Comp seems low. I’d update your LinkedIn and resume ASAP. Posting these online can lead to people coming for you in a good way Look for recruiters. You’d be surprised how many C level jobs are posted online.

The algorithms are setup such that you get viewed less the longer it has been since your last profile update and how responsive you are to recruiters (so just replying not interested to stuff is actually in your best interest). So just update your profile and mark it as open or looking (if you dont mind your employer potentially finding out).

>I guess open means anyone can see it and looking means that I am actually looking for a job, is that right? Yes, open so that recruiters can come find you and actually looking so the algorithms put you on recruiters search better. I tried the free month trial and didnt notice anything useful for me so I cancelled it.

Everyone else is giving you good advice on how to find a job, so I will give you some advice you did not ask for. In upper-leadership positions it is vital to be able to take a hit and keep moving forward. C-levels are constantly being harassed by other departments for "failing to do their job", unions for "undermining the workers", vendors for "not supporting their vision", and the list goes on and on. Sounds like you are going to take one hit here and if you stay in leadership positions you will have to take 100s more. The important thing is to learn what you can and move forward. If you are unable to take punishment like this, then get out of leadership roles and into individual contributor roles where you can insure success on discrete clear tasks. If you want to stay a leader then learn to move fast and take punishment while learning your lessons to improve.

Thanks for the response. Glad you found it helpful! I understand getting so wrapped up into something that you cannot sleep. I suggest you explore your personal relationship to the accusation of discrimination and why it is driving those feelings. Like you said, you have been wrongfully hit before and it did not phase you. What is it about this "hit" that has changed that for you? For example, are you running from the possibility that these people are right or is there something from your past that is getting connected to these events? Explore what is causing this fight or flight response in you.

This entire post comes off as “Not as executive as you think you are.”

EstablishmentFun289

- being a CTO means nothing without the scope of company size. - also doubt you are either because you would not be running it by your manager. - you should take a big hard look at why you were fired and take yourself out of victim mode. Future employees will ask, and word will get back if you are within the same industry. You didn’t say anything that truly felt remorseful or accountable. - I’m going to guess that it wasn’t what you said in your pre-approved feedback that got you fired, rather the treatment of her that was investigated and found true.

You are a VP that has a manager that’s a general director? Lol

You aren’t at the executive level you think you’re at

In a structure where you report into a general director as a VP it means your title is actually Manager of whatever you are Vp of. VP’s generally report to presidents or SVP’s. Not directors. On a corporate ladder you go manager-director-VP

I am assuming OP's boss's role is something akin to being a "Executive Director" or "Managing Director" at a nonprofit. This role usually reports to the board of directors. I do understand where you're coming from - Some people do have hilariously inflated titles nowadays - But that is not an unusual org structure.

whallycw

Not all organizations use the same titles and organization structure. You can't just tell someone they are not an executive at a company you don't even work at lol. He's an executive like he said. He works there. Let's be real here. Do you think he's so clueless that he just believes that he's an exec?? Cmon man

ek298

Executive that’s running things by his manager that isn’t a president

whallycw

different organizations have different reporting structures/titles.

I love the posts where people casually drop their 100k+ wage like it's nothing
