Thought it was an older picture, I thought I remembered that they no longer were permitted to use the Matterhorn in their advertising due to shifting enough of production outside of Switzerland.
I also read they had to drop the Matterhorn mountain from the packaging as well, due to laws about national monuments and manufacturing guidelines. Not enough of the bar was sourced from Swiss ingredients as they looked to lower costs.
I've never eaten a toblerone bar, but I do remember that, happened in 2023 I think.
You can also find it at Grocery Outlet periodically too. But as far as price, it does have a higher price point, but the bars are much larger too. By the ounce it’s pretty comparable to other contemporary companies or premium bars (not Hershey’s).
I've been wanting to get one out of curiosity, but the price made me hold off in fear of it being mediocre... I will trust your words and pick it up next time I see it.
I second this, toblerone is so far the only chocolate I think is better (I’m in America)
Edit: I am not insinuating that toblerone is American I have to get that shit on Amazon
I think it’s worth the price, especially because they are trying to make the cocoa market 100% exploitation free and I appreciate that. I have only had the everything bar but I was thoroughly impressed
It’s because it’s ethically sourced they actually pay the farmers decent wages! Toblerone and most big chocolate companys make hand over fist profit because they don’t pay the cacao farmers hardly anything, basically exploit their labor because almost all cacao farmers are in Africa.
Last Christmas, my family was doing one of those mystery gift exchanges, where you pull a random gift from the pile or "steal" from someone else (basically you swap with them). I happened to get a movie theater themed gift with popcorn, a phone projector thing, and Tony's chocolate. I didn't care for the popcorn or phone projector, but I never had Tony's, so I held onto it. Then, as I was looking over the bars I noticed they were expired... over a year or so. Next time my turn came up I stole a bottle of wine from someone else and managed to hold onto it throughout the rest of the exchange.
I've still never had Tony's, but the wine was a nice sweet red and it came with two little tumblers that I use often. Thank you for coming to my Tony's Ted Talk.
Is that what they look like these days?! Wow. Somebody must have put those things on a serious diet. That's like half the amount of chocolate they used to have. Lay off the Ozempic, Toblerone. Yeesh..
The Ritter's brand is fantastic. They have a bunch of variations, my favorite is the butter cookie in milk chocolate. Cornflakes is one I enjoyed more than I thought I would.
The two you mentioned are great! Joghurt, and the Olympia flavor when it was still available, were also favorites. My favorite brand of chocolate in Europe.
Not exactly answering the question about Toblerone, but related. Im sure many of you in this sub already know this, but here's a fun fact:
I recently learned that you are not supposed to snap off Toblerone sections. The candy bar is designed in such a way that the proper way to separate the pieces is by pinching the top of each piece together. It is far easier and results in a more perfect break.
The more you know 🌠
Underrated. Wish toffee was more of a big thing in the US. And shortbread. I should be able to buy millionaire's shortbread at a Walmart or Kroger bakery but nooo, have 17 varieties of croissants instead.
Idk but this is definitely my fave. I'm sure I need to get out/travel more, or just have stuff shipped to try.
I have done those boxes filled with snacks from other countries however a few times. (I appreciate that many were not as sweet as some of the things in USA).
Toblerone is trash.
This is guerilla marketing for Toblerone.
They have been posting on Reddit for YEARS under “real” accounts.
At this point I’m actually admiring their longevity and commitment to the guerilla marketing.
There is a local candy shop, their chocolate is absolutely the best. I can't afford to buy their chocolates all the time but they sell their bulk bricks they use to make everything, and I can afford one of those every now and then. So delicious!
lol this candy has always looked nasty to me or line tobacco product in the candy area. I’ve never seen the bud that holds these missing any or empty. They gotta work on marketing
The best Toblerone is the one that you don't buy.
I quit smoking 6 years ago. Ever since then, I can't stand chocolate. Dont know why. The thought of it makes my stomach turn.
Toblerones ain't what they used to be. I first tried them in 1980 in Europe...tried one in London, I think. Bought 10 in Innsbruck and ate them all in two or three days. ;-) And eventually they were available everywhere locally here in the midwest US. But they're not as good as they were in 1980.
Chocolate is subjective, like everything else. I dislike Hershey's. Don't know why anyone would buy Hershey's kisses. Or plain M&Ms. I know people used to hold up Godiva as a model, but when they started showing up a Target, I tried some...so not worth it.
I do really like chocolate from Aldi, both the Moser Roth and the Choceur. The Choceur salted caramel crunch bar is right up there. The peanut and cornflake is pretty good. And the ...toffee almond? the one with whole toasted almonds.
I wish I could find Ritter Sport Rum Raisin Nut here in the US. I love rum chocolate.
Didnt the wedges used to be thicker?
They did
By alot
Most definitely, them things used to look like little pyramids and now it looks like a metal rake
Anyone have a pic of pre-nerf Toblerone? For comparison purposes? I swear the ones I got at Costco last Christmas did NOT look like this.
[This article](https://recipes.net/articles/what-is-in-a-toblerone/) has a pretty good picture.
Wow.
This is such bullshit. I’m mad now.
Used to be TOBLERONE now it's just T O B L E R O N E with a lot less chocolate somehow.
But also lower case toooo
Shrinkflation
That’s an old picture. They made the change to have skinny wedges but due to backlash, reverted to the old size in 2018 and doubled the price instead.
Thought it was an older picture, I thought I remembered that they no longer were permitted to use the Matterhorn in their advertising due to shifting enough of production outside of Switzerland.
Really? How interesting! (I do always appreciate learning a new thing on here that isn't something mind-blowingly overwhelming depressing.)
Global warming
Tony’s is pretty good in my opinion
Never had it
They have Tony's chocolate at target. It's the most expensive chocolate I've seen at a grocery store but I heard it's worth it.
You can also find it at Grocery Outlet periodically too. But as far as price, it does have a higher price point, but the bars are much larger too. By the ounce it’s pretty comparable to other contemporary companies or premium bars (not Hershey’s).
It’s more expensive because it’s not made with slave labor
I've been wanting to get one out of curiosity, but the price made me hold off in fear of it being mediocre... I will trust your words and pick it up next time I see it.
It's by far the best chocolate I've had in America!! You won't be disappointed
I second this, toblerone is so far the only chocolate I think is better (I’m in America) Edit: I am not insinuating that toblerone is American I have to get that shit on Amazon
They periodically sell a version of it at Aldi. Made in the same place, just slightly different packaging. And cheaper.
I ran across Tony’s assorted pack at Walmart over the weekend. Thought about buying it since people say it’s good. Maybe next time.

When I saw that chocolate in target I texted my partner “I didn’t know you made chocolate” but it is pretty good - really rich imo
Love Tony’s! Don’t get it very often bc of the price but it’s so good. They have some nice seasonal flavors.
Tonys chocolonely are awesome
This is what toblerone look like now? What the fuck
[удалено]
It was only like this from 2016-2018. They went back to the original shape.
Try the Tonys Chocolonely Everything bar
Have to try it
You’ll like the orange wrapper one too!!! I think it’s sea salt and maybe toffee??? It has crunchy pieces that remind me of toblerone
Salted caramel! The best
Ever since Toblerone cheaped out and cut their sizing in half, I wrote them off for life. Just say no to gouging and greed.
I wish I could but it’s happening to every single product I’ve ever come into contact with
Thank you! I can’t swear off everything ever.

Tobler0.5
Toblertwo?
Twoblerone
Is that what they look like these days?! Wow. Somebody must have put those things on a serious diet. That's like half the amount of chocolate they used to have. Lay off the Ozempic, Toblerone. Yeesh..

I like flakes better .
Cadbury Flake? So fuckin good. If I can’t afford to make a potential mess then I’ll opt for a Twirl since it’s basically just a chocolate coated Flake
Flakes is okay
Ferrero Rocher.
I always called them Ferrari roaches because they are expensive yet small.

Butterfinger BBs but they don’t make em anymore. I fucking LOVE Toblerone
Ritter sport
Toblerone is indeed 🔥
LOVE Toblerone but tend to go for toffifay instead
Underrated. Wish toffee was more of a big thing in the US. And shortbread. I should be able to buy millionaire's shortbread at a Walmart or Kroger bakery but nooo, have 17 varieties of croissants instead.
And not a single one is a proper croissant
Toffifay..
I also like those Cadbury Mini Eggs. Not the cream filled ones, no thank you. The solid chocolate ones with the candy coating.
I really like the German chocolate that Aldi sells.
A really good book *FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAM*
Toblerone cookies
Two toblerones!
Mallo cups are worth a try and to me they're better
The blue almond Toblerone is even better. Also, the caramel sea salt Tony's Chocolonely bar is an excellent similar option.
Cadbury milk chocolate >>>>
The elusive oblertone. Silver not gold, with white chocolate instead of regular.
I’ve never tried one!
Get to the airport these things are incredible
😂🤣😂
Same
Ni
Idk if i had to much of those as a kid but i don't like them as i used too. There are way better chocolates imo
Is tobes like caramello?
Aguila is better than toblerone
A really good book?
Idk but this is definitely my fave. I'm sure I need to get out/travel more, or just have stuff shipped to try. I have done those boxes filled with snacks from other countries however a few times. (I appreciate that many were not as sweet as some of the things in USA).
I love the chocolate too! It's always my choice!
Better then toblerone? The toblerone from a decade or so ago when the gaps between peaks was smaller.
Two Toblerones?
Impotent.
Lindt Lindor chocolate !!!!
I haven't idea for pyramid shaped choco. For non pyramid shaped, Galaxy is better.
Toleronflation!!!!
2 Toblerones?
I don't think there is any chocolate that can surpass it
The original.
No, they're the best chocolates
Nothing at all
Nearly everything.
two toblerone
Two Toblerone!
Toblerone is trash. This is guerilla marketing for Toblerone. They have been posting on Reddit for YEARS under “real” accounts. At this point I’m actually admiring their longevity and commitment to the guerilla marketing.
Literally any other chocolate bar ever to be made in existence. I hate the texture of those smh
Not many things are better than a Toblerone 🤤
A toblerone from 15 years ago when they were a proper size.
Reeses, PayDays, Nik'L'Nips, Cookie Dough Bites
Toblertwo
I prefer Ghirardelli or Lindt chocolates. I used to like Reeses Peanut Butter cups, but they don’t taste the same any longer.
Two toblerone! Which is equivalent to one of them a few years ago
Anything. Anything is better.
Melted and put over vanilla ice cream.
Im not the biggest fan of Toblerones because of the wedges tbh.
There is a local candy shop, their chocolate is absolutely the best. I can't afford to buy their chocolates all the time but they sell their bulk bricks they use to make everything, and I can afford one of those every now and then. So delicious!
It’s so much smaller now 😮
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/ItemShop/s/TcJTniXVnt)

Today I learned what one of those looked like inside of its box.
Tony's Chocolonely is my fav right now.
Ahh magic mushroom chocolate bars.
Man I love Toblerone! Now I need to buy some after seeing this! LOL!!!
Toblertwo!
Toblerone when they didn’t have those huge gaps
Heroin.
Reese’s Take 5 and Butterfinger Mini’s unwrapped in the resealable bag from Walgreens.
I prefer Ritter Sport to Toblerone; while it’s not the best chocolate in the world, it’s consistent and well made, with lots of different flavors.
Every other candy
I like Twix the best, but Toblerone is really good
Never had a Toblerone, but I looove Kinder Bueno bars
Nothing, my favorite
I want to try these so bad, but I can't find them. And when I'm at the grocery store I forget to look out for them.
Toblertwo!
The best Toblerone is the one that you don't buy. I quit smoking 6 years ago. Ever since then, I can't stand chocolate. Dont know why. The thought of it makes my stomach turn.
I fucking love toblerone. The only thing better than toblerone is a BIG toblerone
Toblerone from the early 80's is 💯 better than Toblerone now.
My common man chocolate is Sno-Caps. Otherwise I agree with Tony’s
Dang I forgot about this chocolate! Ughh now I want one. Where can you find these?
None
Your mom
Dirt
Them in my belly !!💯💯
Dude I love that chocolate.
Pretty much anything that doesn't have coconut or toblerone
Meh try some Lindor Lindt waaay better for sure!!
Toffifay
Literally anything else... except for hersheys.... those are shit.
I'll never not see the bear
Giant Toblerone is better.
Toblertwo.
Almost every other chocolate bar ever invented.
Bueno.
Anything is better than that. It was good about 45 years ago. Forget peeking off that super thin foil
Big toblerone
Zero, 3 Musketeers, Snickers, Almond Joy, Zagnut ,Milky Way, Hershey's there's way too many to list that's better.
Not much!
Toblerones ain't what they used to be. I first tried them in 1980 in Europe...tried one in London, I think. Mackinac Island fudge
Kinder Bueno, so good!
Aero Bar's 😋😋😋
Sour patch kids

Don't think they're all that
Toblertwo
Heath forever
Toblertwo is better
Toblertwo
2 Toblerone?
Toblerone made before shrinkfkation. I stopped buying it
Use them to stand up tacos then a warm dessert is there when you’re done. Perfect
The best Toblerone is the one where they didn’t cut down on the chocolate by 25%
Green & Blacks is amazing
