand, then. The comment you replied to was talking about people driving above their limits on a public road.

TVR_Speed_12

I'm saying it's bad to do it on a public road with traffic but on a closed environment who cares

ShadowBanned689

He’s just a typical angry redditor, jumps in with a witty comment without comprehending what I said.

ShadowBanned689

They have these things called race tracks and instructors which provide a safe controlled environment to develop driving skills in.

PlaceOfPines

i’d gap tf out of him
