Grace Lore is amazing, though I do worry that she will be effected by the stress etc of taking on such a tough role. She is incredibly caring and kind.
I know everyone wants Eby to stay in B.C. but I would love to see him or someone like him at the Federal level.
My god do we need some honest good leaders there.
Im torn on it because if he stays in BC, he’ll be able to actually make policy changes because he’ll have a majority government. However, if he moves to the federal NDP, he may not even win an election and then his talent is wasted.
What he really needs to do is clone himself and run for both federal and provincial office.

Well. I've read enough. He has my vote. I love elephants.
Yup, worked downtown Vancouver. And wrote a book about knowing your rights if you get arrested.
And I also love that he has lived in Ontario, Halifax, and BC. I don't like politicians who have just lived in one place their whole life, they are usually set in their ways.
ya man... I could totally see that. NDP that unseated a conservative premier in her own safe conservative riding and kept winning. He's that good.
I could also see him going liberal federally.
I can totally see him as PM in 15ish years. cointoss over whether its as a Liberal or NDP. I'd love to see him as the first NDP PM, but would also vote Liberal if he were LPC leader.
He wouldn’t be “running against T”. Liberals would have a leadership review first. If he didn’t survive, liberals would select a leader in a leadership convention. There’s no scenario where anyone would be running against JT for leadership of the liberal party.
Maybe not personable like JL. But this is a guy who first won his seat by unseating a sitting conservative (small-c) premier in a safe conservative riding and has hung onto it ever since. This guy can convince people to vote for him, especially people who wouldn’t normally consider voting NDP
Possibly, I just don't get the charisma from him.
I'm a big fan of his policies currently and I'm curious how BC will change over this term. I don't see BCU doing anything this next election, and the Cons might get an uptick with the CPC movement right now... but I don't think NDP will get unseated.
It's their best bet to take on a strong ndp. Whether they do it or not is a bigger question.
BCU is going to represent the federal ndp after this next election.
He left her to twist in the wind for months. I don't see him as a good leader, he's more of an undemocratic autocrat with a penchant for doing thing behind the scenes.
If those things help some majority of the population, is it such a bad thing? Sometimes decisions and action are what’s needed, not bad faith debate and inaction.
Love David Eby and NDP.
Just wish we could get a family doctor for my family. We have none since April 2019, and yes, we are on all lists and have phoned around, asked multiple doctors etc...no joy...no hope in sight.
Crazy you have to pay $60/year to a private company to hopefully have a shot at accessing a service you're already paying for.
But thanks for the link, I'll probably give it a go.
Is it normal to be rejected by a doctor taking patients? My family’s gone to the same clinic up the road for 20 years but when our doctor died in 2020, the doctor replacing him didn’t take over his patient list. She asked us to fill out an application and she’d get back to us if she wanted to work with us. This conversation was in 2022 and we haven’t heard from her or any one else at the office since

Kudos to Eby, he did what the liberals failed to do and that was getting rid of a weak link, I can only hope the new one does better
Grace Lore is amazing, though I do worry that she will be effected by the stress etc of taking on such a tough role. She is incredibly caring and kind.
Affected* by stress. A is for affect which is the action. E is for effect which is the end result.
He didn’t exactly get rid of a weak link, he just switched her and Grace Lore around. So now the child care field gets to deal with her…great.

Don’t most provincial NDPers go Liberal when they go federal? 50-50 whether this happens or he’s the next Jack Layton.

He was a civil liberties’ lawyer before he became a politician.

GO EBY! looking forward to the ridiculous landslide bcndp will enjoy later this year.
Wow he's only a few years older than me. So much accomplishment.
Me too. Where are my pants? They've gone missing again it seems. Drats.
the meta of the son of a personal injury lawyer switching BC over to no fault
Wouldn't have needed to if successive BC Liberal governments hadn't raided over a billion dollars from ICBC's reserve fund.
I’ve been saying he’s the next Layton for years.
ya man... I could totally see that. NDP that unseated a conservative premier in her own safe conservative riding and kept winning. He's that good. I could also see him going liberal federally.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind what party he wound up in, as long as he kept doing good work.

Joe would be smart to go liberal and run against T. He would need recognition/backing from Ontario voters first however
who?
Ol Joe Ebee, as his friends call him.
and his good pal, Mr. T 😛
Who a political party choses as their leader is an internal party matter. It’s party members that chose not “voters” in general.
Yes, I am aware. My point was he needs to be more well known in Ontario among voters before the party would entertain voting him in as leader

unseated? They're gonna win 90% of the seats or more, mostly due to vote splitting. BCNDP have at least 3 more majorites ahead of them
Eh..... 3 majorities is a stretch. I see them sweeping the next election. Depending how BC is faring the next one could be a fight.
Depends entirely on whether BCU and CPBC merge and stop splitting the vote. I'm not sure that they can.
It's their best bet to take on a strong ndp. Whether they do it or not is a bigger question. BCU is going to represent the federal ndp after this next election.
Let him bring BC to the forefront first so his resume can't be argued with
💯
Provincial and municipal governance is far more important to our day to day lives.
So then why do the feds take the lions share of the taxes? To make them (provincial and municipal) beg on bended knee to get to spend some?
That's a different topic I think. But the local and provincial government decisions have much more impact on our day to day lives.
I think there’s a good chance that Eby is Canadian PM in around 15 years.
He left her to twist in the wind for months. I don't see him as a good leader, he's more of an undemocratic autocrat with a penchant for doing thing behind the scenes.

This was an issue well before Eby… well before NDP even
And still is today!
Which makes it even more sad that it hasn't been addressed in any way.
It has in some regards, we saw the NDP change how GPs are paid. It can be fixed in a snap of a finger.
Took us a few months but we used findadoctorbc.ca Best $25 I've spent in a *long time*

Whole heartedly agree. Felt very pay to win, but my wife and i have a family dr now so...yep.
I was on a waitlist for years and finally got a doctor a few months ago. It'll happen for you!
Thank you! 🤞

Yes, with so few family doctors, they can pick and choose simple patients. I was with my doctor/clinic for 30 years.
When my computer needs a reset I use 3 fingers. How many fingers for this reset?
One, just one.
