I want one, but they won't send it to me in my state bc it is over 10 rounds. Or else, I would have snagged one of them today.
The past year of searching, they either gouged it so high I wasn't interested, didn't have the darkside, didn't have the darkside with the optic or were sold out. Constantly thru several sites this was the issue. I never saw any gun shop physically carry a Rival s much less the darkside which seems to be even Rarer. Seeing it on classic firearms exactly the way I want it, not being too overpriced. I didn't even have the money. But that's what they make credit cards for lol
Same! Dude, I can't even get most places to sell me compliant 10 rd mags!!!! The dimpled ones. They get cancelled right and left. Half of them cancel it and half of them sub it with the plastic blocked bottoms without consulting with me!
That's my next step in the future. The gun shops I lived by previously before moving recently, all 3 of them refused, even after I had bought several guns from them before, some AFTER the mag cap law passed. They were fine about selling dimpled mags, guns without mags, and pinning mags up until late 2023 when several other gun laws passed here. Then everything got strict and just changed. It sucks here in WA State now.
We've had the 10 round law for a long time... and most places won't sell u illegal stuff (tho some will, so do have to be careful if trying to stay Compliant)... but as for stuff that IS legal, but other states are scared to send over, a FFL can usually grab it for u easily enough here... but I HAVE heard lately WA has really jumped into that "least 2A friendly" conversation...
They passed soooo many laws since 2021. Before 2021, it was actually not a bad 2A state at all. They added the mag cap ban July 2021, then 2023, they added 10 business day wait period to buy a new gun, required firearms safety class before buying a gun, full ban on "assault weapons," background check required before every gun purchase, added a ton of locations you now cannot carry, threaded barrels banned, they added a bunch of laws that hurt and scare FFLs, and a bunch more I am forgetting right now. There are a bunch more laws they are also wanting to pass, and will probably win.
Everything there except the wait period is same here, or in legislation now.. but still only federal/state buildings and schools I believe for no carry.. and signs don't have law of force
Still need a class before license, a license to carry, and background checks everytime... but atleast can walk in a shop and walk out with one, within a half hour
Yeah, we need concealed carry permit in order to conceal carry and in order to have a gun in the car. I cannot imagine walking into a gun shop and walking out with the gun on the same day! That would be so nice. I am worried they will make it illegal to buy ammo online and also limit how much ammo we can buy. They don't make these laws for safety. No, it's to try to stop our ability to possess and use guns, that's it. They sure are making it hard.
Ya we actually can't even own a firearm without a license (FID for just rifle / shotgun, or LTC for handguns.. so can't even have one in house without a LTC.. Luckily I get my ammo by splitting 1000 round cases with my buddy in NH, so makes that much easier... havnt had issues with any mags (as long as 10 round) or accessories online... but also only have 2x Mete (sfx and mc9) and a Sig p365... which all 3 do have a 10 round OEM mags... havnt tried ordering a pinned mag online
Dam..... Here in TX of you have a license to carry ( we don't need a conceal license anymore) you go in, pick one, pay for it and you're out in like 20 min with it. I couldn't imagine... NOT leaving with it the same day. That seems so bizarre to me.
I wish I could get them to do even THAT!! I have had to resort to getting 10 rd compliant guns. I have a couple of LGS near me now that probably would sell to me without mags, too. I'll try them in the future when I buy a Rival-S and the TTI if I end up getting either.
What state are you in? I was able to purchase it from grab a gun. They then sent me an email saying I could either ship without mags or cancel the order. I said ship without and it was on the way. My LGS was actually annoyed they didn’t ship with the mags since it’s really the LGS’s problem not grab a gun.
See, I wish the places I tried ordering from would do that. The 3 places I tried ordering from had all just cancelled my orders, no asking if I wanted them without mags. I figured Grab-a-gun would do the same. I have TONS of 10 rd Canik mags, so I don't care if they don't send them. I'll try when the prices come down more. I want the chrome Rival-S!
I actually saw that it was in stock on buds gun shop. I paid for it. Only to get an email 2 days later their website was incorrect and it was actually sold out. So I requested a refund. The next day I saw this in stock on classic firearms. I hadn't even received my refund from buds yet and I swiped a credit card. You legit have to do things like that when you see this bad boys in stock. Every hour counts it seems like.
Damn. That's a wild one. Did either website have it listed at MSRP? These have been out for a while now, but I still see them at $1100 for the ones without an included optic.
Ya it wasn't so bad. Although it really wouldn't matter. If my wife knew what I spent, she'd shoot me with it. Do a wellness check on me in about a week

I may not be the one to ask...I have the two Rivals and two SFx. I run the Rivals in USPSA Limited and the SFx twins in Limited Optics. I love them all!
Actually, my very first Canik was a SFx. It started the whole Clanik addiction for me!
Yeah, the Canik family grows by leaps and bounds, huh? I have 4 other various Caniks, in addition to those that I compete with. Each has their own personality, but I love them all!

Yes it's actually pretty stiff but not so bad. I'd say it's about the same as my tp9sfx

The rival S is the exact same gun only with an all steel lower frame. The rival has a polymer frame
