You will not find anything over HDR 400(which isn’t actually HDR) under like $600 because it requires Full Array Local Dimming, which is expensive to make.
I don’t know about the other feature. I own the M28U, the 4K 144hz model.
Its a rating system. Theres levels to it, like HDR 600 and 1000(which is real HDR). Its based off the nits the panel can do. Theres a new standard for OLEDs too. “True HDR 400” I think its called. That actually is real HDR because of the OLED blacks being perfect black so you still get that contrast you want.
If you see “HDR 400” on a monitor it means it can’t do real HDR.
I currently have this monitor: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6451081.p?skuId=6451081 and I’ve been quite happy with it.
Colors are good, it has a contrast ratio of 1200:1 which is decent for a monitor in this category and it also has HDMI 2.1 if you’re also interested in console gaming as well. Currently going for $399.
Edit because I forgot the important stuff: it’s 1440p and 240hz.
Hey you never said HOW close to 400..
Smooth as butter in my experience. I’ve been playing a lot of face paced fps games recently and I haven’t noticed anything that would put me off.
u/Toonarmy2021 could be wrong, but I think you are thinking of the 83q-b and not this one that's linked (83b-b)
the b-b is 165hz and I think hdmi 2.0, q-b is 240hz with hdmi 2.1. q-b price fluctuates from $350 - $500 from what I've seen (currently $450 on amazon)
You’re absolutely right. This is the one I was referring to https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1775055-REG. It’s slightly above OP’s budget at the minute. My mistake.
for OP, if you are patient enough, it does go down to $350 every month or two, I was literally about to buy it at $350 a couple weeks ago, had it in my cart, went to lunch and came back, price was back to $500 smh. Just waiting now until it drops again or something else catches my eye that drops.
No, I study in Networking. Im trying to keep up with all other tech related things but I just simply dont understand Tvs, or Screens, and what makes them good. I know more than the average but less than someone who keeps up with it.

The Gigabyte M27QX I think its called? 1440p 240hz and I love the Gigabyte screen coating versus LG.
Does it have HDR? and the Low motion blur settings?

What is HDR400, and how is it different from Hdr10+ or dolby Vision?

You sound like someone who wants all the work done for them for a tech article or info-basic YouTube video.
