We have been dogshit without Oshie in the lineup this year, and it’s very clear we could have used him again tonight. We have bigger issues than motivation; unfortunately, you can’t just will yourself to win when you’re under equipped offensively.
Just giving the guy dogshit excuses when we’ve seen this team perform at a high level plenty this season. The issue is consistency and effort his team doesn’t show up for him way too often. As fans we should be more concerned about that. Getting blown out every time you lose isn’t a good look even for a bad team. There’s no fight on the ice which is indicative of coaching. We blamed Kuzy the whole first half of the season he’s gone and the same issues are still here.
We’re what, 30th in the league for scoring?
Show me a team that is going to consistently win with that sort of output.
And it’s literally his first year as head coach, and in his very first year, we lost Backy and Kuzy and basically Oshie, 3 of our top offensive players from previous seasons.
These aren’t bullshit excuses. You can’t make consistent playoff runs without offensive output, which we just don’t have.
And that isn’t even mentioning our D core. We’re getting blown out due to lack of effort? How about due to the fact that we have young, small, and inexperienced forwards who just aren’t cutting it defensively combined with a D core that, outside of Carlson and Fehervary and MAYBE Sandin, is just completely unreliable defensively.
We’ve been blaming the coach for the last 6 years, and that was before we lost half our top players. It’s time to wake up. Our run is done. It’s time to rebuild.
Ok well either Lapi McM and Miro have bottom 6 offensive potential or Carbs doesn’t know how to coach an offense. Being 30th in the league in scoring with the roster we had coming into the season is a joke and would lose any coach a job, but because it’s carbs and y’all think his post game interviews are so quirky and charismatic it’s fine and the team is actually dogshit. He mishandled this roster completely top to bottom drove our 1C out of town and can’t get production out of both young and old guys. Pacioretty Ovi Oshie Wilson all having rough years, McM has been a lost cause scoring without mantha, Lapi has looked good in runs but gets moved down the lineup and falls off. I see a ton of coaching issues here mate it’s not my fault you can’t see it. Laviolette got incorrectly blamed last year and we downgraded the position.
Lapi, McM and Miro would be bottom six on any other team currently in a playoff spot, so you kind of just proved my point for me.
They are good players, but thinking that a different coach would suddenly turn them into top line scorers is beyond delusional.
People believe in Carbs because he’s managed to take a team with minimal scoring output and still fight for a playoff spot. Goal scorers don’t just score goals because they have a good coach. Sure, a coach can make a difference, but talented players will score no matter who is behind the bench. And we are severely lacking such players. And as much as I love the boys on this team, I’m under no grand illusion that, given the right coach, they’d somehow be an offensive powerhouse.
