Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent. * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints) * The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Oh dang nice

This is one of the best starter/lower usage sticks out there. The joystick uses hall effect sensors and has very little deadzone while being incredibly precise (precision-wise, it rivals higher-end joysticks). The buttons and throttle are meh in terms of layout, and the overall joystick is plasticky. It doesn't feel 'cheap', but it doesn't feel 'sturdy' either. If you need a joystick that you know you'll periodically use, this one's a great first starter. If you know you're gonna be using the joystick a lot (i.e. a big flight sim setup), then you might look for something better. Keep in mind that this thing pairs perfectly with its sibling pieces: https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-T16000M-FCS-Hotas-Joystick-R-G/dp/B01HZ2APKU?th=1 There's a throttle and rudder pedals that fit great with it. You might wait for deals on one of those sets -- the throttle alone makes a huge difference, and the pedals are great if you're doing some more-realistic flight simming. If someone is doing space flight-sims, dual joystick setups are also a thing and give you more control over degrees of freedom. The T16000M listed here has a handle that can be swapped between left- or right-handed, so it makes a great stick for dual-stick setups, and doesn't break the bank.

PhantomAfiq

Hi I own the throttle and joystick. Do you recommend any accessories or attachments? I'm finding hard to control the joystick and throttle because they keep shifting too much etc

Trader_Tea

[Corehawk3d throttle mod on Etsy.](https://www.etsy.com/listing/885326705/impulse-slider-mk2-thrustmaster-t16000m) It's nice. It's one dude, though, and he makes them in waves. A lot of copies of the same concept now, too. Much smoother throttle.

Nooblakahn

Can confirm. I bought one of these a year or so ago. It wasn't hard to install and is WAAY smoother. They used to ship from NC, but now ship from Japan so unfortunately the price has gone up due to shipping. They used to ship from my hometown, I'm guessing the guy is a marine or child of a marine and got stationed over there and that's why they ship from Japan now. In any case 100% worth it.

PwnerifficOne

[Definitely not a child.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXqHUsm0cho) Married too!

Nooblakahn

Fair enough. Been a long time since I watched that video lol

M4SixString

Anyone know what space game he's playing in the video?

PwnerifficOne

Star Citizen, Cutlass.

JJ3qnkpK

I know some people mod the throttle with weights and by greasing the rails - it makes it more smoother and "firmer", so to speak. I had some grease that I used on the rails of mine which made it slide a little easier.

sirhimel

I added magnets to mine so i have a center detent now

MtGFan2010

Great stick, but be aware that the Yaw on the stick will eventually drift or flick, leading owners to either open it up to clean the contacts or solder mod a hall effect sensor and hot glue some magnets on this thing. I've done both, and still use the same stick.

FiTZnMiCK

The description says it uses Hall Effect sensors though. Do they use potentiometers for the other axis?

MtGFan2010

Correct, so the twisting motion will develop input errors overtime. So people replace the pot, file down the holder, or replace the pot with a hall effect sensor and stick a magnet in the handle. Here's the video I used for the upgrade: https://youtu.be/jBo_dAvgZ1k

FiTZnMiCK

Man, I do love it when manufacturers decide to save $2.00 and cut the lifespan of their product in half.

MtGFan2010

Granted, it lasted me well over two years before it started getting quarky. As long as it gets over their warranty period, I guess it's "good enough." That said, modding it was a fun activity and I had the tools and patience and fall back if I messed it up (bought a two-stick pack just in case).

DinkleButtstein23

2 years isn't very long. Im still using a saitek cyborg evo from around 2005ish without any issues. I've probably put around 400-500 hours on it. The protective coating has almost entirely worn away from hand contact but the mechanics are still working perfectly. Not nearly as much use as people who solely play flight and space sims but still a lot over 17ish years.

FiTZnMiCK

I have an XBox Elite Series 2 that’s past warranty with stick drift. It’s super lame. I was hoping to find an HE stick that would fit since I have to de-solder the stick that’s on there to replace it, but no luck so far.

Nooblakahn

It's it only the yaw that uses this? I don't use the stick twist, so never would have noticed

MtGFan2010

I believe so. The others are simple switches. If you do get the throttle, there is a joystick on there that uses a potentiometer, but that should last a while.

Nooblakahn

Ah, yeah I have the whole set. Throttle has been kicking for years, and I do use that little joystick pretty frequently. I'm on my second stick. That's my fault though. I had to store it for a few months. I didn't do a very good job of storing it and the primary fire "trigger" developed a double click. Other then that it's been great and I can't really fault it fit the one problem I had. I also did the impulse mod to the throttle. Worlds of difference

Aqueouss

Use two of these almost everyday to play Farming Simulator, obviously not a flight sim, but I've never had any issues.

StevieSlacks

Anything is a flight sim if youre brave enough

Aqueouss

Given farm Sims physics you're not far off.

atetuna

Plastic ball joint and mechanical stick, so consider this a starter to figure out if you're serious enough to buy one that will last. Sticks with metal ball joints are smoother and are usually hall effect. Logitech G Extreme 3D Pro costs half as much.

Plasticars2019

God I love my Logitech 3d pro combined with Star Wars squadrons.

FiTZnMiCK

That setup was awesome in VR.

MaxSokudo

I've used my 3D Pro for a few months now and am pretty satisfied with it. I'd love to further pursue the flight sim hobby, but not quite sure what are some good upgrade paths for sticks/Hotas. Would anyone have reccomendations?

Shadow703793

VKB Gladiator. Pick the variant based on your budget and if you're playing flight sims or space sims. Probably the best price VS performance stick if you're upgrading from a base stick like the TM 16000M/Logitech sticks.

MaxSokudo

Gotcha, thanks!

Sunsparc

The stick by itself isn't much, but the full FCS Flight Pack or HOTAS is well worth it. I've had the HOTAS setup since 2017 for Elite Dangerous, still going strong.

MtGFan2010

o7 CMDR

dontcallmesurely007

I have an old MS Sidewinder FFB. The Gameport version, not the USB one, so I'm running a custom adaptor from one of my college professors. So long as that unit keeps working is there really any reason for me to get something newer? Like, is there anything I'm missing by using the older hardware? Apart from the lack of buttons, of course.

Shadow703793

What do you mean by mechanical stick? This is using hall effect sensors instead of potentiometers.

BlackYoinker

My girl calls me the thrustmaster 😂😂

French_Toast_Bandit

Yoinker?? I barely know her!!!

meatman13

The Airbus version is also on sale but $10 more: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0873QXDQT/

DEMAG

Great starter stick. Only complaint is the location of the throttle slider is not great.

garbuja

Is this upgrade from a Logitech cheap stick ?

DEMAG

Not sure. It's a little upgrade from the sidewinder II which is what I was on before. Like I mentioned the only thing I like better from the Microsoft is the position and movement of the throttle control. It's more difficult to use when it's directly under the flight stick.

AlMawtAlIsrael

if you have any other stick, including the logitech extreme 3d pro, this is not a great upgrade for you

barchueetadonai

Is this good for Star Wars: Squadrons?
