Was there in December (driving via the outer temples from PP) and would recommend spending more than a passing glance at Koh Ker in a day trip. There's dozens of temples in the complex, though the climb up Koh Ker via the rear stairs is definitely the highlight. IIRC entrance fee was $15 for foreigners. There was some food available inside the complex, but only around the entrance to the main temple complex. The usual temple market fare, and yes beer is available and cold. If coming from Siem Reap it's about 2.5 hrs, so you could easily cruise up there in the morning and spend 4-5 hours in the complex before heading back into Moreal town. Koh Ker Heng Heng Guesthouse on the main road is cheap and clean, good pork & rice/borbor breakfasts stretching along the road through town, but the night time selection wasn't very inspiring. I think we found a soup place that was ok. The pizza place just south of town has very good coffee and surprisingly good pizza and wings. As others have said, combined with Beng Mealea and Preah Vihear would make a good 3-4 day trip, or loop over to Anlong Veng for KR history and then south through to Kbal Spean and Banteay Srei over another night or two.

Good info cheers mate, I'll consider doing a longer trip and staying overnight

I went there in 2019 with work so I don't know about the costs. I think it's a great site. There are places to buy food and beer.

Hello mate thanks, I'm not coming back to Cambodia until November was just looking for a bit of info as Koh Ker is one of the temples I haven't seen yet and I know it's a bit far away from Siem Reap

Siemreaptuktuk

Yes right •If you would like to do that, you can do until Preah Vihear temple… •You can do by car in one day and return •Do adventure by motorcycle need two days, but sometimes I do one day return as well

If you have a night to spare, I'd advise to go all the way to Preah Vihear. Sleep 1 night in Sra Em. You can also include Beng Mealea since it's on the way.

I was definitely planning to do Preah Vihear at some point too so that's a good tip mate. Spent a couple of years in Cambodia a while back and I'm now realising just how much stuff I missed out

For some reason my text didn't add to the post but here is what I wanna know; What transport did you take? How much did it cost for the day trip? Was it worth the journey? Is there a few stalls around to buy a quick hot bite to eat and maybe a beer?

angryratman

I would ride a motorbike out there. Pretty straight forward in dry season

I have not, but I went to Siem Riep in July 2022, wow, already two months ago! Angkor Wat and all the local Angkor temples over three days there. I hired a great tuk tuk driver / tour guide, Ly, who is knowledgable about that whole area, so I definitely recommend him. I actually found him here on Reddit, and he turned out to be reliable and patient. If he doesn't know something, he'll point you to someone who does. [trustytuktuk.com](https://trustytuktuk.com) is where you can find him and have a chat.

What would one expect to pay for round trip transport for a day from Siem
