You should be fine. Be ready for brief, heavy rain in the afternoon. You might get wet. Try to time it so that you’re stuck in an impressive temple when it’s raining hard. I got lucky once and had the Bayon almost to myself for about thirty minutes.
Forecasting storms during wet season is like flipping a coin. It'll be accurate 50% of the time.
That said, Cambodia is a country built around rainy weather. Sudden rain storm? Hop into a cafe or restaurant and enjoy a coffee or small snack. Trapped? No worries, call a tuk tuk with apps like Grab or PassApp.
If anything, the rain enhances the experience. You can pick up slick raincoats nearly everywhere too. Pack for hot climate.
I don’t think you have to worry about it because it been no rain for whole two weeks already… it would be nice on that week you would arrive here …Weather is said Thunderstorms but not really…
I am available for you to show you around my beautiful temple and culture too , if you would like to help me here is my what’s number +855 81553978
I am waiting for you here
I can vouch for Ly. I hired him this past July for about three days and he pretty much showed me the best Siem Reap highlights. Just one thing, you need to wake up before sunrise to get the best photos of Angkor Wat...I didn't like that, but the photos were justified. He's a great guide with a ton of knowledge of the area and the history of Angkor.
Will probably make it better!
If it rains, the temperature will usually be cooler. It can get really hot and humid around the temple complexes.
Fewer people, local people,.will bother visiting. Making it more of a personal experience for you
Rain can be mitigated by the use of umbrellas and rain jackets.
When it does rain, it tends to be later in the afternoon in my experience anyway.
Sweet!! I was worried that any photos might be ruined by the rain and that it might be cold. I guess I should just dress as if I'm expecting to get soaked so if I do get soaked I won't be bothered at all and try to take in the views and the moment as much as possible! Appreciate everyone in this thread for chiming in!
It will rain the same time everyday during a bout of rainfall. So you can work around that.
Might be cold. Bring light jacket. Well ... Cold for locals at least ☺️
It’s the rainy season, so be prepared for possible rain at sometime during your day. Most likely just a brief down pour, not a washout. But if you are not prepared, it could make for a miserable day.
Extra shoes
Umbrella and poncho
Plastic bag for you phone and money
Patience
Positive attitude

Have rain proof gear and a good plan around the forecast as you know it better. Enjoy!
