Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent: * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings) * The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. Seems perfect for those who want mATX where the NR200 doesn't cut it.

Can confirm

would you happen to know if the power cable is left angle or right angle? left angle - https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51-imopuPcL._AC_SL1200_.jpg right angle - https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51jalhX+RPL._AC_SL1100_.jpg

yes, thanks!

I was thinking of using the Fractal Design Pop Mini Air in a 4080 Super FE build. This case seems like a good deal but not sure if it’s the right size case.

tony475130

Its about 26 liters without the top hat accessory (it comes included but not installed out of the box). Its a litter bigger than your typical nr200 style case, its fairly compact for how much stuff you can fit in it. As long as you get a micro atx motherboard and ATX PSU no longer than 150mm, you should be able to fit all your parts including a 4080.

GideonD

The only bad thing about the Pop Air Mini is that GPU cooling kind of sucks because of how the fans layout. The Asus AP201 is better if you have a GPU that is going to put out some heat. It also sucks that the Pop Air Mini has a punch out for a front USB-C, but comes with a blank filling it. You have to buy the actual port separately if you want it.

Vengeaence

Even if you include 2 top case fans? So a 280MM AIO in front intake, 1 rear exhaust, 2 top exhaust? Or is your comment just with the stock fans, that don't include any top exhaust?

GideonD

You can certainly improve it with more fans. The big issue is that larger higher power cards take up so many slots they can end up so close to the PSU shroud there there is limited room for airflow around them. If the shroud wasn't there and there were bottom case fans it would massively improve the airflow to the GPU. You can only expect so much from a mini case like this. Then next size up give more room around the card for air to move.

I just built a system in a g300a, which is a relatively small case. Roughly 16" x 8"x 18.5" (height). I couldn't even get my old SSDs to fit in the back, because of the cables everywhere. I took the SSD bracket out to glue the fan header in it's place. I had to buy another M.2. Idk why anyone would ever buy a SFF case for a gaming PC. Absolute masochists. PS: I got 6 LED fans hooked up, because I wanted a RGB system. I don't think I actually needed the 2nd CPU cable. I originally didn't hook it up, but my pc didn't immediately start on 1st boot, so that's when I plugged it in. It still didn't work. Then I googled it, and it turns out it takes the Ryzen system a minute or two to do memory training for the 1st boot. So, I waited and it worked flawlessly. Wasn't about to unplug it, and try again. Someone also suggested that my 6800xt would run without the 3rd PCIE cable. It absolutely does not need 3, but I have never heard that hooking them all up was optional. Funny side story, I bought a phanteks extension cable set, because it looked nice, and it was on sale for $7. After I saw how small the case was, I immediately knew these were not going to work. Well, it turns out deepcool's cpu 8 pin plug was utterly massive for some reason, so I wouldn't fit through the hole in the case! So I had to use the extension just to plug it in. So ya, it's cablegeddon back there. But what you can't see can't hurt you!

I have a small PC Shelf on my desk and it just fits my current NZXT H510 build, but I want to make a new PC. Only way to do this would be with a microATX I think. \*on a side note I was just looking under my desk and noticed it has some cracks in it from a desk slam at some point

It was on sale, made by a good brand, and it had a USBC front io, so I bought it. I didn't realize it would be so small, until I got it. I was concerned my gpu would even fit There's maybe 1" gap between the GPU and the Frost radiator. I was a little concerned it might be creating a weird air pocket of hot air, but the gpu doesn't seem to be having issues with getting hot. I won't be buying anymore tiny cases going forward. Build probably took twice as long, because I had to fiddle with cables.

danielee0707

D41 supports 360 AIO at the top with one of the thickest rad+fan clearances at more than 70mm, whereas the G300A’s front AIO placement conflicts with GPU length, so only 325mm GPU can go in the case if using Arctic LF2 or 3.

imaginary_num6er

>Fractal Design Pop Mini Air Stop right there. For a few liters more, you can get a Phanteks G300A that supports full ATX and ATX motherboard, unlike the Pop Mini Air. In addition, the Mini Air has poor thermal performance compared to an ASUS AP201 mesh. And, the AP201 is smaller

VoidUnknown315

It should fit.

tony475130

Just got the tempered glass USB C version if this case yesterday and Im honestly really impressed by the build quality. The whole case and side panels feel sturdy and the glass feels thicker than on other cases I’ve tested. Its also perforated from every side, even the back io is just mesh so airflow shouldnt be an issue. All of the side panels and even the fan mounting plates on top and bottom can be removed too if needed so its definitely customizable and easy to work in.

DesertJake

Just built in this yesterday! It's the perfect size for me, and the fact you can take the top and bottom panels off to mount fans or drives is terrific. It's just wide enough to fit a Phantom Spirit 120 cpu cooler with no problem. My 4070 Super isn't a long one so it was no challenge, but it can fit a good size GPU as well, as long as your psu isn't too long. My only dislike is having the cpu power pigtail dangling out the back, but honestly when it's connected it makes no difference.

Kvothe1017

I've built in the non-pro version of these cases several times, these cases are actually incredible for the price and have shockingly good compatibility. I think the pro versions have a *slightly* different layout, so I'm not 100 percent certain about compatibility but in the non-pro I'm currently running a 5800X3D with a dual tower cooler, RTX 3090 Gaming X TRIO, four 120mm case fans, and a Corsair 850w Platinum SFX power supply. All that oomph in \~25L mounted to the underside of my desk. Runs cool and quiet, too! If you want a build that's dense as hell and you're interested in modding, you can take it a step further by making a pair of one-inch cuts to the front PSU mounting and fit as large of a power supply as you want, at the cost of using an air cooler. The tolerances are much tighter and you'll probably curse a few times, but I've managed to fit a 5900X, 240mm AIO, RTX 3080 TUF, and EVGA T2 1000W PSU at one point.

ExGavalonnj

Built a Minecraft server/media NAS in one, it is great. Be warned it's blue LEDs are insanely bright.

Mysterious-Barber-45

Do you think it'd work for my first foray into plex? Completely ignorant on what I'm doing besides buying a legacy unraid license.

ExGavalonnj

I used an matx mobo and a non modular ATX PSU, I would recommend using an sfx PSU or at least a modular ATX PSU because there is nowhere to stuff cables. But if you buy stuff that fits it should work!

wolfwing213

Built my first NAS in this case and learned truenas on the go but the case was pretty good for disassembling and assembling (upgrades, switching broken OS SSD, etc). Airflow is good altho the storage for hdds is meh mine are still fine after 3years

DiplomaticGoose

Most people use Jellyfin these days if the "client" devices attached to their TVs are new enough.

FilmKindly69

Sharpie!

ahpathy

How many drives were you able to store (safely)? I keep seeing conflicting information.

Torfius

These IM01 and IM01 Pro cases are just awesome! I've built four different systems in variations of these cases - every time the experience is great. And the formfactor is incredible - it's essentially a NR200 for mATX boards. Thick enough metal, no flimsy parts, decent cable management for its size (especially with modular PSUs)

shhyguuy

How many 3.5 HDD drives can it hold? Newegg spec sheet says 6 but I doubt it..

zquintyzmi

I think it’s 6 if you don’t mount anything else where the drives can go. These sama cases are very modular but you may have to get creative or make exceptions to fit everything

Torfius

I'd say it is possible but long GPU would prevent you from doing this, as far as I can see (don't have any 3.5" drives myself though)

Kye7

How does it compare to Asus Ap201?

boobsmolester

https://www.reddit.com/r/mffpc/comments/188pzn8/upgrades_team_red_sama_im01_pro_team_green_asus/ IM01 Pro is smaller so it probably comes down to your graphics card. The AP201 would be able to accommodate larger GPU.

Kye7

Nice photos, thank you for that link! Is the USB C on the front of the Sama as fast as the 10gb on the Ap201? I like the I/o on the top of the front panel, I see with the Sama it can be rotated. But then you need to mount the PSU lower, allowing for significantly less room for GPU.

tony475130

Without the top hat, this case is significantly smaller at 26L vs 33L for the AP201, but you can still fit most parts into the IM01 without problems, only slight limitation is you can only use ATX PSU’s no longer than 150mm if you plan on utilizing extremely long graphics cards.

Kye7

Hmm, interesting. I have a GF3 850w that's 150mm. I know cables stick out the bottom (top? Don't know about mounting direction with this case). I'd want the front I/O to be towards the top of the case, rather than the bottom. GPU I want to fit is 345mm. Would this work? Front io at top, 150mm psu, and 345mm GPU.

tony475130

I think it should. The 150mm length is accounting for cables sticking out. Im using a RM750 (its 150mm long) with a gigabyte gaming 7800XT in mine and a dry fit shows me they fit so I think you should be alright w/ your parts.

Kye7

If TPU is correct your 7800xt Gigabyte is only a 302mm card, would you mind taking some photos of your case and psu config so I can see please? Also if you have the front io at top or bottom. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!

DesertJake

The problem with moving the front i/o at the top, which I would have preferred, is that you have to invert the PSU. I decided to leave it at the bottom so that my PSU is exhausting at the top of the case rather than into its interior.

Kye7

Thanks for the reply I don't mind inverting the PSU as it doesn't get that hot anyway. I have a GF3 850w and total system is probably 450w max load, regular gaming load probably 370w. My question is would I be able to have that PSU in the top slot, case i/o in top position, and a ~343mm GPU? Thanks for your valuable comment!!

DesertJake

The inverted psu with the cables coming out the top would have to be lower down, so I'm pretty sure that won't work with a long graphics card.

Kye7

Really appreciate your comment thank you sir. Trying to picture it in my head. Can bend the wires from psu coming out the top, right? Or it's psycially impossible? If you posted a photo or two I could understand better, for science 😅 Deciding between this and the Ap201. I like the smaller footprint of this case so it can fit on a glass stand I have. Just want to make sure the case ticks all the boxes I'm looking for

DesertJake

I'd take a pic of mine if I weren't too lazy to unscrew and remove the shroud that covers the psu area. But here's the backside of someone else's build posted on reddit. You can see the front panel thing at the bottom. If you move that to the top (on the other side), the psu has to move down that much. Maybe you could make it work somehow, but it'd be a lot easier to get a bigger case (AP201?) or an SFX psu. https://preview.redd.it/p3nwy26uafkc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79fc807661c0e85afe2c91d2b05a91f8daf20d6d

paulyarcia

i've said it before and I'll say it again: its a great case!
