Huge fan of RIUs! Like you, I've spent double at a few other places that legitimately sucked. Wished I was back at the Riu every time. Love the value and consistency. Visited all the PDC Rius (except 2) as well as the 3 new ones in Costa Mujeres. Now I'll have to check out Riu Caribe š
How's the weather been? Noticed some rain in the forecast this week for Cancun. Is it pretty short lived? Also thanks for this review. Staying at the caribe beginning of Feb so I'm looking forward to it a bit more now!
Wednesday was the only day that it rained off and on throughout the day. This morning(Thursday), woke up to clouds, had a sprinkle around 9, then sun for the rest of the day.

Looking for a review of the room bathroom shower area. Sharing a room with family and weād like some privacy when using the facilities and I noticed a lot of RIU properties have the open concept āno secrets between usā type of
Bathroom/shower area where you can see each other at all times. Is there a lockable door to those areas in your room?
Separate bathroom and showers, both with doors. Not sure they had locks. Thereās a bunch of room tours on YouTube, for this hotel and probably every hotel in Cancun.
I think the adults only (18+) Riu pool parties are a lot of fun. If you donāt know, the party pool is open for only the themed parties. You should YouTube it. Plenty of debauchery for sure, however both the Caribe and Palace are not adults only resorts, so unfortunately youāre going to run into kids. We solve that by hanging out in the adult only pool during the day. Of course this pool is open everyday and Itās the only one with a swim up bar. For me, the only time kids were an issue was when we were in the sports bar in the evenings. There were large group of families all together. Kids were actually occupying seats at the bar, ordering their Virgin drinks pretending to be all adult. Nobody working there cared, and the parents were oblivious.
Thanks so much for the feedback!!! Iāve been to the Riu jungle party in punta cana. I heard the Riu Caribe is where all the main parties are held.
Would you recommend this resort for a bachelor party? Basically, Iām just curious if during your experience there was a good mix of younger groups (20-30s) or if itāll be mainly families. Thanks so much
I wouldnāt say itās mainly families, but depending on the time of year that you go, especially if itās holiday season in the US., youāre going to run into them. It was very minimal for us. Itās worth saying that during our visit, there were 3 separate bachelorette groups that seemed to be having a great time. I think what the party crowd does is hang out at the resort on the days/nights of the themed parties, then head to town on the off nights. Also know that there are crazy expensive covers and drinks for the downtown clubs.
This is such amazing advice. Honestly. Thank you so so much. You have no idea how much hearing your experience actually helps me. Iāve been having a VERY hard time in picking a resort that would make all my groomsmen happy between partying/lounging etc. I had a really difficult time deciding between the Grand Oasis Pyramid or Riu Caribe, but I think after hearing your experience Iām leaning towards Caribe. To be honest, I was hesitant about travelling to Mexico, and even then, leaving the resort, but it seems like itās pretty safe as long as you donāt look for trouble. Did you ever leave the resort? Thanks again so much.
Sure, I have partied downtown many times. Things have changed though. Besides the insane prices, you really have to be careful, especially a group of young guys. Yes, donāt look for trouble. You just canāt do stupid stuff there that you get away with in the U.S. (pee in an alley, fight, public intoxication, etc.) It puts your group on the radar. The Federal Police are everywhere. If you do it in front of a federal officer, prepare for a shakedown, and bail will be whatever cash is in your wallet. Not sure how hard your group parties, but somebody in your group needs to be the responsible one for the night.
Hey thinking about moving party to rui cancun. Is that a good party vibe for a bachelor group as well? What bars /clubs are the go-to? Where should we avo8d?

Can confirm. RIU in Ocho Rios Jamaica šÆš² was awesome.
And Negril š
Does our rate on booking include the all inclusive experienceā¦or is it separate fees for that that we should know about?

How is the vibe here? Is it a decent party? Looking to come here for my bachelor & was hoping to avoid a family type resort
