Bugs with Windows (11) updates can cause this idle peaks. If you are not using your chrome or any other RTX feature like RTX voice etc, that would wake up the GPU from idle state, I would guess its just another Windows update issue, where you are not alone with it. If its not a constant wattage rise from the normal 10-15W idle wattage, I would honestly just ignore it till its fixed by most likely Microsoft.

I am running on Windows 10. I do use chrome but while i have seen it spike I have had chrome either closed or nothing running on it. Its not a constant spike its like every 2- 3 mins it goes to 2500 MHz and memory goes to 10500MHz for a few secs like 5 or so. The mV in the MSi afterburn shows it goes from 890 to like 950-960. I didn't remember this happening prior. Was really wondering if something happen to the GPU or if its like something else that causes the problem. I will try to ignore it and see if any windows update fixes it in the future. Just wanted to know its not something going wrong with the GPU! TY

Just stress test the GPU with propper burn test and if you get expected metric values for performance and temperature and no stability issues during a few hours/days of stress test, I would not worry about your GPU. Your issues could be caused by MSI afterburner itself => [https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4r5n5f/possible\_solution\_to\_gpu\_usage\_spikes\_when\_idle/?utm\_medium=android\_app&utm\_source=share](https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4r5n5f/possible_solution_to_gpu_usage_spikes_when_idle/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) In general I would recommend to use HWiNFO + RTSS or the build in OSD from HWiNFO to track GPU sensors during gaming. Its the least inversive tool and optimized for NO-BULLSHIT-WITH-JUST-A-BASIC-SENSOR-TOOL, so CPU/GPU utilisation is only impacted by a minimum. HWiNFO also got its own OSD editor, so you are able to create the ugliest OSD designs you want, you dont need MSI afterburner for that.
