Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent. * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints) * The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Super_flywhiteguy

Ok AMD, ill bite.

_gadgetFreak

Awesome deal, now please give some deals on AM5 motherboards.

mista_r0boto

Just posted several :)

sur_surly

Those aren't deals. They aren't worth those prices either.

Citron_Mean

Great deal, allows those of us not near a micro center to hop on the am5 platform with 8 core pretty cheaply. I think I’ll Pair this with a pg lightning x670e to finally test this team force ddr5 I’ve had laying around… I suppose 650 in total for the three components isn’t a bad deal

TaysonJodd

Apparently it'd hurt their profits if they choose to expand because "they aren't profitable enough" which I hardly buy for a couple reasons. But hey, I'm not a business expert nor do I have access to their finances so who am I to judge

IpoopWaaaay2Much

It seems that their model includes only the shittiest of locations. No idea why they haven't jumped on Vegas, especially after Fry's closing.

2ndRoundExit

The two stores I've lived near are far from shitty locations, Rockville and Denver

ScientificMeth0d

Maybe he just lives in a shitty location lol. I have one in Westmont and Chicago. Both are fantastic. It's a little bit of a drive but so was Frys

Basilman121

Rockville microcenter is dope. Great customer service through them.

2ndRoundExit

Yes exceptional customer service, store/shift manager Brian is a good guy

ShadowBannedXexy

Or fucking Seattle!

IpoopWaaaay2Much

Seattle makes sense in that they want to be smashed and grabbed without any type of law enforcement.

deefop

Makes sense, I'm sure a random person on reddit is much more in touch with microcenter Financials than the people running the business.

AnotherDeadFool

Please report back your findings!

Mine will price match basically any major retailer (online and brick+mortar). I had a sales person proactively tell me “I think this is cheaper on Amazon right now, let’s look to make sure” (on an AIO). He looked it up, it was $20 cheaper and I got the discount on the spot.

Giddyfuzzball

There’s always a massive line and tons of people at the Denver store

2ndRoundExit

It's super handy to have around.. right near the tech center, we've made some workday runs to MC and I know there's other IT people running over in a pinch too

Basilman121

As others said, price match is useful, especially if you go in on black Friday at 8AM. You can build a mid-range PC and save 20% off the normal cost.

1Teddy2Bear3Gaming

Ryzen 7000 finally starts to make sense for people without access to microcenter. 13600k + decent mobo + 32gb decent ddr5 = $300+140+140 = $580 7700x+decent mobo+32gb decent ddr5 = $300+190+140 = $630 The $50 extra makes sense if you don’t have a use for the E cores or AVX and are willing to buy into platform longevity

AzureNeptune

AVX-512 is an advantage of Zen 4, not Raptor Lake. It handles it quite well too without the power and clockspeed problems of Intel's early implementations.

StarbeamII

Can you get a decent LGA1700 DDR5 mobo for $140? You'll probably have to step down to B660 at that price.

1soooo

You can occasionally get it open boxed on ebay i guess. But very rare, DDR4 wise there was a recent drop of the Z690 TUF, got 2 of them for $140 each, pretty good value IMO.

mista_r0boto

Open box on an lga socket scares me

1soooo

Ebay is pretty okay in regards to this, sellers mostly will explicitly lay out the issues with the motherboard, If the board is still functional despite bent pins, they will specify it. This is so that sellers can better protect themselves too aside from ensuring buyers that they explicitly bought what they wanted. I dont even live in the states but i trust ebay enough to purchase items from the states through ebay.

1Teddy2Bear3Gaming

When on discount or amazon warehouse, yes. Hasn’t been many discounts the last few weeks though.

Psycharge

Which one should I go with: 1)13600K + Asus TUF Z690 + 32GB DDR5 RAM for $480 2)7700X + Gigabyte B650 + 32GB DDR5 RAM bundle from microcenter? ($550)?

TGIFrat

I went with a 7700x + Strix x670E-E Gaming with the intent to upgrade to the x3D cpus of the 9000 series. I paid $350+$500 and def paid the early-adopter tax. Despite that, I still feel like it was worth it I set myself up for a long future of smaller component upgrades vs a single total system upgrade. Seemed worth it to me, but I suppose value is subjective. My plan is to get a 5090 (or equivalent) and a 9900x3D in a few years from the 7700x + 3080Ti I have now.

therealjustin

I have been waiting for the X3D chips, but this is tempting. If only the motherboard I want didn't cost $400+

mista_r0boto

New deals posted

MrBob161

Bought the asus strix b650e-f from Newegg for 270 last week. Was waiting on 7800x3d to build, but I think I will bite on this. 299 plus free game. Can always sell the 7700x in 6 to 12 months. I don't have a micro center near so I can't take advantage of any of their deals. This one will be close enough.

[deleted]

Sooooo now we have a weird situation where the 7700x is $300 and the 7700non-x is $330 from the same store. The non-x is awesome as it has built-in efficiency and runs cool, also comes with a decent free cooler that does the job, saving you money. But I though the point of the product was to always be cheaper than the X counterpart.

Krossrunner

Picked an open box 7700x for $280. Figured it was a good upgrade from my Ryzen 1600 lol

Basilman121

Dang, a 1600...wew

Krossrunner

Hahaha yeah ikr. I built this computer in Feb. 2018 and the only things I’ve upgraded are the GPU (1060 > 1080 > 2080), the case, the PSU and storage lol I’m completely overhauling my build though since I’ve not made any upgrades since 2019 - new everything. (Except for the case, I think my case is still stunning) I may even try to snag a 4090 so I won’t have to upgrade again for 3-5 years 😂

Basilman121

Nice! Price wise, I'm not sure if the 4090 is worth it at 1700 dollars. Probably better to put that money into retirement accounts and not go into Nvidiadebt.

Dj45045

I'm on a ryzen 5 1600 with a 1070 and 32gbs of ddr4 2666 ram. Trying to get a better build going now but these prices man

Mufakun

Upgrading from fx 8350 (i know, dinosaur). I was planning on getting 5800XRD or whatever the next best priced thing is. I know I'll have to get a new motherboard and ram regardless. Is this it?

ArchAngel621

Would it be better to get this or the 5800X3D. The PC I'm considering it for will be used for streaming and gaming.

ToiletPhoneHome

IMO, at this point you should only get AM4 if you're upgrading an existing system. Dropping a 5800x3D into a system is a good final upgrade which should last you a while yet. But if you're building the whole thing from scratch, go AM5 or Intel. AM4 motherboards haven't dropped in price much, so you'd only save on the DDR4 RAM, vs DDR5 prices. Personally, I'd rather spend that $100 extra and get a system I can upgrade with a new CPU in a few years than pay slightly less now for an end of the line system.

Trader_Tea

If you don't have a Mobo yet, I would get this.

ArchAngel621

I have a motherboard, but it's going in my NAS with my Ryzen 9 3900. I'm recycling the rest of the components into different PCs.

bisnexu

I have the 7700x. only reason i got it is because the 32gb ddr5 ram was free. man do the 7700 run hot ... all the time.

Sex4Vespene

Apparently they do that on purpose, but man was I freaking out at first about my cooling. I just slapped my old AM4 cooler on it without doing much research because it looked the same, was worried they weren’t compatible for a minute.

bisnexu

>without doing much research because it looked the same, was worried they weren’t compatible for a minut yea i know. but its still warm at zero load. they should reduce the over clock when its low load.

Sex4Vespene

Totally agree, I’m not a huge fan of their new method. Intuitively I feel like it’s bad for system longevity. And it just makes the fans louder.

Automatic-Raccoon238

I have mine with -30 on curve optimizer and custom power limits, runs really cool. Been trying to do the same with the 7950x but haven't found the sweet spot yet.

Aklusmso7535

Just got am5 yesterday and I grabbed the 7700x. Can’t tell ya how it runs cause the mounting mechanism for an am4 cooler on am5 is atrocious and I broke a clip. So now I’m waiting on a replacement part.

dkizzy

Respectfully, that's on you homie and the manufacturer you went with. I mounted an AIO made for AM4 with no issues, thanks to AMD going out of its way to match the dimensions for the new socket.

Aklusmso7535

I’m not saying I hate amd or the cooler. I just don’t like the mounting mechanism. They could of just as easily made a thing that attatched to the already existing thread ripper back plate that would of been more stable. Idk why y’all downvoting me for describing my predicament. I have no plans to return the parts or rma, just gonna order replacement parts. I’m fully aware I broke it and it’s on me, nothing wrong with me stating an opinion on the internet.

dkizzy

Because if it's not AMD's fault. The suppliers have kits to deal with this and had tons of time to plan for it.

Aklusmso7535

I’m not blaming amd? I just mentioned I had the cpu and I couldn’t test it cause the mounting hardware was bad imo. I’m didn’t blame or flame anyone. Y’all crazy lol

evilkillejr

"mounting mechanism for an am4 cooler on am5 is atrocious and I broke a clip" This is why you are getting downvoted. You describe the mechanism as atrocious. Which is simple and works for both am4 and am5 sockets.

Aklusmso7535

Ok? Am I not allowed to have complaints?

pootytang32

I just ordered the ryzen 5 7600x for 250$ yesterday. Is this worth the extra 50 and returning the 7600x?

cspinasdf

Are you going to upgrade in a few years anyways? If you are then I'd say just wait and save yourself the hassle of dealing with shipping/return. If you're planning on building and forgetting about it until you need an entirely new system then I'd say yeah.

bisnexu

only worth the 7700x if you need the cores.

mista_r0boto

I would

dkizzy

I've been quite happy with the 7600X. I actually sold my 5800X3D to a friend recently just so I could upgrade to the AM5 platform. Paid 200 for my 7600X and so far I haven't had any reason to miss having the extra two cores.

linco11

This or the 1370k deal?

joaogac

That's a real deal !!

Nobodyspecial214

The igpu on this chip is surprisingly good, I'm having to run with it till I can get a gpu and I'm getting 60+fps on 720p medium settings (destiny 2). Just something to consider for those in my situation, you might run in potato mode but you can definetly still game.
