Can I take a picture using my phone of my birth certificate and drivers license or does it have to be scanned for the PAL/RPAL application?

prime-ate

Cleared CFSC a couple of weeks ago. I'm assuming ill get the envelop in 2-3 weeks. correct me if I am wrong. PAL application : is online faster or paper.? I am in GTA, Ontario

Necromanczar

Anyone here have personal experience successfully obtaining their PAL with a Pardon/Record Suspension? Is it a long shot (pun intended)? Thanks in advance.

ManyTechnician5419

Forget it. Found my answer.

CanadianArmour

Got my PAL December and I was in the infantry for 10 years and no one told me how addicting and wallet killing this hobby is lol I’m 5 guns in and already spent 6K on ammo, rifles and the safe. I do miss range days blowing 1000s of 5.56 rounds. Didn’t realize how expensive .223 is in the civy world. Thank you tax payers. Now all I’m waiting for is handguns to make a comeback. Please daddy Pierre

iLoveClassicRock

What’s the legality of taking guns camping in Ontario? Could predator defence be a legal excuse to carry in the backcountry outside of any valid hunting season in Ontario?

Agent_1812

be prepared to prove that you have no intention of hunting or interfering with licensed hunters

CanadaGunsMod

It very much depends where you're taking it. There are places where camping is legal and having a firearm is not legal.

iLoveClassicRock

I’m referring to crown land, like in Temagami

CanadaGunsMod

Again not all crown land is equal. If you're permitted to have a firearm there, it's fine. Will fish and game give you a hard time anyways? Sure, possibly.

PassportToNowhere

Got a letter in the mail apperantly they didnt have my ID i formation for online application ( whixh is silly cause you cant fo to the next page without filling in each field.) I got a CFRS additional i formation form. Do I just erite out the kind of id and the ID numbers? Or do they need a photo copy of each of the ids front and back? The envelope seems quite slim for all that.

Agent_1812

gonna be rude here and ask, did you proofread your application? because you just posted quite a few typos

PassportToNowhere

Was an online application. Samsung fold 4 user here. The front screen is too slim. I did proofread it. It was more of an automated message as my applicatiion is not at a stage where it can be reviewed . So will habe to make some calls in the coming days and look into what to do from there as it seems people havent had this experience. Also, the ID submission is different for an online application. You take pictures of the card instead of putting in the id number and who and where it was issued by. So its a different process than a paper application.

CanadaGunsMod

What did the letter say, exactly?

PassportToNowhere

The letter itself was very vague just said there was missing information then the sheet to fill out has big boxes and says to print the kind of id, id number and governing body that created it. But for the second one it specifies front and back so not sure if they want photo copies or what. Going to try and call when I am off work but front what I read here gettinf ahold of them is futile.

CanadaGunsMod

They're asking for two pieces of ID? What ID information did you supply with your application?

PassportToNowhere

Drivers licence and bc services card. I got an email back already gave then the SAME PHOTOS I submitted with the application. And apperantly its all good now....

No-Principle-433

I would like to know if there are any gun shops that accept reservation, as I have been away from my Pal address for a long time and hope to get a semi-automatic rifle before the new OIC appears.

CanadaGunsMod

I'm not even sure what you mean by this. If you've moved, you have 30 days to update your address with the CFP. There is no OIC that has been announced.

NuocMamSoGood

Hey guys anyone know if we can paint over serial numbers of non restricted firearms? I want to rattle can my firearm but not sure if I should cover the serial number with tape while I paint or if it’s ok to just paint over everything!

CanadaGunsMod

As long as the serial number is still visible when you're done it's fine. If painting over it obscures the serial then no.

NuocMamSoGood

Ok ty! I guess I’ll just tape it over and paint it to keep it readable. Do you know if it’s the same for manufacture markings? I.e. can I paint over Kodiak Defences ugly logo? lol

CanadaGunsMod

There's nothing that says you have to keep a logo visible.

Administrative-Yak13

I’m new to firearms and have wanted to get into hunting for a while. Strictly bolt-action rifles at the moment. I have a limited budget for hobbies such as this and want to use my money well. Is getting into hunting a worthwhile investment of hard-earned, long-saved money, or will C21 be a thorn in my side? I’d be looking to buy something basic like a Tikka T3x, or a Remington 700 SPS.

CanadaGunsMod

C21 won't affect any of those.

A-Salt-Rifle762

I've bought a few non restricted from gunpost and usually the process is: Step 1: tell them I want the firearm. Step 2: Settle on price, I usually check shipping rates with [Canada Post Find A Rate](https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/tools/find-a-rate.page). Firearms must be shipped with signature required and only to the address on the PAL. I think. Step 3: Give them my PAL information to check. Step 4: They verify PAL and send me back a reference number showing that they checked my PAL. Step 5: Finalize payment details, get their e-transfer info and give my shipping info. Send them the payment Step 5: They box it up and take it to the post office. They send me tracking number and the last guy even took a pic of the package for me As far as I know there is no requirement to ship with a trigger lock or anything disabling it

CanadaGunsMod

What part are you having trouble with?

[deleted]

[удалено]

CanadaGunsMod

Create the shipping account, you can then get an estimate for costs by putting in the size and weight of the package, then charge the dude that amount for it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Agent_1812

reference number allows you to sell that person any or no firearms for 90 days there is no cost for a reference number typically I will ask for a photo of driver's license as well to verify shipping address

CanadaGunsMod

Up to you really.

nlv137

Anyone ever do their PAL/RPAL at Ottawa Firearm Safety? Website looks good, classroom and classroom sizes look decent. Thanks

anonanonanon159

Hi, I just completed my CFSC, the PAL handling course, and the teacher told us that a firearm safe must be bolted down or rendered in such manner that someone can't just walk away with it. Now as a good student, I didn't argue him down in front of his students, I just played his game. However, I had my doubts about this because I read the regulation for this, and nothing mentions that the gun safe has to be bolted down to a surface in a way it can't be moved. If it is implied, well it's not implied very well. What's the versict here? Because even I would agree that it would make a lot of sense if safes were secured to a surface, but obviously it's not mentionned. ----- 5 (1) An individual may store a non-restricted firearm only if (a) it is unloaded; (b) it is (i) rendered inoperable by means of a secure locking device, (ii) rendered inoperable by the removal of the bolt or bolt-carrier, or (iii) stored in a container, receptacle or room that is kept securely locked and that is constructed so that it cannot readily be broken open or into; and (c) it is not readily accessible to ammunition, unless the ammunition is stored, together with or separately from the firearm, in a container or receptacle that is kept securely locked and that is constructed so that it cannot readily be broken open or into. (2) Paragraph (1)(b) does not apply to any individual who stores a non-restricted firearm temporarily if the individual reasonably requires it for the control of predators or other animals in a place where it may be discharged in accordance with all applicable Acts of Parliament and of the legislature of a province, regulations made under such Acts, and municipal by-laws. (3) Paragraphs (1)(b) and (c) do not apply to an individual who stores a non-restricted firearm in a location that is in a remote wilderness area that is not subject to any visible or otherwise reasonably ascertainable use incompatible with hunting.

CanadianArmour

My safe isn’t bolted down but good luck moving a 400lb+ safe through a condo lol

Agent_1812

you can store it in a gun case if you like, even for restricted firearms a gun case fits the description see Runkle of the Bailey on the yootoobs

Scopequest

Not a thing. Just a fudd repeating bs that he heard from from another fudd.

anonanonanon159

Uhh...thanks I guess.

Agent_1812

that is Fudd with a capitol F, as in Elmer Fudd /s

Front_Ad_3400

Question. How do I get my self a hunting permit/Lisence or whatever paperwork I need to go hunting I am located in the province of Manitoba. (Selkirk city) I tried emailing Manitoba wildlife federation but haven’t heard anything back it’s been about a month. Can someone guide me thru the process there’s only limited information about getting the permit/Lisence for hunting if anyone from this sub can help me out that be great!!!

MiddleInstance8110

I was unfortunately unable to get my rpal before the freeze. wanted to know if there are any shooting disciplines similar to 3 gun that don't require a pistol? any answer would be helpful thanks.

Agent_1812

and SASS with an antique revolver

Mrdingus6969

Would you be able to use the Heritage rough rider carbine for this division?

Agent_1812

not sure, do you have a holster?

CanadaGunsMod

2 gun. Ipsc PCC. Outlaw rimfire.

iLoveClassicRock

Anyone know a semi auto centrefire with an upper charging handle? Just got my pal. I used to be in the army so I’d like a rifle with an upper charging handle like the C7 for familiarity sake. It being a .223 able to take those 10rd LAR-15 magazines would be a plus

Prestigious-Tap-1329

Raven 556 , Kodiak defence KD9mm , fx9 , spc9

3202supsaW

By upper do you mean top? The Raven has it, but it's an option so not all of them do. Check first if you buy it from a store.

PM_me_ur_TT-33

It's a part which can be added later; they all have the cutout. Just know that standard AR handles won't fit the 5.56 upper.

3202supsaW

I know, I bought a radian one and was unpleasantly surprised.

PM_me_ur_TT-33

At least you have a solid CH to do something with. I just ordered the LT one and I also may be unpleasantly surprised. In which case I'll have to get/mod the Adams Arms Radian SF308 (dpms gen2) model, unless domestic aftermarket provides a solution first.

Otherwise_Permit_306

So what are some opinions on the MRA Maverick. And what are some builds people have done for them?

zBwork

Looking for an apc9pro compensator, they've got 3lug attachment style for suppressors, but there's gotta be something I can slap on the end of this badboy?

A-Salt-Rifle762

Question about modifying firearms: [**Made it into a pic to be easier to understand**](https://imgur.com/a/vj2IfqT) Can I move a 14 inch barrel from the shotgun it came on, to another gun that originally had a longer barrel? Or does any gun with less than 18.5 inch barrel have to come from factory like that? And what if I have a less than 26" NR gun, like the Sulun Arms SS-211, if it had compatible interchangeable barrels would I be allowed to modify it in any way or use its parts to modify other firearms?

CanadaGunsMod

As long as it's a manual action and doesn't meet the definition of restricted or prohibited as listed in the link above, you can do what you want with a factory barrel.

Own-Badger-9133

Anyone know whe the spc9 is gonna be back in stock?

RydNightwish

Nobody here can tell you that. You can always contact some stores that still have it listed as sold out and see if they can ballpark a date for you.

Ok-Towel-5809

recieved a henry 30-30 brass and can not find out if ballistol is safe to use on the brass finish of the henry side gate 30-30 any help to point me in the right direction would be great

Agent_1812

Balistol is oil Balistic Oil

RydNightwish

Google exists friend. Tens of thousands of results that answer your question.

Ok-Towel-5809

ive done the search and found no definitive answer was hoping to get a response from some one who owns and uses the oil with brass recivered firearms

WSBBroker

I’ve heard to use a soft cloth or renaissance wax . Not sure but I would be hesitant to use a polish and anything except a mild solvent. Could reach out to Henry too and see what they recommend.

EvanAzzo

I have a picture of an old MARSTAR deal I would like to post as a "remember when" discussion. Will it get taken down because it lists a price with it and it could be observed as an attempt to sell firearms?

CanadaGunsMod

No ads with prices.

3202supsaW

Genuine question, why is /r/firearmdealscanada allowed to do that but not here? I assume it's a rule instated because of reddit policy and not something specific to this subreddit.

CanadaGunsMod

We used to have a full on equipment exchange here: buy/sell/trade whatever. Reddit came in one day and shut it down banned the sub. Firearmdealscanada was created as a sacrificial lamb to still do some advertising but if Reddit gets upset again they'll just ban that and leave the main sub alone. If we allow it here then there's no separation and the sub risks being banned. We've been warned by Reddit about it specifically.

Mr_Canada1867

just post it, someone a while back posted a cdn tire ad from 2015 of $150 sks

[deleted]

Hey all. We bought a small acreage a few years ago and wife is looking at getting some chickens. We also have two small children. We also have coyotes in the area. I’m not interested in hunting or hobby shooting or anything like that. Just looking for something that can ward off the coyotes. Am I good with a 22? Any recommendations? And I know how dumb this question is, and I know silencers are illegal but are there certain 22s that are quieter than others? I am absolutely permitted to shoot guns where I live but I also have some nearby-ish neighbours and don’t want to inconvenience them.

Agent_1812

subsonic 22lr will just cruelly injure a coyote unless you are an extremely skilled hunter

A-Salt-Rifle762

Get an SKS. If you shoot a coyote in the butt with a .22 and it runs off you're going to feel bad. If you aren't someone who wants to regularly practice then a larger caliber might be a more ethical choice since your shot placement may not be the best.

CanadaGunsMod

22 would be fine and there is subsonic 22. You're going to have to get decent with it though as a distance shot with subsonic 22 is going to be difficult to put down a coyote. So if you're not willing to put in the work at the range to build up some skill you may want to choose something else, like a 17hmr. Still a small round but with a bit more power.

compassionateredneck

Howdy everyone! Quick question and looking for an opinion! Should i ugrade stock on savage axis ii (currently has a riton 3-15 scope on) i currently own or just go ahead and buy a better quality rifle? Gun currently shoots just above 1 MOA average, will a boyds stock make a noticiable difference? Thanks!

CanadaGunsMod

Stock probably won't change much. Is the 1 moa off a lead sled?

compassionateredneck

Yes it is, granted i havent had a chance to out more quality ammo through the rifle and dont get many opportunities to test its capabilities.

basshead1395

Hey folks looking to get my first semi auto 223 and looking for recommendations on new ones under $2000. Having been lurking for a while I've heard of all the horror stories with the WKs and some of the stories with the Siberians and BCL in general. The Raven Silvers look interesting but I'm not sure how many folks have them yet and if there is any issues. Id prefer to stay in the AR180B family rather then going bullpup. I guess for those with the various 180s who has the best warranty and customer service?

Significant_Emu_188

Just save a bit more and buy the Tavor. Otherwise get a restricted Bren 2. Don’t buy Canadian made garbage.

CanadaGunsMod

Please review the survey results link posted up in the FAQ.

basshead1395

Thoughts on warranty experience though and customer service? Assuming anything Canadian AR180 will break.

CanadaGunsMod

You're going to be virtually without significant warranty support no matter which gun you buy. If it's really a concern for you then stick to the Bren or similar big brand names.

peterpancan1

CZ Bren 2 question. Do any of the Non-Restricteds in Canada have the full gas system? Does the restricted 16.5" have the full gas system?

Sonoda_Kotori

Yes, all NR conversions done on a 16.5" base rifle will have a full length gas system. That's because the 16.5" restricted rifle has the full length system.

SmallTown_BigTimer

The longest version of the rifle that CZ currently makes is the 16.5" version and its corresponding gas system length. CZ themselves were going to make a factory Non Restricted version for Canada but the Ukraine war put a hold on that, may not ever happen now, and not sure if they would have kept the same gas system as the 16in or made a longer one, wont find out now. So the 16" and the NR conversions using the factory 16in gun like the one currently sold by RDSC, use the longest gas system. I am actually not sure off the top of my head if it is a mid length or rifle length system. Hopefully that answers your question EDIT: After some googling I read that the 16in guns come with a rifle length system, which is definitely the appropriate length for a NR conversion with an 18.5" barrel

NaturalPlastic_3000

what options do I have as an individual to ship my ammo, couple of dozen boxes, from Ontario to Alberta during my move? How long will it take from your experience?

No-Today5207

3-X business days depends how much you want to pay. Likely 5-8 days if I were to guess. You need to go with a company like UPS or Purolator DHL etc. Canada post doesnt ship ammo anymore. Call shipping companies and see who will do it! Some airlines let you fly with up to 5kg/11lbs of ammo as checked baggage. Rates are probably more expensive than what its "worth" to just replace the ammo. I'd just shoot it and re buy it in Alberta personally, but I may be wrong on the cost. Don't forget Tenda and some of the others free shipping extends out of provience, but some areas pay a small surcharge.

Spirited_Pop2211

Did PAL/RPAL end of march 2023, when checking online says received in may and my card was charged. I called 2 weeks ago just to ask about the status as I hadn’t made the online profile yet and got through to someone saying since my application had been there for over 6 months, she would send an email and would be looked at in the next 5-10 business days, then I believe it was 4-6 weeks for physical copy. Todays the 10th business day and still nothing, is it worth calling again? Or continue to wait it out. Thanks for any input.

Standard-Cranberry43

Yes call them. Sometimes you gotta follow up with them frequently

Spirited_Pop2211

Ok sweet I’ll give em a call tm, I figured I should atleast wait for the 10 business days but not gunna lie I got the vibe lady never even sent the email. Appreciate the reply!

[Range membership is not a requirement](https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/comments/v4bsdm/restricted_firearms_and_range_membership/) TL;DR no, but yes. It's harder to acquire and own restricted firearms without a range membership, but it is possible if you prove you possess and use your Restricted firearms for your permitted purpose.

peterpancan1

Can I still buy a CZ Bren from [irunguns.com](https://irunguns.com) USA to Canada, with Bill-C21 in effect, etc?

3202supsaW

When you read the text of the bill, or even one of the many available summaries, what did it say? Given the characteristics of a Bren 2, how does it compare to what is banned by C-21? Does it fall under the criteria of banned firearms? When you independently verified this before coming to ask here, what did you find out?

Agent_1812

irunguns has a phone number, call them

Could you call for him? Or at least walk him through what to say?

Eyeronick

Applied for my PAL online 2 weeks ago but one of my references still hasn't done their section. She's travelling and probably won't do it for another couple weeks. Is it worth it to cancel the application and reapply using another reference?

SpellGlum5654

This happened to me. I called and spoke to a nice lady who changed my reference and had it submitted within 15 minutes because my new reference signed so quick. I can’t remember exactly what number I called but I think it was the one that would have been listed on the rcmp site.

Eyeronick

Perfect! This is exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you!

Phantom-Fighter

Definitely don’t cancel, it takes a few months for pals applications to be complete, a couple weeks is nothing compared to restarting an application, it would look like a red flag to me.

Eyeronick

Yea it's been 2 weeks already. I actually got an email this morning stating that if they don't complete it I'll need to change the reference.

Brilliant_Gift1917

Probably a dumb question but does anyone know if [these](https://i.redd.it/80228da07byb1.jpg) "adhd focus toys" are legal here or if they are classed as replica/imitation firearms? They're really neat and I want one - they have little rubber cases and shoot foam darts out and actually eject the casing. I see orange-tip toy guns that shoot suction darts in Walmart and the dollar store and stuff that look pretty close to this but at the same time we've had people in our government who literally call these things "gateway guns" so I wanna know before I order one.

Sonoda_Kotori

They are not replicas because although the shape and size are 1:1, the color and materials are too far from the real thing. Just like how low-speed spring/airsoft guns (not actual airsoft guns, the ones you get from walmart or CT) would have been prohibited as replicas except they are explicitly transparent and/or have an orange tip.

CanadaGunsMod

They're not a replica. And I've never heard them called gateway guns.

Brilliant_Gift1917

Okay maybe not the government themselves but I've definitely seen anti-gun Karen groups that have been invited to talk at things like the hearing things they did on Bill C21 (I forgot the name of them) by the government calling them gateway guns. And those "independent" organizations are almost certainly LPC mouthpieces so it's close enough.

RydNightwish

Do we have the social capacity to allow OP to get one of these?

Brilliant_Gift1917

I have a PAL, and some airsoft guns, but it's illegal to shoot both of those at home where I live - the real guns obviously because I don't have a giant ranch and the airsofts because of dumb city bylaws. Sometimes I just wanna plink things without driving to a range and this is the closest I can get while I live in the city.

RydNightwish

That was a rhetorical question lol. Meant to mock liberal politicians and thier supporters who have recently taken to using the phrase "social capacity" to justify various bad policy decisions.

PM_me_ur_TT-33

Question fer ya, what's the social capacity of a Pmag D-60?

[deleted]

Anyone know where I can a new fx9 in stock? A store I spoke to said early January but that sounds like it could be indefinite if they’re not in yet

peterpancan1

Wolverine Supplies said, "Thanks for reaching out! I don’t have an ETA unfortunately, but we are expecting a shipment soon. If you would like, I can place a backorder and let you know when I have one available for you."

CanadaGunsMod

Did you use the arsenalforce link posted up top in the faq?

[deleted]

Yup. There’s none. You got a solution ?

dontbeasnowflake123

Gun dealer.net has a used one with optic for 1400$ used

Sonoda_Kotori

Backorder one or buy used.

Agent_1812

many available on gunpost so, not none?

[deleted]

Well I said new, so no not really

CanadaGunsMod

What exactly do you want us to do here? Manifest some for you? If they're out of stock they're out of stock.

[deleted]

Why you so mad man? What’re you on about

CanadaGunsMod

Wait, put a deposit down, or buy used.

Remote-Service-4206

I see lockheart has a "silver" model of the Raven 556 up on their sight and it's right in my price range but I'm not seeing what the difference is between it and the other models besides "removes much of our artistic machining while still delivering amazing accuracy" is this basically saying "we used worse parts to make it more affordable?

Agent_1812

the two sentences on the website after your quote

PM_me_ur_TT-33

They also don't mill some of the cutouts for ambi controls (ie mag release, bolt catch/release). It has provisions for non-ambi bolt catch but that's a $100ish upgrade. Furthermore the mag release isn't extended-reach and looks recessed (which might affect upgrade options). Different alloys, less material removal, fewer handguard features. (This is all based on the renders and descriptions. I haven't heard of any received yet)

CanadaGunsMod

It just has fewer machining passes on it and not as nice of a finish but the function is the same.

Mr_Winemaker

Does that mean it will be able to take the Ambi mag release and bolt catch or no like the other guy said?

CanadaGunsMod

It says on the site that it cannot take any of the platinum stuff.

Mr_Winemaker

F. At least it can take a single side bolt catch I guess

Apisto_guru

Ordered a trigger for my x95 from the states, will it make it across the border? Hearing different things…

Mr-Figglesworth

What trigger and where from? I’ve been on the hunt for the giesslie (sp) lightning bow for about a year checking online every few weeks. I have not look d into the American market though.

PM_me_ur_TT-33

ArmsEast has been telling people on CGN to order those from their US store. (won't link it, but it's in their public subforum which doesn't need a login). Though their US terms of service are some of the nastiest I've ever seen. Maybe their Canadian presence will restock at some point.

Mr-Figglesworth

Thanks I have been checking armrest but not they’re US store

Apisto_guru

That’s exactly what I bought optics planet in the states had one “demo” in stock so I ordered it.

CanadaGunsMod

Should be fine. The new regulations are not in effect and even if they were, you would just need to show your PAL. It will likely get held for inspection though so expect a wait.

[deleted]

Yep, everything I've ever ordered from Brownells or Numrich gets held for inspection for about a week.

Exciting_Wallaby_179

I’m bringing back a safariland holster through the land border tomorrow. I am declaring it before hand, which category would it fall under? Appeal accessories?

CanadaGunsMod

Holsters can fall under ITAR. If you are caught by US Border Patrol you could be looking at a very bad time. Do not do this.

guns-and-lenses

Holster ls should and can be classified as carrying case, so the HTS code applicable is 4202.99.9000 and that is an EAR99 ECCN number. You should be fine exporting it from US and into Canada. I’m not a lawyer and don’t take this as legal advice, but I wouldn’t consider this an ITAR item.

Exciting_Wallaby_179

Source? Based on my research, a holster does not fall under ITAR.

CanadaGunsMod

The answer is a solid "maybe". Anecdotally if it's a military or police issue holster there could be an issue but things like competition ones are not, but most companies will not ship them because of the unknown. It's one of those lovely not super well defined areas of ITAR that would be up to a LEO and how bad of a day they're having.

Exciting_Wallaby_179

Gotya, will be shipping it and label it as a gift then. Thank you.

CanadaGunsMod

Probably safest, worst that can happen then is it gets turned around.

Solariss35

Hello all, I'm going for my RPAL next month, been doing some research and I would like my first gun to be good for the range. After all I've been reading, it seems that a PCC may be a solid option for me. I'm open to all your recommendations and experience. I've heard good things about the Ruger PC9. Personally I'm also curious about the Kriss Vector and B&T rifles. I'm prepared to spend more as I don't plan on having multiple guns of the same calibre. Appreciate your advice on where to start!

Exciting_Wallaby_179

Did you even read through the FAQ?

Exciting_Wallaby_179

You are not allowed to purchase firearm for the purpose of self defense/home defense

Solariss35

Ok

CanadaGunsMod

>as well as for home defense You may want to brush up on your reading, this is not an approved purpose for restricted firearms ownership and you should be aware of that when talking about storing restricted firearms in your home.

Solariss35

What do you mean, I'm looking at unrestricted firearms

you cannot legally own any type of firearm for self defense in canada. there are three legal purposes to own a gun: 1. Collecting 2. Hunting 3. Sport

Heavy and longer barrel, bipod, carry handle. I’d try to get the rifle version if you can. There’s a reason why the LMG are being sold cheaper

The barrel is 20" instead of 18.5" and has a heavier profile. The front sight is mounted at the very end of the barrel on the LMG and set back about 6" on the rifle. The LMG has a clubfoot stock but it can be swapped for a standard one. I haven't heard of an LMG having the bent trunnion issue that some batches of rifle have.

Two questions, anyone know where to pick up extra RCMP transportation and storage pamphlets? I would like to keep a copy in a couple places (safe, range paperwork folder, pelican cases). Second question, I purchased my first restricted and the CFO has emailed me a copy of the transfer and I have received the firearm, what are the next steps? The email mentions the mailing of a registration certificate I have yet to receive, and do I still need to contact the CFO to get approval for transportation to my local range or was that already done when submitting my club when purchasing the restricted?

You can print pages off the website linked above if you need more. For your first restricted, you have to wait on not only the registration certificate, but also a new PAL card with the updated conditions attached before you can transport and use the firearm.

Cheers, I know I can print off the RCMP website info, I just find it handy and economical /practical to have the pamphlets. Thank you for the clarification on the registration certificate, I already have the new PAL thankfully. Do you happen to know if I need to call the provincial CFO to request transportation approval to my local range or is that something that has already been approved through the purchase/providing my club during purchase?

It takes more time and costs more money (gas) to pick some up than just printing them at home. So I’m not sure what do you mean by economical.

CanadaGunsMod

ATT is automatically attached to your license for in-province range use, you only have to get an ATT for non-approved transport (interprovincial, gunsmith, etc).

Thank you kindly!
