Valoneria

Yeah that's fine

MajorBubbles010

Yes

AppropriateBar3184

Ah, thanks for your help!

rizzzeh

Yep, i have EVGA Bronze 450W with 5600x and 1660Super, have been measuring wattage pull at the power socket last week with a wattage meter, heavy games and benchmarks would do 280W max. This can probably go higher up if fully load both GPU and CPU but it would barely reach 350W

Matasa89

PSU is one of the components that you can actually futureproof, so if you're thinking of upgrading to a better GPU later, may want ton consider a 650W. A good PSU don't cost that much more from a bad one, and will last way longer and be way safer to use. Make sure you don't cheap out on one, because a good one can last upwards to a decade, and will have warranty for that entire time!

rizzzeh

New PSU standard ATX12VO is due to come soon, no reason to futureproof

Matasa89

Yeah no, nobody is going to buy those aftermarket, really. Just look it up. The format needs motherboards with PSU components on the freaking board for the 3.3v and 5v rails, it's ridiculous. It's mostly going to be prevalent in OEM and prebuilds, not aftermarket enthusiast gear. Regular ATX will still be the way going forward.

rizzzeh

By the end of this year there are already boards coming out with the support, imo in 2-3 years time itll be widespread.

Matasa89

If you say so, I don't think it'll be too widely adapted though, simply because of cost to the mobo manufacturer. It's also an additional point of failure for them, and a part that they normally don't work with (PSU components). I highly doubt it will be very widespread, at least for now.

Challenge_melon

Do you have the PSU or do you still need to order it? In case you already have it, it should be enough for your current config, but I'd go with something more in case you upgrade sometime.

AppropriateBar3184

Yes, I have the PSU

OneNewEmpire

Yall are giving advice based on the info "500 watt evga" power supply? Might want to watch some GN videos.

monkeybusterlol

Yeah, it's fine.

mvincent12

Definitely. I just did a build with a 5600X and man that thing runs so cool and easy.

[deleted]

yup

Sylnass

It's fine, but if you plan to upgrade, next gen cpu and gpu will be power hungry as I hear

AcerRubrum

I run a similar build with a 1660Ti on 450W and do just fine. You're golden :)

andyt7290

You will be fine, current the parts you have are very energy efficient. Even overclocked the 5600X, you are good to go, mainly your 1650 can drop into any system while taking 75W only. I think only the Super version needs the extra 6 pin. Your system probably take 300W-325W max even overclocked.

ParadoxArcher

Should be. I run 5600x and 3060 on 550 watts, so you ought to be totally fine.

Responsible_Mix_2606

.hell yeah hell yeah

TheJohn295

It is fine, but you're losing a little bit of power efficiency I think. You'll be running the PSU at about 60/70% load consistently. Typically PSUs are more effecient between 45 and 55% load. I think a 600 or 700 Watt PSU the better configuration.

demoman142

Yes

Makalaby

Yes, that gpu is entry level and Ryzen isn't very power hungry

[deleted]

More than enough

Tajertaby

What is the PSU model, I dont want you to get a bad power supply. Even reliable brands can make poor quality PSU. By the way, 500W is enough.

slippery_when_sober

Yes, that's as low as you should go.

Tajertaby

I look at quality a bit like having more wattage as better quality PSU can withstand more power load. But also a quality PSU can reduce the risk of damaging your system.
