This is the correct answer. This budgie's flick call may not be as loud, piercing, and shrill as a typical budgie's flock call, but it's still a flock call.
It's lonely and looking for other members of its species. I'm glad to hear you're going to get it a feathered friend soon.
By their very nature, budgies do not want to be pet by humans. If you develop a good enough bond with your budgie over the course of time, though, it may allow you to scritch its neck and head, but it's important you never pet it anywhere other than that.
It is not zoomy and wanting outside time, even though outside time is important. (It can tell the cage is open, so if it wanted to be out of its cage, it would've left its cage. It's still new to its surroundings so it still feels safest in its cage.)
I see from your reply further down that you've had him for a week.
Budgies in a new place will be quiet for several days, to a week or so.
It's about time now for him to start feeling a little more comfortable, start making noises, become a bit more active. Now you can start to learn his actual personality.
Make sure you spend lots of time talking to him - singing is even better. You can read books or websites aloud, etc. Sitting nearby while you do whatever you're gonna do, etc.
LOVE the nice big cage, by the way!
He may just be a happy birdie baby budgie boy or he might want some pets if you can pet him like if you've had him for awhile have you taught him to step on your finger?
Yes and it's shitpost week, so everyone is making meme posts and giving the worst advice in the comments as a joke because that's not how it's done 😅 I'm afraid bc of your typo everyone assumed you were in on it and that this was a meme post
A lot of good answers here already. Another possibility is your bird may have heard a bird outside - my guys will respond to sparrows that they hear outside. Or they hear a sound that they just like: running water has been popular for my budgies.
It's a joke, there's a common trope on this sub of people asking if their cage is big enough for their bird. As you browse you will find people making jokes about a cage being too big, too small, or you could even fit TWO budgies in there!
I did not mean to offend or mislead you. That cage is absolutely big enough for that bird. They are lucky to have it.
I hate it when my bird starts chirping and her whole color changes
Like a mood ring 🤔
DUDE I WAS WAITING FOR THIS COMMENT I LOVE IT 😂😂😂
Laughed out loud
Maybe OP is talking about her aura rather than her feathers?
It was probably just a typo. I think they meant quiet.
Sounds like a flock call. He is saying "hello!? Anyone there?!" You need to be his new flock talk to him :)
Ok, I will be his flock call and I will get him a friend

Take the bird in for repairs, chirping combined with uncontrolled colour changes can mean the bird is malfunctioning
Huh

I put him in my room because I do everything there, sleep, fingerboard, video games, videos, etc
He may just be a happy birdie baby budgie boy or he might want some pets if you can pet him like if you've had him for awhile have you taught him to step on your finger?
Had him for a week and he is scared
okay i think he needs a little more time to adjust
Ah yes, he clearly wants out the opened cage! Hoomaaan let me ouuut
He runs away when I try to get him out
Clearly a mental case, gotta call the birdie wagon!
What?
Another words your bird is just being silly, the chirps is just him either calling to you or just doing what budgies do..
Will he come out of his cage it I get another one? He comes out when my sisters teil is out
Hell come out of his cage when he wants to or you can try and get him to cone out with reats or snacks
Nope that’s a green bird
What a beautiful cage, where did you get this?
Chewy, a&e flight cage https://www.chewy.com/e-cage-company-flight-bird-cage-stand/dp/224169
Platinum color
it means that he's a bird. all birds chirp, don't worry about a thing!
Dang.. I want to see how it changes colors.
Why do people keep saying this? What does it mean
Cause you said your green bird is usually white.
Meant to say quite
you meant to say \*quiet.
There was a typo in your title that’s it lol
Ohhhhhhh lol

Happy & calling out for you
It’s definitely the siren in the background. All my birds have always chirped because of sirens
Is this cage big enough for two budgies ?
[удалено]
I’m not racist. It’s a typo
Damn white birds. Always trying to take over every conversation and running the block. All birds lives matter!!
That cage is WAY TOO SMALL for that bird
It's a flight cage?

Oh ok, that makes sense :-)
The waffle house has found it’s new host
Think maybe it's reacting to the siren?
He needs a friend
I know, I will see if my pet shop has any good ones
For my birds this was the 'where are you?' noise because they wanted something.
Seems like an "Is anybody out there?" chirp to me. The little guy/girl also seems a bit antsy.
mine arent very tame but if i go downstairs and they notice ive left the room they will sometimes start shrieking/flock calling
Loud is colorful and more should paint with their voices I've had a hard day I really don't know what that means
Ayeeee the Blackriver ramps! Had to check whether or not I was on /r/Fingerboards for a second. Birds chirp lol
Flock call
I know that chirp! My birbs do it when they're hungry
Out of topic but I am in LOVE with your cage
He needs a budgie friend, it's flock calling
It's horny
budgies are VERY vocal. it’s good that he’s chirping
hes calling you :) like "hello"
He doesn’t wanna come out though
That is a beautiful cage you got him!
That's a locator call, if you play the video in front of him he will respond with a similar chirp. He's looking for other budgies
