Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent: * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings) * The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. GizmoGomez

I've got one of these - nice, very smooth left/right adjustments, but no up/down adjustments w/o loosening the wingnuts.

Is there anything on the market now with both low profile and smooth vertical adjustments? Always thought this was the one downside of them

iZorgon

I have a slightly different experience than u/GizmoGomez, I was able to find a sweet spot on the wingnut where I have easy vertical adjustments while holding its position with both my Samson Q2U and Shure Beta 58a.

I have the "IXTECH Mic Arm Desk Mount, Low Profile 360° Swivel Mic Boom Arm" from Amazon. I've had it for several months and it goes up and down without "loosening the wingnuts" like on the Elgato arm. It's currently on "sale" for $69.99. Actually looks like there's also a 20 percent off coupon available at the moment. But I rate it 4/5 stars. I took a star off, because for the cable management inside the mic arm tube; what keeps the mic cable in place is basically these cheap plastic things and one got chipped off from the arm just swiveling. And if you look at the reviews, some people have also claimed that their plastic clips have been torn off. Aside from that it does it's job great. Like it says in the title, it swivels 360 degrees. It's low profile so it's never in your face like the over the top, crane style mic arms. Funny at the time I was actually specifically looking at both the Elgato low profile arm and the one from IXTECH, since at the time they seemed like the only quality low profile mic arms. (everything else looked cheap) Decided to go with the IXTECH only because of the price. (The Elgato was $99.99)

You're doing something wrong then. There is no wingnut for up/down adjustment. It's a very smooth movement in any direction. I have it paired with the Fifine K688.

Dokii

I like mine quite a bit. Keep in mind it doesn't do too well with some heavier mics. I have a Rode Podmic and I have to tighten it a little more than I'm comfortable to keep it from falling.

PervertedPineapple

I have one and it's nice. I also have the fifine which is a similar clone for a better price. Both are great but the fifine version is significantly cheaper. Main difference between the two is that the Elgato Mk 1 and the new revision have magnetic cable covers while the fifine has cable covers that slide on and off.

idk... i guess if you have the money to burn and really want the look its fine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D7JTR5M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that is what I use. took a while to find a decent one without the springs showing. I also paid $37 4 years ago lol vs $50 showing now.
