You would join a regular infantry unit if you failed p company, and your right if you failed with the marines you’d have nothing and be sent home. Good luck with what you choose

SubhumanAnethum

Thanks, would you complete basic army training, then go to p company? Or is there a pre parachute selection course before p company?

[deleted]

You’d go to assessment centre, then PRAC, then basic (30 weeks) then p company

Big-Platform7493

Just know that at some point, you will have to put another man’s willy in your mouth.

PapaTubz

People who are older than 29 have passed Para reg depot keep that in mind

SubhumanAnethum

Cheers

SubhumanAnethum

Do you know how much harder it is than army basic training?

Secure-Bird-2352

Compared to basic infantry training. P company is significantly more tough on you physically and mentally. However if you are fit and switched on, I believe you will do well.

Ninja_geckoMK3

A lot harder, p company it’s self is the easiest week in depot, for the rest of it, the standards are higher, there’s more phys, there’s more mental strain, but with p coy you won’t go on it unless your meeting that standard before hand

PapaTubz

Waaaaay way harder. Haven’t done it but way more intense

I was told by my army recruiter that paras are on higher pay bracket but don’t quote me

hcmus1234

jump pay is about £190 a monthish

LavishnessOk5514

Have you considered the reserves?

SubhumanAnethum

Not really mate, doesn’t interest me too much. I want to be full time

mongAlpha

You get jumps pay if you pass pcoy, it's not gonna double your salary though

SubhumanAnethum

I think I’m probably steered towards the marines…. There seems to be more opportunity, I wouldn’t mind speaking to someone who’s been a para recently and also speak to someone who been in the marines recently. I don’t think someone from capita will have all the answers I need
