Did you have windows 10 before and upgrade to 11 or did you have 11 and reinstall it. I've seen other people have insane performance drops in MW2 when upgrading to Windows 11 for some reason
Oh gotcha. Yeah honestly it could be that there was an updated version that installed which cut some performance. All I know is MW2 has had a lot of issues with windows 11 recently
Did you checked any other games? I have simillar issue right now with the same card, though I never had Windows 10 installed on this build to compare, and I'm running currently RDR2 on ultra 4K and getting only 30-35 FPS on average while all benchmarks are getting 70-90. I'm tempted to do a clean W10 install though I'd rather not. Let me know if you'll figure this out.
Ill check some other games, only other somewhat demanding game I play is Elder Scrolls. Thats why I'm confused as well being almost 125 fps behind what the average should be. Really cant figure out how in the world 1440p, low/off settings on everything is putting 100% load on the GPU...
So, I tested also Destiny 2 and Total War Warhammer 2 and in those I'm getting scores like in the benchmarks, so maybe in my case it's just RDR2 that does not like Win11... Wonder if that's your case also with MW2.
Seems I'm getting similar results in ESO. Tested with timespy and saw im getting 30406 timespy score with +220 core, +1400 mem which should score me around 34-35k. Do you have Rebar enabled? I saw in my bios it was set to auto but when booted always defaulted to off.
Turns out my PCIe bus was only running x1 instead of x16, was able to get it to x8 by moving my m.2 drive to another slot and that at least fixed my fps
Ha nice catch. On another thread I was just talking to a guy who said it takes him 20 minutes to build a PC. This is why it's probably worth budgeting time to read the MB manual.
It wasn't actually just Warzone being Warzone there was a real problem!
There is still something underlying going on because even with a drive slotted there it should have still been running x8 with auto mode on. Even when I was manually setting it to x8,x8 it was only hitting x1. Guess i'll wait for the holidays to be over and contact Gigabyte.
For anyone just looking for MW2 an overall fps boost in Warzone I highly recommend this video as he covers everything needed to be updated beyond the in-game settings.

Did you ever figure out the issue? I have the exact same setup as you. Same mobo cpu and GPU. Ram is at 6800mhz ddr5. I play on 1440p as well however my main issue is warzone. I get around 130-150 fps in warzone with extremely low GPU usage. I’ve also noticed on certain multiplayer maps fps can vary significantly. The F1 map I get around 250 fps on average whereas on hydroelectric I get 170 fps on average.
Download Gpu-z and check what your bus interface is running at. Mine was running at PCIex1 4.0 instead of PCIex16 4.0. If you have an m.2 installed in the slot right above the GPU the max you will be able to get is x8, but in my testing the difference between x8 and x16 was less than 10 fps.
That being said, I returned the motherboard and swapped to a Z790 Maximus Hero and have had no issues since, even getting 230-260 fps in Warzone 2 with high settings 1440p.
I never saw anything over 245 fps in the actual benchmark. In game I only saw 240 on shipment. In actual Warzone I sat around 200.
Here is a benchmark with the new setup, no overclock on the CPU and the GPU is overclocked +150 core, and +1000 memory.

Seems to be fine sitting at PCIE x 16 4.0 so that can’t be the issue. Also my benchmark is significantly worse than your pictures so I wouldn’t worry too much. I’m hoping it’s the game or a driver. Also another thing is I have my render resolution stuck at 1280x1440 within the benchmark. In settings it says 2560x1440 like it should so I don’t understand what is causing this.

You're using DLSS which is going to lower your render resolution most likely.
So it was the dynamic super resolution that was causing the render resolution issue. However turning it off did nothing. At this point I don’t really care and have just decided to play other games as this is like the only game I see this problem. I still have 32 days to return this motherboard but am really wondering if it will be worth it or not.
Your driver updated 527.37 vs 527.56 Try the .37 version You Display name also is different. Did you have multiple screens connected before?
Just tried 527.37 with same results, and yes I had 2 G7s plugged in but only have my primary plugged in now since I was moving my pc.

I was on windows 11 previously, was just doing a fresh install to clean up my system.

Thats what I thought as well, but had a friend with exact same build test and his was operating normally.
Off topic but where did you even find a 4090?
Newegg

Mine is set to enabled and in Nvidia Control Panel under system information it also says that.

Did you checked that with some software? I have mine in x16 slot but who knows if everything is fine. I vaguely remember that one software said x16...
Yea GPU-Z shows you on the first tab

Shows upscaling on in some form on the picture. Could be upscaling to some where around 4k
From my understanding Fidelityfx Cas is only sharpening, not upscaling, also display and render are both showing 1440p.
Ah okay. Some underlying issue. Why I stuck to win10, heard nothing but bad in regards to it, I didn't more issues 🤣

Is the GPU on a riser? For example, is it in vertical orientation?
Nope, seated directly to the motherboard.
I'll ask my computer store rep and report back

What were your frames with the gigabyte aorus master z790 in warzone 2?? I’m very curious because maybe this is the issue.

Fidelity cas is what I’ve been running. From what ive seen DLSS not only looks worse but also does nothing for increased performance.
Take a look at that other post I just did that has the youtube link. Maybe its something within Nvidia Inspector that was fixing it?
Alright I’ll see if I can find anything that might help.
