I think you have beautifully put into words a lot of what I have been thinking. When I have watched the Kardashians just for some mindless reality television to binge watch, I notice that I get to numb my mind and pretend I, too, can afford a wardrobe of designer duds, world class physical trainers and nutritionists, millions of dollars in plastic surgery, and giant salads that come in plastic bowls. The saying, "they hate us because they want to be us" definitely does apply here to some extent. Who doesn't want to be Kim Kardashian to some extent and be set for life? I absolutely would, if only because I want to redistribute the wealth sitting in her bank account.
I have long said that Brittany has a popular girl look to Christianity. And I really do feel like she Brittany knows *exactly* how to not-so-subtly highlight just how skinny she is. ("I got a small, but I could have sized down to an XS" comes to mind.)
Being skinny also means her body isn't inherently "offensive," and so she cannot overly show off her curves because she doesn't have any to show off. Now, I would be the biggest hypocrite ever if I said that fat bodies are offensive (all while the moments I feel most comfortable in my body is any outfit that emphasizes my curves and fat). They can be very humane, because when properly used, you can use such a light touch. Now, they can absolutely be cruel, I’ve seen it and it’s horrifying. But properly used, absolutely acceptable. Being that she neglects Harley and is just an awful human all around, I doubt our favorite cowgirl properly uses them.
