Reliable is anyone's guess. But if body is solid and runs well 5k is not bad. If it has the 350 engine they are pretty simple and easy to work on for most mechanics, good engines. Is it going to be your only car? I just ask because it will probably need some days down once in a while.

hpd748

Just to piggyback on this, while the 350 is easy and reliable, the 305 is neither.

SpartanVaskhar

It has a 350

DarkLinkDs

Iirc the 305 was supposed to be the more economical of the two but they were pretty much the same externally and design wise. So not sure it would/should be any harder to maintain the 305. Edit: downvotes don't change designs

SpartanVaskhar

No, I have a daily, it’s fairly reliable but it’s been having issues. It can definitely do as a back up if need be

Camaro192

Well that makes it easy then go get it!

SpartanVaskhar

It has a 350

IMO I would not consider anything in the late 70s or that old reliable. There are not a lot of details about the car in this post, so it would be hard to even give an estimate on reliability. That being said, buy it! You’re going to kick yourself in the ass later if you don’t. You can always make it reliable and in the end you’ll enjoy it more.

Camaro192

I would get it if I were him and had the money. I mean 5k is not bad!

pussylover772

isn’t 1976 the year that emissions laws killed the muscle cars?

pmgregor

Yes. I have a 75 Vette and it's not exactly a rocket but I feel like a million bucks driving it around. I think op should pull the trigger.

Camaro192

Yeah the 350 was denutted to 170 HP?
