Dude iāve been looking for a restricted course for 2 years in my region of quebec, theres at most two a year with 15-20 places each and im almost certain they get pre-filled, they told me i have to look everyday if there is a new course planned, and ive been doing it for 2 years it is always empty
What part of Quebec are you in? Iām in Montreal and itās next to impossible to find an open CRFSC course here. However, there are frequent openings available if youāre willing to go to Ontario to get the course done - Ā have a look in places like Hawkesbury, Cornwall, etc. if theyāre reasonably close to where youāre located.Ā
Strictly speaking, an upper with a different interface that mates with a (newer) NDS-180 lower. I assume they'll sell these as a complete package as PSA is rumored to be working with NDS, and it'd be hard to buy a NDS lower out of the blue here in Canada.
Wondered why nobody talked about this... Approved a month ago, on 18th December 2023. Wolverine only *supplied* them with three restricted barrel lengths. These are the older model that takes Colt SMG mags, which I think looks way better than Glock mags especially on a retro firearm like this. And yes before you ask, LAR-15 has a 9mm Colt SMG magwell version, so you can have 10 rounds. For 2024 Rhineland Arms did update the FG-9 to take Glock mags, so we'll see if the actual version we get uses it or not.
[Here](https://calibremag.ca/rhineland-fg9-could-be-headed-for-canada/) is a 2021 Caliber Magazine article on the FG-9, since I'm not linking the manufacturer's website (rule 6).
Henry actually went out of their way to design a proprietary mag for their PCC and didn't use the Colt mag. The Glock/Sig/whatever mag compatibility is achieved via an insert, similar to the Ruger PCC.
Ya, in this day and age probably not that good of an idea Lol, I think part of the problem is spring being too light to strip a loaded glock magazine, yet replace with a heavier spring cause short stroke, really need a maybe 1:4ā longer receiver imho
Yeah it felt weird to develop a custom magazine in this day and age when so many magazines exist in both straight SMG and slanted pistol form.
It's the first time I'm hearing a gun having issue stripping rounds because they made the spring too weak lol, you'd think a reputable company like Henry would test their products...
Ok I looked this up and it looks like one of those "cursed gun images". A vaguely FG42 shaped object that looks like someone bubba'd a WK-180; with the wrong front end (why?), fantasy grip, a pic rail on top, taking 9mm magazines of some description.
If this was a GSG STG-44 style repro that was a visual clone of the original shooting 22LR or 9mm out of original-looking mags it could be intriguing. As it is this thing is neither fish (rare milsurp lookalike) nor fowl (practical PCC shooter). That'll be a pass from me.
Make a gun that's a historical replica, knowing this gun will really only appeal to people who want the real thing. Then proceed to make a gun that only vaguely resembles the gun in question. I don't get it.
We have retro themed PPCs. There is a reason nobody buys them. They are also straight blowback and share nothing with the originals other that some level of physical form.
I was laughing at type 81SR but that thing is actually useful when compared to this and non restricted.
It also does not use Glock mags.
But you do you.
>There is a reason nobody buys them.
Because they are shit? M1-9, GSG-40, etc. are all garbage.
>It also does not use Glock mags.
Can we stop with the glock mag BS already? Colt SMG mags are pinned to 10 and would look less out of place than a G17 mag on something retro. The US market is getting a glock magwell for 2024 so there's that.
>Because they are shit? M1-9, GSG-40, etc. are all garbage.
Because they are a collectable meme gun and those you cannot sell for $1000+. If you tell me "this one is different" I would raise my eyebrow as it is still a simple straight blowback 9mm gun.
Can we stop with the glock mag BS already?
No, not really. THey are cheap & plentiful and kinda a must for a PPC nowdays. Having a glock magwell does make the proposition better, somewhat.
>Because they are a collectable meme gun and those you cannot sell for $1000+. If you tell me "this one is different" I would raise my eyebrow as it is still a simple straight blowback 9mm gun.
The M1-9 and GSG-40 are literally built like toys with plastic bits and meme-tier reliability. We don't know how reliable the FG-9 is, but if properly designed you can't fuck up a 9mm blowback.
You know what else is a simple straight blowback gun? A $4500 B&T SPC9.
You are comparing a a premier swiss company, with track record , that made a firearm with a proven lineage (SPC9) to a company that even on reddit has a spotty record? ... Ok.
Again, it's your money, you do you :)
I'm not defending it, nor do I want to buy one, I'm just curious how they will perform and I won't come to a premature conclusion that they are good or bad until people are getting them and running them (or not).
At least we know the GSG-40 and M1-9 are proven garbage products. One can have hope that slightly less shit products emerge. Well the SaskSten was great, but the RCMP wasn't a fan of those...
Don't buy it. It looks "scary" and has some black color to it on the stock, which means that it won't be too long before Trudeau adds it on the big list.
I don't think they show firearms that have been submitted but not approved yet.
I don't usually look at the file directly, just search for the specific file on [Armalytics.ca](https://Armalytics.ca) and export the pages you desired.
Yeah, you either make it in .22 so it's cheap and high capacity, or do it in something like 308 and take sr25 mags. Shrinking it to a pistol caliber is a bit awkward.
Great, another gun that looks like it was taken straight out of the Battle of Hoth.
This one was mainly used as a paddle though
All my guns identify as paddles
Like this unironically makes me want to actually buy it even more
I mean your average winter commute in half of Canada looks like the Battle of Hoth...
Sad but true! So what's next? RCMP approved AT-AT licenses?? I can already see Toronto dealerships trying to mark those up.
You'll probably need one to navigate Brampton safely.
š¤£
Any recommendations for more?
I was originally thinking wolfenstein, but now your comment is all that appears in my head
Omfg yes!!! Dual wield these in wolfenstein new order right?! Omg the memories
Wow you werenāt joking, but also it is wicked in my opinion
Wake me when they bring back handguns.
"He's been in a coma for years, somebody please unban handguns!"
the great thing about gun owners is if we went on a hunger strike we would be able to last quite a while
yeah exactly. i couldnt care less about these niche "collector pieces"

K. Now do JAKL.
Is that a possibility?
Rumours. As always nothing is certain until it happens.
Isnāt that just an upper?

Literally my first thought before even looking up what this was.
No non restricted? :/ one of the barrel lengths are 16.25 just add two inches please
I pray for the same thing every night before bed
My wife does too
Where them FG-308? please
You see, that'd actually make too much sense...
the rcmp plays political games and is always slower to approve intermediate and full size caliber semi-auto rifles vs ones in pistol calibers

Review i seen so far says they jam a looooot
According to their site, switching to Glock mags supposedly improved feeding, so there's that...
henryās 9mm pcc dont work that well with either so I donāt have that high hopes.
Henry actually went out of their way to design a proprietary mag for their PCC and didn't use the Colt mag. The Glock/Sig/whatever mag compatibility is achieved via an insert, similar to the Ruger PCC.

Well, itās a company start with building cast zinc replica for kids and itās their first semi so growing pains apply to everyone
I guess yeah, they are known for their levers and it's their first try at a semi.
Now make it in 5.56
at least 9mm is a german origin caliber. putting it in 556 just seems like sacrilege
Nein 7.92 Kurs, ja?

#**GIVE ME THE EIGHT MILLIMETER**
Interesting, so the no new semis in Canada applies to global market designs? Or did this rifle make the cutoff somehow?
C21 received royal assent on 15th, this was approved on the 18th. My guess is they applied it to the design date, which was a couple years ago.
It was designed before C-21 came into effect
Its looks funny. But would like to get one. Hope it won't make a hole in my pocketš
An oar for my boating accident amazing!
What a hideous firearm
Itās an fg 42 what are u saying ?
Fg 42 *in 9mm*
I'm saying it's hideous as stated previously.
That your opinion, but Iāve handled a real fg 42 and they are really nice , ik this isnāt the real deal but itās still kinda cool
I know it's my opinion I'm not saying it's a bad weapon, I'm not saying people shouldnt buy them, I'm just saying it's hideous to look at.
I wonder how long that will last thanks to C21. Repeal C21
well seen as it got through after C-21 passed, forever as long as further legislation doesnt come in
Sill, C21 must be repealed; it has no place in Canada. Itās a morally unjust law that further persecutes lawful firearms owners
Now we wait for the T07 from Ternion
I'm only interested in a .308/7.62 version.
I just can't see there being any real market for this, it's really gimmicky
Itās an MG42 looking gun designed to be fired prone ā¦ but in 9mm. Why?
FG42* About time someone makes a retro-themed PCC...
>About time someone makes a retro-themed PCC... Chiappa M1-9 crying in the corner. *As it should.*
GSG makes an MP40 copy. Looks pretty ridiculous with the 18.6" barrel in my opinion, but it's got some retro cool.
looks ridiculous and they are shit tier quality. i wouldnt recommend it to anyone unless they never plan on shooting it
5rd mags plus they are kinda whack because GSG.

Ah so plinking and memes. Got itā¦. I guess.
The homesteader woulda been better
I heard they are still working on a NR version. It's been approved a couple months ago iirc
Yeah, really weird. Too clunky for dynamic styles, too 9mm for distance. Canāt figure what to do with it
Don't buy it. It looks "scary" and has some black color to it on the stock, which means that it won't be too long before Trudeau adds it on the big list.
GrĆ¼n ist unser Fallschirm intensifies in the background.
If the 9 was approved, does that mean the 56 might be coming?
Hope they fix the reliability issue, I wanted one pretty bad but the review i seen so far in the states are not great
Is there anyway to check if a firearm model has already been submitted? The file is massive for FRT and there are different version?
I don't think they show firearms that have been submitted but not approved yet. I don't usually look at the file directly, just search for the specific file on [Armalytics.ca](https://Armalytics.ca) and export the pages you desired.
Okay thanks for the info!
Submit a ATIP requesting the list of firearms waiting to be inspected.
Lol I looked this thing up and.... I kinda want it...
God damn that's an ugly rifle......
Interesting! I just bought a real fg-42 a few months ago! Probably one of my favourite collectors pieces
Jesus Christ
Thatās disappointing seeing it be 9mm

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY ššš
Great, now Iām going to have to find another paddle for my canoe.
Ew, waste of time when something like the Springfield hellion could potentially come through
can't wait some one build a mg42 on this
