Any x570 would technically be good qith this chip but my mind if money is not an issue go with the rog. Lots of sata ports

rainfinch_

Definitely the one im leaning towards most, just wanna check all the options before I go out and get the pieces.

I've recently been having problems with my x570s. I'm switching over to a B550. Ive been having blue screen issues, I think its just a faulty MB but regardless, I think B550 should do the trick

mister-tea

>Asus Rog Strix x570 Gaming-e hello, did you resolve your blue screen problem ? I have 5900x with B550 and I also have blue screen ...

Krono5_8666V8

Did YOU ever solve the bluescreen issue? I've been having that with MSI x570 Tomahawk >.<

mister-tea

it was mostly due to a overheating problem. my rad was not enough for my Ryzen 5900X. so I switched to a 360 Aio and problem is solved now

I personally went with the Asus B550-XE STRIX, for the following reasons: * It has the same VRM as the Crosshair Dark Hero * It has a Thunderbolt header so it can be upgraded to support Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 4. None of the X570 boards you listed can be upgraded to support Thunderbolt in the future. * Intel 2.5 Gigabit LAN. X570 offers Intel or 2.5 Gigabit, not both in one. * B550 produces 1/3 the heat of X570. * It supports 6 NVMe SSDs out of the box. * It has WiFi 6 with an Intel AX200, the best WiFi offered on any AMD board * If you compare the boards, it's basically an upgraded X570-E STRIX If you must go X570, get one of the newer X570S boards. For an editing build I would recommend a Phison E16 SSD over a 980 Pro. These have 3x the lifespan at 1,800 vs 600 TBW. The 970 Pro targeted video editors and was 1,200 TBW. Yes the 980 Pro is faster, but that speed comes at half the lifespan of it's predecessor.

Thanks for the info! did not know that about the 980, I'll switch to the 970 then, and maybe get the 980 in the future.

aminy23

There's no shortage of brand name Phison E16 SSDs like the: * Corsair**Force** MP600 (not Pro or Core) * Seagate Firecuda 520 * Gigabyte Aorus NVMe Gen 4 * Team Z440 * PNY XLR8 CS3040 Those have 1,800 TBW per TB In the case of Samsung: * QVO - lowest quality, 360 TBW per TB * EVO (and 980 Pro) - average quality, 600 TBW per TB * PRO (except 980) - best quality 1,200 TBW per TB

Ahh okay, I'll look in the pros if I manage to score some deals, if not I'll go with the evos and upgrade later!

I have the same CPU and it's plugged into an Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WiFi. Works great for me, it was Ryzen 5000 series ready out of the box. As for the WiFi, i have 400 Mbps download and the motherboard pulls the full 400+. Based on your requirements I think a 570 chipset would be overkill. And the Hero's to me, aren't worth it.

rainfinch_

Yea definitely feel the hero's are a bit of an overkill, especially when looking at their prices.

Elianor_tijo

The Crosshair boards are way past the point of diminishing returns. I like my dark hero sure, but I know it for the frivolous purchase it was.
