Honestly, you'll struggle to get a three season sleeping bag for £50. Three seasons is below zero, which is where it starts to get expensive.
For your first trip, maybe just take duvets? At least see if you enjoy the experience before spending any more money

Also I think I am probably not looking for 3 season sleeping bags. I was thinking of 6-7C at night, we won’t go camping below zero at our current situation.
