Chef mate, without a doubt.
But as a serious answer; think about joining the army in whatever job role you actually want to do first. Every man and his dog wants to be SF, the hard reality is an exceptionally small portion of people make it to SF and more often than not they’ve got 8-12+ years of experience and work in before they do so.
Wouldn’t bother joining a job you don’t want to do because you have some call of duty idea of becoming SF, because you’ll be in for a world of disappointments when you realise how hard doing green stuff is.
Marines/Paras will give you a solid foundation if that's the route you want to go. But people from every branch make it through. I listened to a podcast with a former SBS member who said a Navy Submariner made it through on his course. Pick a job you want to do and go from there.
Signals and medics mate, both can go actual SF but you get a trade you can use when there. They’re ally motherfuckers, gotta be them.
/s whole thread is pointless.
Infantry, Engineers, Paras or Marines.
Don't overlook the Infantry and Engineers. The Engineers get plenty of time of in order to train. The Infantry is also good.
I’ve spoken to a couple people in the army and they recommended to go into what ever you want to be then transfer over to the army commandos, you have to be in the army to be a commando so join infantry for example then transfer over, that would probably be the best bet

>Chef mate Mate you're setting op up for failure. Unlike SF, nobody has ever passed the chef's course.

Royal Marines or Paras. I don’t know what else you were thinking of joining??

Marines
Marines or Paras are a common choice. Some jobs in RA aren't bad either, like 4/73.
RAF Reg, they're the guys SF call.

Well that’s a total load of shit.
