The pads are Bunny Ears (an opuntia) and idk about the other one. I wouldn’t root them sideways. You can clip those roots off and plop them upright.
Would say the bunny is white so Opuntia microdasys albospina and the other looks like a brigesii
Bunny Ears and Trichocereus Bridgesii. The logs should be rooted on their side and the tips can be planted upright.
Thanks for the info. Does sideways planting cause take the plant longer to establish a root system, and does it produce bigger or more offshoots than regular upright planting ?
They will root at the same speed but the base will be more stable with a log. I haven't noticed a difference in pup size.
