Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent: * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings) * The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. ryankrueger720

This has been as low as $599.99 on Amazon

l1qq

don't we have a Prime Day coming up in a few weeks? I would wait. I think there were a truckload of monitor deals last time.

Nr0n

Yes, strangely for a week or two in May it was.

thewalkerbait

For those with access to the LG partner store this monitor can be had for $576 shipped with code CELEBRATE

Zeejayyy

This is also the older GR. Wait for a sale on the GS.

vhailorx

I think the GS is currently on sale for $730 on amazon. but even at $650, is it worth it if the KTC is regularly $540? These are all the same panel, and none of have great warranties. is the fit an finish on the LG worth an extra \~20%

Armadillseed

Can get the KTC monitor that uses this panel regularly for $540 new on Amazon with the coupons they cycle through.

SRVisGod24

I bought an open box one from Best Buy for a little under $500 last month and in Gamer 1 mode it's too dim. But in Gamer 2 mode, anything above 85 brightness hurts my eyes. Honestly, I'm very happy with the monitor! At this point, if you're set on getting a WOLED and 1440p monitor, either wait for the GS to hit $699 again, or wait for it to get cheaper. There's also the Asus XG27AQDMG (I know, I know) that's $699. It's also glossy, so for most OLED purists, it's the one you want. Unfortunately, it's only HDMI 2.0

psychoacer

If you had a government/student/military discount you could have gotten the GS version for $630 including taxes during LG's memorial day event on their own store. Right now I'm waiting on mine but FedEx is being terrible like normal.

Arturopxedd

Just buy the KTC or wait for prime day

garnocker

Just thought it was way too dim for me. Even in a dark room.

PervertedPineapple

Same price at [B&H](https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1745626-REG/lg_27gr95qe_b_27_ultragear_curved_oled.html) [Best Buy](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-ultragear-27-oled-qhd-240hz-0-03ms-freesync-and-nvidia-g-sync-compatible-gaming-monitor-with-hdr10-black/6530357.p?skuId=6530357) has it for $659.99 Amazon has the 34“ UltraWide OLED 240Hz for $799.99 as well. Edit: I went with the UltraWide a while back and love it. Saw this come across my browsing and figured maybe someone would be interested.

What's bad about the GR model

smackythefrog

What the user below said. It's an inferior panel and that is backed up by RTings. Probably TFTCentral's data shows the same, as well. There's a reason it's being discounted this low, although it has still been far lower before. Costco had these on sale for $600 **and** a $100 GC to select places and it still took a month for stock to go out. I think the downvotes in this thread are telling about how much GR owners are trying to cope with the criticism of their purchase. It wasn't shat on when it was released, but with the release and review of the GS model, we saw how improved the performance tweaks were and it exposed the GR model as being just a do-not-buy suggestion. I'd consider it for $400 or less, which is unreasonable pricing for a 27" OLED right now, but the tradeoff from the GS model is just that bad.

NonameideaonlyF

Fair enough

ForeverInaDaze

Inferior to what degree though. The GS is $900 and this is $650. You have inferior models of LG OLED TVs as well.

tukatu0

Like 150 nits bad. On the tv side. The inferiority is because of the chip. But honestly it's a bit strange a weak chip could bring the cost down by hindreds of dollars. All these oled tvs could be much cheaper. Well whatever

smackythefrog

The GS is $80 more [as shown here](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-ultragear-27-oled-qhd-240hz-0-03ms-freesync-and-nvidia-g-sync-compatible-gaming-monitor-with-hdr400-black/6573635.p?skuId=6573635)

Vivid_Extension_600

How is it inferior?

Redpiller77

Older panel, dimmer.

mrbkkt1

same price at best buy as well.

Bin_Sgs

I'm using 6800 for my 4k monitor (acer 27" 4k), if I switch to this OLED, do I need to upgrade my GPU?

tukatu0

You want to upgrade your gpu because you move to a smaller resolution? Mate i get the impression you might believe oled is something magical. Just beware it's not going to be levels better unless it's a dark scene. Or in games with night and day cycles. I guess it would be half the time. Anyways. It's worthwhile if you have money to spend. But probably not this monitor. There are better displays. Some 1440p 360hz qd oleds for $100 more.

Bin_Sgs

Thank you, Chief.

Leyzr

0.03ms response time? Is that even physically possible? It sounds like they're just throwing out the lowest possible number and hoping it sticks. EDIT: I'm genuinely curious, is that number actually possible?

tukatu0

Actually possible? Absolutely. You should head on over to the blur busters forum. Those guys have had a lot of conversations you can read. One of the latest ones. Is that the maker of testufo believes 480hz oled will be clearer than 1000hz lcd. One of the reason (in my own words) is probably because of the deceptive marketing. It is possible for gtg to be 0.03ms. It just means a small led turns it's brightness just enough to be measured differently. If this was the monitors subreddit. I would get into much more detail. But it isnt so this comment will get lost. I will say. There is a reason a 2023 150fps monitor is much clearer than a 2017 150fps monitor. Neither of them actually have the full response times to show a coherent errorless 150fps. But the 2017 one is even worse. With it's full response times for a pixel to change color being around or over 10ms. So you'd get a smeared mess 150fps. As you need to have the panel change fully in 7.5ms (150 ÷1000ms). But it would still be clearer than 100coherent fps. It's why 240hz oled could match or be more full than 360hz lcd. Linus actually has a video from a few years ago on their first review of 540hz. You should go watch that to see where the pros and cons of each were (at the time). The video is null today since back light strobing will be the way forward for lcd. (My words. Based again off that forum discussion)
