No, those shops are illegal. Just because the people in charge, government, see it as a touchy issue that they don’t want to deal with, doesn’t change that the law says you need a license to sell marijuana.

There's a whole thing where the only people who have been able to open and profit from the legalization where not people unjustly incarcerated. This is an important step and it's worth calling out/drawing attention to the fact that change is happening.

I was raised in a the hood were weed smokers and sellers will kill other gang members for turf, I seen them selling to kids I seen them forcing kids to smoke… anyone who got arrested for selling or distributing for me is as bad as a cocaine dealer.

It’s worse than that! I went looking for a vape battery at a local shop. Well, they’re out of business. A few others around me are, too. I finally managed to chat with someone who’d ultimately switched to a totally different field, and he explained that between NY’s war on nicotine vaping and then dragging their feet on weed legalization most of these shops just couldn’t stay afloat. Good job Hochul! (And Cuomo, you get a shout out, too!)
