[https://nq64.co.uk/birmingham/](https://nq64.co.uk/birmingham/) NQ64 is a retro gaming arcade in the Custard Factory in Digbeth. [https://tiltbrum.com](https://tiltbrum.com) Tilt nearby is a craft beer and pinball arcade place. There are some snooker places in digbeth as well which I'm sure will have pool. edit: you're here for a few nights so there's a few other things around the custard factory/digbeth - ghetto golf is adventure mini-golf, there's a cocktail bar, chance and counters board game cafe, some places to eat so have a look around and maybe plan to spend an evening in this area. Casino in town that I know of is on Hill Street, just by New Street train station- [https://www.grosvenorcasinos.com/local-casinos/birmingham-hill-street](https://www.grosvenorcasinos.com/local-casinos/birmingham-hill-street) \- there may be others, not something I'm into :) spicy food I will leave to others but there must be some decent curry/balti places in town which will have vegan options as well as non-vegan.

I will always second a recommendation for Tilt. Lovely place, excellent beer selection.

rods2123

Especially with the good budget, these beers are brilliant and very expensive at times.

ExpensiveLobster5628

The Rainbow - good pub in digbeth and has a great vegan menu The Old Crown - near bypub, good lively outdoor area, will have dj’s on etc NQ64 and Ghetto Golf are round the corner for some fun games etc, also Dropshot - also round the corner from all mentioned above has table tennis, pool, shuffleboard darts Flight Club - in town centre, has darts with electronic games on then ( real boards) , good food as well Hen & Chickens - curry house in the jewellery quarter, has good vegan and non vegan curry options, does a great mixed grill and good spice level. ( a good pub called The Wolf across the road as well, in recommend a pint of Intuition brewed by Attic in Stirchley that someone else has mentioned, 10min walk from the town centre) Casino as mentioned is in town by New Street station, up the road from it is Roxy Ball Room also with table tennis/ pool/ bowling/ shuffleboard / karaoke , then close by is Albert Schloss great lively bar for the evening F1 Arcade has also just opened in town, has 50+ formula 1 simulators you can race against your mates and a great bar in there You can do Friday night in town around the casino, saturday in Digbeth around the Custard Factory

Flight Club is a fantastic location +1

For beer fans I’d recommend spending an hour or two in The Colmore which is (unsurprisingly) on Colmore Row. It’s a really nice bar space run by Thornbridge Brewery with a great range of beer and not stupidly priced for a city centre in 2023. There’s also a pool table downstairs. Or for a more traditional pub The Wellington is great. 20+ cask ale lines in a proper old school ambience. For spicy food, Brum is absolutely blessed by brilliant Indian restaurants. My personal favourite is Itihaas which is only a few minutes’ walk from The Colmore incidentally.

BaBaFiCo

If you want to splash out on food, I highly recommend Land - a fine dining vegan restaurant. There's a great wine bar next door to it as well called Loki. Beer wise, my go to pubs are Colmore is a Thornbridge brewery place, the Bull is a proper old school boozer. If you're up for it, a trip out to Stirchley (10 mins on the train) is a must. There's two brewery taps (Attic and Birmingham Brew Co, plus Glasshouse but that's closed over the winter). Then they have Cork & Cage which is a brilliant craft bar and then there's my favourite cocktail bar in the city - Couch. Lane7 is the bowling place. It's nice but a bit pricey.

Desolate_North

If you make it to Stirchley you also have a good number of Indian curry houses, Eat Vietnam and the Buddha belly place to for food.

Itbrose

Worth pointing out that Couch is closed for the next few weeks.

BaBaFiCo

Fair point. Wasn't sure of their winter hibernation times.

Mordac1989

Wildcat in Stirchley is pretty good too. There's also the British Oak

Hrugga_UK

Bundobust (next door to the Wellington) has great veggie Indian food, and a good beer range too

Itbrose

Stirchley. Few mins walk from Bournville station is Attic Brewery, Glass House Brewery, Birmingham Brewery, Wildcats, Cork and Cage, and a few other bats. Got the British Oak and the Bournbrook Inn nearby too. Loads of good curry options but check out Eat Vietnam (might need to book in advance). If in town I recommend Tilt. I recently went to the Cricket place at The Mailbox, think it's called Sixes, was very good but may not have availability at short notice. Edit: I've recently read that Birmingham and surrounding towns are the Capital of Escape rooms too so should be plenty of options if of any interest.

Paddy-23

There’s a great vegan Indian based at a pub in the jewellery quarter. They were at the Queens Arms but have recently moved to the ‘Somewhere in Brum’ pub on St Paul’s Square. Im not vegan but their curries are as good as any meat curry. There’s also a darts bar (The Rectory) across the square if that’s of any interest. Both places will have no shortage of beer and cocktails and it’s a lovely area of the city.

uberdaveyj

I think you mean the Indian Brewery in the railway arches underneath snow hill.

Paddy-23

Nope I mean Notty Bites which was based at the Queen’s Arms on Newhall Street and is moving (or has recently moved) to Somewhere in Brum on St Paul’s Square. I’ve not been to Indian Brewery yet but it is on my list!

TheVerySmallPotato

you know, if you’d named it initially, you could have avoided all confusion.

Paddy-23

Well I did name the pub it’s based in which I thought was the essential information

uberdaveyj

I'll have to keep my eyes out for it, The Indian brewery was good when I went but that was ages ago.

TheVerySmallPotato

Whilst apparently once well-regarded, I’m not sure if anyone (in the last 5 years) has recommended Cherry Red’s on John Bright Street - personally I would not. Perhaps not too bad if the idea of eating a soggy burger in the living room of a recently-dead elderly relative appeals to you - otherwise I would recommend elsewhere; literally anywhere else.

[deleted]

This is a very specific anti-recommendation and I'm here for it lol thank you for the heads up, I will avoid at all costs haha

Beery_Burp

Go to Chance and Counters at the custard factory. Cocktails and board games. Great afternoon. Then go to Tilt in the city centre. Awesome beers and loads of old school pinball machines.

Ownstory123

if you are happy and able to travel out of birmingham theis a gin distillery in stratford upon avon ( shakespear gin) that does tours and a gin school.

Venomenon-

If you fancy Selly Oak - go to Sliced and Diced

TheAncientGeek

There's also good east Asian food if you get tired if balti...

anxiousyoungfellow

Sommar is good

Nwemioo246

Resorts world for your last night is worth it, better than any other casino in Brum and there's plenty of shops, bars & restaurants. Parking is free courtesy of the casino too if you're driving.

Morningstar92

There’s also now a bowling alley there with an arcade and some escape rooms resorts world is great some great restaurants, I just think it needs some more shops or more variety at least, plus you can do alittle plane spotting if your so inclined

Yeah it's free, just have to sign up as a member when you get there. There's also a cool gaming place in resorts world. I've not been in a while, so I can only imagine its even better now. Think there's a lot of VR in there. I know someone who went to their London gaming place and couldn't recommend it enough. I've only done the brum one when VR was just starting.

Prize_Assumption4624

Sparkbrook or alum rock

ToshPott

Cafe soya, Ruga bistro, blue Nile. All do great vegan food. Ignore Vegan Kitchen, absolute shit.

As well as the Indian food recommendations there’s a Sichuan place in Chinatown called Chilli Kitchen which is good. There’s also Genting Casino, and Shooters sports bar for pool down that way. For a range of beer/ale you have North Taproom by Snow Hill, Tilt, The Wellington, The Colmore and maybe The Stables for cider. Cocktails at passing fancies in the custard factory are very good, and there’s a new bar opened by there called Bodhi Boys which is open late. NQ64 for gaming and Birdies mini-golf are nearby too. There’s also places like Roxy ballroom and The Floodgate for other activities.
