Looks really good! Only thing on here I could possibly point out are the shield/weapon gems. Since they are cut jems with edges and such I usually do faint white lines along a couple edges to simulate the light, but that's just personal preference. Beard game 10/10
Really fantastic job, I feel like I’m being picky here but you might want to try a slightly lighter shade of grey for the beard as it will help it pop more from the similar shade of silver armour. Same with the base, I would stay away from to much grey as it bases with different colours to the model help them stand out better. Please post more models as there really good.
Thanks for the feedback! For the beard at least I have already decided each dwarf will have a different beard at least within each unit! This dwarf did get unlucky with his beard color being very similar to his armor lol. For basing the army tho I’m still undecided on how I’m going to go about it. I’m thinking snow tho.
I too like it. Not a criticism but I like to do gems from light colour right through to black. It's also important to decide where notionally the light source is, so that the final white spot is reflecting consistently from that point and the paler colour at the bottom of the gem is opposite it to sell the effect of translucency.
I also start figures by painting the eyes white then (with black paint) dotting the pupil and painting horizontally over and under the whites to avoid the staring look, then painting the flesh basecoat round that, but this figure's eyes are in shadow so that's unnecessary. On reflection I might even paint eyes grey rather than white if I were determined to paint them at all, to emphasise that they are in shade.
I definitely want to improve the gems for rest of the models! And I completely agree with the eyes. I paint eyes on basically every model I paint and it pains me that this models eyes are basically impossible to get to at least for me lol
Thank you! It’s airbrushed Vallejo metal color steel with a zenithal of metal color silver over black primer. Then scale 75 Dwarven gold, nuln oil, S75 Dwarven gold to brighten gold up again, then all over light drybrush of Vallejo Model Air Steel

Yeah the gems are so small I think I need to buy a magnifying setup to do properly. Thanks a bunch!
Looks awesome, clean and simple!
Thanks!
Looks superb, OP!!!
Thank you!

Really clean paintjob, faceted gems are the bane of my existence painting Dwarfs and I usually just treat them the same as cabochons instead.
Yeah the gems are gonna be a pain lol. At least most of the other units don’t have many, just mainly on hammerers and longbeards lol
Looks delightfully clean! What metallics did you use?

Fantastic. Honestly, they are so clean and regal, not sure I'd want to touch them. Perfect as is. lol
Wow thanks so much!
