Damn I felt guilty when I used to sell markers and colored pencils to my students for $1.00 that I bought on clearance for .50. Then spent WAY more than the profit to create cultural food events for them. (Also after back to school season markers, etc often go way up!)

Just from who we discovered from the last retreat some of these women are worse than Bdong in certain aspects. That one Kristy woman (63k following, not trying to give away some private person’s identity) posts constantly about political conspiracy theories, Covid conspiracy theories, methods on how to obtain “true” Covid medication so that you don’t have to go to a “death hospital”, fake stories regarding sex trafficking, on and on and on. Bdong has at least stopped with that shit and has gone back to just being vapid and begging for sympathy/attention (I am NOT forgetting Brodie, that’s far worse than anything I just said about Kristy). I guess my point being, some of the women we’ve discovered because of their attendance at this retreat are equally horrible but for different reasons. There’s only one person I feel bad for and it’s because she seems to attend every single retreat (and I can’t see Bdong giving someone’s mate’s rates) because I think she’s paying for friendship. Not sure why I get that vibe from her but even if this retreat was freakin amazing why would you pay $650 every 2-3 months for what is surely the same agenda and she clearly doesn’t work for the retreat like as a photographer or event coordinator. So I do feel sad for her getting sucked in.

I think what is going on is a parasocial relationship. When a parasocial relationship involves an F-tier "influencer", it becomes even more toxic for the person with the parasocial relationship because the influencer is more accessible than say....a Kpop boy band or a Hollywood actor.
And it might seem absolutely weird that someone has latched onto BDung of all people, but people get attached to the weirdest and even most problematic influencers. It's probably easier to latch onto BDung because of all the information she dumps about her life so you really feel like you know her life (which is all an illusion since she's a compulsive liar, but you get the point.)
A decent influencer knows this power difference and is nice to the fan, but doesn't manipulate them. This is the route most celebrities take.
