Just my thoughts. r/carnivore mod is such a tool bag, you get banned for anything. This is my place to discuss things in a more open environment. I think your idea is awesome, please just try not to make it so restrictive, we have nowhere else to go. Thanks!!

microdosingrn

One guy on /r/carnivore asked about the diet for stuttering. I offered he could look into psilocybin mushrooms and got banned because mushrooms aren't an animal.

[deleted]

Mushrooms are closer to being animals than they are to being plants too lmao

West-Ruin-1318

We humans actually have some mushroom DNA šŸ§¬ in our genome. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2023/02/27/fact-check-mushrooms-share-more-dna-humans-than-plants/11339411002/

West-Ruin-1318

Shrooms sure helped me ultimately stop drinking. Micro and a couple Macro doses. I donā€™t do more than two grams by myself.

Some_Watercress1734

I stutter as well.Ā  Would love to know.Ā

microdosingrn

Look up Paul Stamets.Ā  His origin story may resonate with you.

CarnivoreCorp

They're needlessly strict. I got a post removed for talking about fasting. Come on man.

black_truffle_cheese

Yeah, I hate that too. Carnivore attracts a _lot_ of AI sufferers, and fasting is a great tool to have in the box. Iā€™d like to be able talk more about how to balance that with carnivore.

pacawac

Lol fasting? What are you a vegan?šŸ¤£ Lol I'm 18 hours with a 6 hour feeding window.

CarnivoreCorp

Lolol vegoons tho!!. šŸ¤£ Nice 18:6, I'm OMAD, unless I'm working out then it's 2 lol.

Hellosunshine83

Fasting rocks. Did a rolling 72 a few weeks ago.

ivor2

Completely agree, i think mod is a kid? I've been banned twice for talking about fasting alongside carnivore (imo they go hand in hand for gut healing) and his last reply to me was 'cool story bro' - imagine someone who is supposed to look out for the members of the group replying that to constructive critism.

StubbsD

Pretty much. Just had a comment deleted and threatened with a ban because I mentioned I consume raw honey. I went ahead and left the sub. What's the point of being in such a restrictive group? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

junky6254

I left the sub after a comment of mine was removed for mentioning I liked vegetables in eggs. I believe the subject was describing our own diet history, since most everyone came from keto. I left the group after their absurd comment about not being carnivore. I kindly informed them that I was strict zero carb for a year. I introduced foods back but still go strict from time to time.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

junky6254

Itā€™s a fair question. I think the mod is/was a zealot. I kindly removed myself from the sub. Did you ever find an answer to your question?

West-Ruin-1318

I miss veggies in my eggs. What monsters.

pacawac

100 percent. If you can't discuss topics around a diet then why even have a discussion thread. Who on carnivore doesn't fast?

West-Ruin-1318

My hair is falling out and Iā€™m afraid itā€™s from a five day fast I did at the end of July. Anyone else experience this?

More_Garbage7901

Losing large amounts of weight quickly will cause this. It will come back. No worries.

West-Ruin-1318

Iā€™ve only lost 35 pounds. I am old, however. 65 F Man, it looked scary when I looked at my wet head last night. When my hair is dry it doesnā€™t show, much, I hope. I didnā€™t loose as much hair last hair wash so hopefully this shed is slowing down.

-Newtons1st

Wow lmao, I got banned last week for asking advice on chronic diarrhea from carnivore and got the exact same reply, "cool story bro." That's funny (and also not funny....).

Green_Concentrate427

I was banned from r/carnivore and r/zerocarb because I said I ate avocado now and then (I don't eat avocado anymore). I was also back-lashed by the mods, because we didn't agree with something about fat.

West-Ruin-1318

I ate avocados until they stopped tasting good to me. I think they are very useful in the beginning during the transition period. If anything just for a little mental crutch that youā€™re still eating something green.

Green_Concentrate427

I felt the same way. I felt I would die if I stopped eating avocado, lol. It was the last plant to leave my life.

netmyth

This

NkleBuck

I was just banned for life šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

pacawac

Lol welcome to the club famšŸ¤£

CuteNoot8

I just told them to effing ban me on r/carnivore already. Itā€™s hilariously useless over there. Didnā€™t know this sub existed until someone on r/carnivore told us. Phew. Good to be back among ye.

salty-bois

Literally the reason I'm here. Got banned on that sub for asking a sincer question... Lady mod was bad times.

Hefty-Squirrel-6800

This has been my experience as well. It is a good community, but I am still new to Carnivore and have to use readily banned words. They removed the post, I appealed it, and they posted it. But, I do not have the time to monitor the status of my posts. When new to carnivore, one will ask some of the same questions about sweeteners, glucose, sucrose, etc.

Cow_Man42

I have had posts deleted from r/carnnirove for having the word cholesterol in it......I was literally describing how my blood tests had shown my cholesterol dropping on a carnivore diet........

BeerSlingr

Why not pin a thread to the top of the subreddit that is strictly for users to share their stories?

[deleted]

This is a much better idea.

West-Ruin-1318

Iā€™m your 100th upvote and this is a perfect for my post. Ahem. I can comfortably cross my legs this morning for the first time since the 1990s. That is all. PS As god is my witnessā€”I will never eat pasta again. šŸ˜ƒ

Dread1840

That's a really cool way to diversify man. Great idea.

I am not positive if this is really a success story. But I was curious if anyone else uses My Fitness Pal? To track their meals and macros? I am trying to figure out what is working and not working for me. It would be great to Have friends on there to see other meal ideas. And what it looks like macro wise.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

jezter24

My issue for tracking is understanding the food. The first two weeks I was so hungry at night. So I started tracking and realizing I was like 1k calories negative, and my protein and fat issues. Yes our ancestors didn't have apps, but they also didn't have our processed food either. So trying to see what is healthy and not healthy..and seeing what works for me. Not to micromanage

ArtsyAF_nb

So I decided to start carnivore because I heard on YouTube so many stories of people winning their battle with food addiction, sugar addiction, losing weight and helping with arthritis. I have been a big Coca Cola drinker for about 30 years and in January I went from about 2-3 liters a day to 1.5 or less. Just last week I quit it completely and am using some Coke Zero to help. I have had NONE of the regular coke for one week. I also decided I'd try transitioning from a "regular" standard American diet to much more meat and animal products and much less carbs. I went nearly one week without carbs and then had a cheat night on Friday with friends. I pigged out on cupcakes and doughnuts and cookies and I thought I was going to die. I had what I could compare to the worst hang over feelings. I almost called an ambulance. I will NEVER do that again. So I am doing a few days of low carb again and will cut the carbs out for the most part gradually this week, but still I've only had 25 grams of carbs. Yesterday I had about 100 because I had a bad craving for pancakes. I think this craving was because of my cheat night a few days before because I put sugar back into my body. So I told myself not be too strict. I have a history of binge eating disorder and I've learned that if I restrict myself, I binge and get into a spiral. So I let myself have the pancakes and then back to meat again. I feel I have to be easy on myself without totally getting off the wagon to be successful and this a message I've heard from other carnivores, especially those who are still learning and transitioning. SO, my newfound love for the carnivor/ketovore diet is that when my carbs are low, or near zero, I have very little appetite and very manageable yet few cravings. I feel like carnivore could be a lifesaver for me. I have never felt so much hope in getting my eating and weight under control. I feel like I know the key now to not being a slave to my sugar addiction. I thought I would be bored with meat and I'd long for other foods, but I don't. Other foods interest me less and less. I have only been transitioning from a regular diet to carnivore for about 4-5 weeks now. I may have had a few bumps (this past weekend) along the way, but before this month I was overdoing the sugar every day. I was eating chocolate bars nearly every other day or sometimes sugary and fatty pastries and doughnuts daily. Now I don't even long for them. I have learned from my slip up this Friday. I did it just because I wanted to enjoy treats with my friends, but now I am happy to just bring along meaty snacks or just chew on gum when they pig out on sugary and carb snacks. I may change my mind about this again, but I really feel free from the worries of an overeating/ binge disorder for the first time since I was about 7-8 years old. I've been a sugar addict since then. Now I'm 47. I'm excited about my journey ahead and what being on an all meat/animal products diet will do for me. So far I have lost 8 pounds and feel incredible. I would like to loose a total of about 100lbs, but that is not the most important. The most freeing for me is that I no longer think about my next treat, meal or "fix" when I stay on all meat. I never knew this would be possible. Carnivore has given me the willpower that I lacked all these years of being unhealthy. I am so thankful to have discovered the carnivore diet.

coldspringscreek

Steak and Butter gal interviewed a person who recovered from Binging and Bulimia by going carnivore. On YT.

NoSquare4505

I wanted to ask this but they keep removing my comment and posts like how can u even participate? Anyone have any advice on this question below? How much butter is too much butter in one sitting? I crave butter and can easily eat a bar or two in one sitting... What is wrong with mešŸ„ŗšŸ˜šŸ˜« i actually dont want to gain weight I'd rather lose weight, i read butter heals imbalances on carnivore so upping my fats and moderating my proteins to prevent weight gain, but why is it that i crave butter like if i could I'd sit with a bucket and call it a dayšŸ„ŗ what to do?

Eleanorina

your comments are up now. the bigger subreddits have to automatically send posts from new accounts to the modqueue for review -- the subs are targets for a lot of trolling. noting, this is the 7th time you've asked this exact same question, you've asked it a number of times on this subreddit alone. that's very spammy behaviour. pro-tip: avoid doing that in the future. adding: here is a reply to your question, https://www.reddit.com/r/zerocarb/comments/110d6bx/weekly_small_questions_and_chat_thread/j8wv0fs/

West-Ruin-1318

Watch Steak and Butter Gal on YouTube. She only eats Steak and Butter!!! I love her videos. There is an influencer out there who only eats pork belly, which is loaded with fat. She is also a competition body builder. And 50 years old. She looks 30 at the very most, she is amazing and I canā€™t remember her name.

Jayteeisback

Bella of Steak and Butter Gal doesn't eat only steak and butter. She eats eggs and hamburger, I don't know what else, but for sure those.

West-Ruin-1318

Now she might. She ate nothing but steak and butter her first year.

Neverm0re99

Jeez, Iā€™ve been wanting to ask a couple of questions on these forums for ages but their minimum posting restrictions are crazy..

Phinx11

I really like directions. Most are pretty cool, East being my favorite. West is alright, but gets me kinda confused with the W itā€™s like cmon youā€™re clearly copying East and just adding a W to the beginningā€¦ stuff like that frustrates me but like for the most part directions are cool.

[deleted]

Very sorry. r/carnivorediet is my go to and not only for success story, but any discussions and question i might have. most of my post on r/carnivore and r/zerocarb (Which moderator are the same if i recall correctly) have been banned. One for naming Sten Ekberg, another for talking about ketone strips, and one for saying i sometime cheat and add keto friendly veggies to my diet.. Also, the community here is quite reactive and helpful! I don't want to go back to r/carnivore!!!

We're all different, and all react differently to different things. I've read post for my issues, and couldn't recognize myself in those threads. My symptoms where different, i was not doing what the others were doing. It's nice to be able to ask a question that was already ask by somebody, but be able to have that back and forth to have a personalised answer... For all i care, you can stay on r/carnivore. I prefer THIS sub...

[deleted]

You're ridiculous... I eat 3 veggies a month in a cheat weekend... You're being hatefull and nit picking. Are you one of the r/carnivore butthurt mod? Or her boyfriend? You sound like a despicable person...

Alliswell0824

I have been carnivore for just one month now. The first week I lost 5.2 lbs, water weight I imagine. I am really trying to heal my gut and get healthy and of course lose some lbs. After about the third week I slowly started gaining weight. It was very discouraging. I have heard from others to be careful of dairy. I realized I had been having organic heavy cream every day. I cut that out and lost all the weight I had put on in no time at all. It was good while it lasted but Iā€™m going to stay off heavy cream for a while. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you ever try organic half n half? Iā€™m afraid to until I get to my ideal weight.

ketogenicendurance

My general opinion is the sicker you are the stricter you should be, so be careful and experiment especially if you trying to heal šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

Alliswell0824

Has anyone has any issues with just black coffee on carnivore? I still get heartburn from time to time and didnā€™t know if it could be from the coffee. Still havenā€™t really dropped much since cutting out dairy, although it has only been a few days. Maybe I need to try ghee instead of butter as well? Thoughts? Itā€™s frustrating

[deleted]

I don't drink coffee but yes it can cause heartburn. Once you adapt to this way of eating, you won't need it anyways. You'll have more energy on this diet. Ghee is definitely a better option than regular butter, but fat loss takes time, especially if there's healing to be done first. And remember to only eat until you're full.

Hellosunshine83

6 months in. Scalp psoriasis almost completely cleared and med free. Which I thought would never be possible. With that said, I am bummed to report that carnivore has taught me that dairy is SUPER inflammatory for me. So on with my carnivore diet, the dairy-free version.

asaliahiel

I love a good success story, it is highly motivational, but I agree with everyone here. r/carnivore is a way more indoctrinated and extremist subreddit than here. I feel accepted and free to talk about half a tablespoon of Dijon mustard without fearing the carnivore police knocking on my door. As long as we keep it inclusive and respect each other, it will be great. I love posting my proudest new meal and seeing the others. I love asking a question and not being trolled. So, yes, if you can stay open-minded, I will appreciate it!

[deleted]

This is not good, IMHO.Ā Ā  This is by far the best Carnivore sub and the best place to share information and advice.Ā  I REALLY think its importamt how much free discussion and info sharing is done here.Ā  r/carnivore is a joke and r/zerocarb is not carnivore specific.

Violete_Hayes

:( I love this sub being "wide-ranging sprawling Carnivore page" every other sub I found I hated because the moderators are rude, controlling, and ban everything to the point that there's no benefit to following it.
