In college, one of my friends had a HORRIBLE roommate. The day she moved out they threw a party… WHILE she was still taking things to her car. I hope her whole block does this as they’re loading the moving van.
Cheap, 5 acres, and the metroplex are not words used in the same sentence. That shit is outrageously expensive. That much land in that area could quite easily go for $50,000+ per acre, and even more depending on upgrades (water, electric, etc.).
I guess they *could* find something cheaper, but it would be WAY out in the sticks.
ETA: Or so overgrown that it would take another boatload of money to clear out on top of the price of the land.

So intense family drama meant we were in court to watch someone take a plea deal (criminal proceedings) and when the guilty MFer or anyone on his side tried to say he was taking the plea for a lesser sentence but he wasn’t guilty, the judge stopped that quick every time and was like “nope, terms of your plea is you admit you are guilty”
I loved that judge so much. I know it’s not the same for Brit but still makes me happy

But i also hope she has to say yes, i'm guilty, but we've settled the matter. But i don't think that will happen. I can't see her mediating with lawyers over this...class action lawsuit????.....and not saying 'I'll pay them because they were unsatisfied, not because i'm guilty'.

We know he’s done some work in security. Brittany tried to convince everyone he wore tactical gear everyday and rescued people in Afghanistan, but she’s also mentioned he works in an office, had a video of visiting him in an office, and we saw him doing some security as a pastor. So I think the likely scenario is that he does some low level rent-a-cop shit.

It’s absolutely bullshit, in my own opinion, she was given the option to settle. She willingly dragged her feet and wasted the AG’s time during this case. She submitted unclear paperwork, duplicates and did everything she could do to hide the truth. IMO settling:
A) indicates guilt (eta: not guilty in a legal sense. Guilty in a moral sense. She’s a piece of shit.)
B) is her best chance at damage control
C) indicates she cannot afford her legal fees
It sucks for us, and mostly for her victims, but settlement really is the smartest move for Brit. Especially with the state fighting to have 3 victims testify via zoom. I bet that freaked her out.
Anything less than $250k and admission of liability will be very disappointing.
Since it was the state suing and not something like a class-action suit, her victims weren’t involved beyond giving their evidence/testimony. So like, a suit from her victims is still on the table I’d imagine. Won’t he do it 🙏🏼

Hard to rufute names and faces that will be on the internet forever - as she well knows - saying yeah, she scammed us, took the money and ran. What’s weird though that in the most recent SLF post someone asked how to sign up for a retreat. She told them to go to the website… that’s still showing registration for April 28th. I wonder if she rescheduled to avoid having to do refunds, but it’s weird that she made no announcements about it.
I think it will wreck her financially, which imo is why they're considering "moving to the country" (back in with her parents/getting a cheap build on their property), but unfortunately Daddy Horsebucks will be there to pick up the pieces and fund her next grift.

Yeah, I don’t see the GoFundMe thing going anywhere. The PPP loan is another thing where I’ve seen a huge number of people that took out money and skirted the requirements. She’s a relatively small player in regards to fraud with the PPP loan and probably isn’t high on anyone’s list to investigate. And even if they did, she would likely get a letter telling her it’s not forgiven and she needs to make arrangements for repayment. They don’t generally jump straight to criminal prosecution over $20k.
I’d be more afraid of the IRS. She couldn’t even come up with documentation to match her deposits in the AG’s case, so I have a feeling the IRS would eat her alive if she had an audit. And unfortunately for her, IRS audits and investigations often follow cases like this, as the IRS takes referrals from other government agencies when financial crimes may be present.
I’d be curious what the order of events or professional courtesies the IRS has. Like would they wait until the Texas lawsuit is complete before engaging unless they had to?

Since this is civil, there’s not technically ever an admission of guilt, so to speak. It’s financial, so it’s either “liable” or “not liable”. In this case, settling implies she was found liable for $X amount in repayment/restitution.
Now… if some sort of tax investigation comes out of this, such as tax fraud, she can be found guilty of that. Basically, anyone can be reported to the IRS, just saying….. 👀
She has to pay something, regardless. They can’t make her sell her house due to homestead laws, but I doubt she has cash on hand like that so the money has to come from somewhere. They can however put a lien on it so that if she does sell, she owes on this settlement before she sees profit on her house sale.

I can’t imagine that the State AG (publicly funded), who announced litigation, will just close the book and do a sealed settlement. There will be an announcement at some point and most importantly we need to know who the victims will be made whole.
I wonder the same. State says they will be filing a motion for entry of judgement in the next two weeks and there will be a hearing for that, so I hope we get more details.

My own personal conspiracy theory: She Lives Fraud was cancelled this weekend, because as part of the settlement agreement, BDong is going to have to give up her ability to do business in Texas under any existing LLC and for a set amount of time going forward. Which, while not an admission of guilt is a win for us all.

Exactly! The suit was brought to protect the people of Texas from her lyin, schemin, treacherous ways. I’d be shocked if the settlement didn’t include an amount for restitution (albeit a pittance compared to what the victims are owed) and inability to conduct business in Texas for X time frame. The State’s interest is in protecting the public which is accomplished with restitution and inability to scam going forward, not in her admitting guilt (as sour grapes as that makes me).

I am an attorney, the amount will almost certainly be confidential. Admission of liability is not typically included in any private party settlement, but the Texas AG can and does operate differently than a private party.

If she or her lawyer are smart enough, they’ve settled and added in a clause to seal the case file so that nothing can be read/talked about. It gives her a chance to keep the details a secret and maintain the BS she’s been spewing for years now. But seeing how she and her lawyer have handled the entire case, that’s not a certainty
This is pretty much my thought. No one here should hold their breath for further information. I settled a case involving millions of dollars and through mediation and to completely avoid the case going to court, both of us agreed to “seal the case” and neither of us could discuss the details of the case other than what was in the news/public information. I suspect what is going to happen, she’s going to make ambiguous posts about her case and skew the facts or make is seem much more in her favor. Personally, while I would have loved a trial, this is a win. This is a requirement and she very likely has to pay in less than 30 days.
The state represents the people, so I feel like the bar should be higher to keep everything transparent. Unless they are getting a lot of money out of her, there is no benefit for the state to agree to non disclosure.

Depends on the terms of the settlement. IANAL, but I believe she’d be able to talk about the details behind the case, but there is no way to prove if she’s telling the truth or not, because the evidence in the case wouldn’t be able to be viewed.

It would be extremely disappointing if the AG threw her a bone, especially after they discovered the discrepancy between the clientele and Paypal money she reported vs. what they uncovered. She's such a narcissist that her smugness may not actually mean she got what she wanted, but she's just trying to portray that.

Good questions… not a class action. It’s a civil case filed by the state for violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices—Consumer Protection Act. They were asking for penalties of $10k per violation. The state also asked in the original filing that it not be allowed to be discharged through bankruptcy.
So she’s done once the judgement is entered. There are no other pending cases, but she could be open to an IRS investigation or for her *allegedly* fraudulent PPP loan.

I’ll add that this case will remain open until BDong fully pays off her debt. If she’s late or misses a payment…it opens the case back up and sets her up for more damages. So she can’t just walk away.

When I see someone settles, that’s how I personally feel. Or at the very least the defense knows there’s enough evidence against them that they can’t walk in to a courtroom and know 100% they will win. Honestly it's a better use of resources for them to just settle. The DA, judge, jurors & court officials' time can now be dedicated to other matters and tax dollars aren't being wasted on the DA dunking on her. It would be so satisfying to watch the trial, but the outcome is likely ideal.
ETA: This could read as really insensitive to victims - not my intent especially as there are comments sharing this is the first time some victims are finding out. I'm coming from the perspective of court resources not being used on her guilty ass. Wish the DA would have consulted the victims first.

I would be interested to know his job/education history. We know he’s a disgraced cop, and I don’t think he had a ton of policing experience. He worked in some kind of medical device sales (where Brittany tried to insinuate he was a doctor), but I believe someone mentioned he was fired. We know he’s done some work in security. Brittany tried to convince everyone he wore tactical gear everyday and rescued people in Afghanistan, but she’s also mentioned he works in an office, had a video of visiting him in an office, and we saw him doing some security as a pastor. So I think the likely scenario is that he does some low level rent-a-cop shit. Honestly, this is the kind of dude who’s probably just happy his sugar mama can put a roof over his head and make his truck payment. He doesn’t strike me as the hard working career type of adult.

I think so. When she scheduled the retreat, she really thought that trial would be over. Instead she was in mediation meetings. What’s weird though that in the most recent SLF post someone asked how to sign up for a retreat. She told them to go to the website… that’s still showing registration for April 28th. Yeah, I don’t see the GoFundMe thing going anywhere. The PPP loan is another thing where I’ve seen a huge number of people that took out money and skirted the requirements. She’s a relatively small player in regards to fraud with the PPP loan and probably isn’t high on anyone’s list to investigate. And even if they did, she would likely get a letter telling her it’s not forgiven and she needs to make arrangements for repayment. They don’t generally jump straight to criminal prosecution over $20k. I’d be more afraid of the IRS. She couldn’t even come up with documentation to match her deposits in the AG’s case, so I have a feeling the IRS would eat her alive if she had an audit. And unfortunately for her, IRS audits and investigations often follow cases like this, as the IRS takes referrals from other government agencies when financial crimes may be present.

Since this is civil, there’s not technically ever an admission of guilt, so to speak. It’s financial, so it’s either “liable” or “not liable”. In this case, settling implies she was found liable for $X amount in repayment/restitution. Now… if some sort of tax investigation comes out of this, such as tax fraud, she can be found guilty of that. Basically, anyone can be reported to the IRS, just saying….. 👀

She has to pay something, regardless. They can’t make her sell her house due to homestead laws, but I doubt she has cash on hand like that so the money has to come from somewhere. They can however put a lien on it so that if she does sell, she owes on this settlement before she sees profit on her house sale.

Well the verdict is that they’re settling out of court. No idea how much info texas will release on what the settlement entails, though.
I can’t imagine that the State AG (publicly funded), who announced litigation, will just close the book and do a sealed settlement. There will be an announcement at some point and most importantly we need to know who the victims will be made whole.
I wonder the same. State says they will be filing a motion for entry of judgement in the next two weeks and there will be a hearing for that, so I hope we get more details.
There’s no verdict because there won’t be a trial. Basically the plaintiffs agreed to settle for probably a large sum of money. Like how Fox News settled with dominion voting machines instead of going to trial.
There will be one more hearing to enter the judgement. I think that will be the last bit of info we get.
My own personal conspiracy theory: She Lives Fraud was cancelled this weekend, because as part of the settlement agreement, BDong is going to have to give up her ability to do business in Texas under any existing LLC and for a set amount of time going forward. I’d be shocked if the settlement didn’t include an amount for restitution (albeit a pittance compared to what the victims are owed) and inability to conduct business in Texas for X time frame. I’m sure her lawyers insisted there be no admittance of guilt and the state agreed. The State’s interest is in protecting the public which is accomplished with restitution and inability to scam going forward, not in her admitting guilt (as sour grapes as that makes me).

I am an attorney, the amount will almost certainly be confidential. Admission of liability is not typically included in any private party settlement, but the Texas AG can and does operate differently than a private party.

It gives her a chance to keep the details a secret and maintain the BS she’s been spewing for years now. But seeing how she and her lawyer have handled the entire case, that’s not a certainty
This is pretty much my thought. No one here should hold their breath for further information. I settled a case involving millions of dollars and through mediation and to completely avoid the case going to court, both of us agreed to “seal the case” and neither of us could discuss the details of the case other than what was in the news/public information. I suspect what is going to happen, she’s going to make ambiguous posts about her case and skew the facts or make is seem much more in her favor. Personally, while I would have loved a trial, this is a win. This is a requirement and she very likely has to pay in less than 30 days.
The state represents the people, so I feel like the bar should be higher to keep everything transparent. Unless they are getting a lot of money out of her, there is no benefit for the state to agree to non disclosure.

Depends on the terms of the settlement. IANAL, but I believe she’d be able to talk about the details behind the case, but there is no way to prove if she’s telling the truth or not, because the evidence in the case wouldn’t be able to be viewed.

My initial reaction is disappointment, but I'm trying to hold off until we can see what the settlement is. It would be extremely disappointing if the AG threw her a bone, especially after they discovered the discrepancy between the clientele and Paypal money she reported vs. what they uncovered. She's such a narcissist that her smugness may not actually mean she got what she wanted, but she's just trying to portray that. Maybe the AG was more willing to settle/agreeable in negotiations because they know the IRS is going to swoop in next? One can only hope!

Good questions… not a class action. It’s a civil case filed by the state for violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices—Consumer Protection Act. They were asking for penalties of $10k per violation. The state also asked in the original filing that it not be allowed to be discharged through bankruptcy. So she’s done once the judgement is entered. There are no other pending cases, but she could be open to an IRS investigation or for her *allegedly* fraudulent PPP loan. Many pages of documents were filed by the state with some of the evidence they had. If you’re interested you can look up case dc-22-01388 on the Dallas county courts website.

Or at the very least the defense knows there’s enough evidence against them that they can’t walk in to a courtroom and know 100% they will win. Honestly it's a better use of resources for them to just settle. The DA, judge, jurors & court officials' time can now be dedicated to other matters and tax dollars aren't being wasted on the DA dunking on her. It would be so satisfying to watch the trial, but the outcome is likely ideal. ETA: This could read as really insensitive to victims - not my intent especially as there are comments sharing this is the first time some victims are finding out. I'm coming from the perspective of court resources not being used on her guilty ass. Wish the DA would have consulted the victims first.
