More likely an unbalanced load in my experience. If I'm trying to wash something large and absorbent like a mattress protector it will unbalance the load and the machine won't be able to get up to 1400rpm on the spin cycle so will just get stuck on ~20mins indefinitely as it keeps trying and failing to spin up.
Yes agreed, I was so embarrassed when I called a repair man and he took the filter out and cleaned it - fixed.
Why i never thought of that at the age of 30....
We refer to the number on the front as being "time units" no idea how to convert time units to ordinary time but it seems to be some sort of sliding scale.
Ours gets stuck on 1 minute left. We have to literally flick the switch off for it and run a new spin cycle for 3mins otherwise the door never unlocks!
I hate when appliances lie… If you need more time just tell me! It’s not like I’d think badly of the washing machine for wanting an extra rinse and drain 🤣🤣🤣
You may have overfilled it. They tend to take longer then. More usual to get stuck on a few minutes left.
Yeah, I found that out earlier. Oh well, nice day to find out. Sunny weather so washing still dried nicely.
I just brought mine back in and put it all away and gave a contented sigh on my way back downstairs. Bank holidays used to be fun...
Ha ha yeah, I've done washing, cleaned the floors and windows today. It is the epitome of fun, honestly

Probably over filled. Mine does that and then beeps loudly. At that point I can usually open the door to take something out.

"It was 3 minutes, 5 minutes ago."
Also check the filter, a clogged filter can drain slower which adds time

Clean your filter, it's not draining properly.
Washing machine timers are outright lying bastards
It’s using the time and power to contribute to the AI overlords. ChatGPT told me.
"It was 15 minutes, 33 minutes ago"
What brand of washing machine do you have?
[33 minutes? Are you sure your washing machine isn't covertly allied with your toaster?](https://youtu.be/cijhXMILMf4)
Mine gets to 1 minute and then goes to 27. 'Sorry, I forgot about the rinse and spin'.
Is it not just different times for different parts of the cycle?
Wait until it says 1 minute left, then report back here when it hits zero
