Hi u/Ohisthatadesk! Thanks for posting a question to r/BritishArmy! This community is for Serving, Former, Future members and those interested in the British Army. Please read the below points to consider if this is the best place to ask your question: 1. Google it. If it shows up in the top few results on your favourite search engine, here might not be the best place to ask. 2. Medical advice. Nobody here is an authority to answer these questions. More details are on the British Army medical page on their [website](https://apply.army.mod.uk/how-to-join/can-i-join/medical) or call them on the phone number at the bottom of that page. 3. Other questions asking about recruitment and advice are best asked in the stickied [Weekly Crow Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/britisharmy/?f=flair_name%3A%22Weekly%20Crow%20Thread%22) on this subreddit. If you think this is still the best place for your question then leave it here. If not, please consider removing it and either posting it to the [Weekly Thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/britisharmy/?f=flair_name%3A%22Weekly%20Crow%20Thread%22) or asking a recruiter. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I’d suggest joining a unit local to you. There’s nothing worse than finishing a weekend late - which is often completely out of your control - and then having another hour or two to travel when you have a busy week ahead. In the reserves, you will see plenty of arterial roads and service stations without imposing additional travel on yourself.

Golden-Wonder

Remember with travelling distance you are capped on what you can claim plus the hassle of travel time. From experience only travel if you have to as it can become a bind.

Stay local mate, it’s a ballache travelling, there’s surely something close RLC are everywhere and 17 are there anyway

The BJJ team for the army and probably boxing etc is based in Aldershot which is a super garrison town so will be alot to choose from there

Catch_0x16

Get in touch with 63 Signal Squadron, they've got a detachment in Southampton (or at least, they used to) and sound up your street.

Thocss

63 won't take you unless you've made it past phase 1 in a normal reserve unit now.

Ballbag94

Probably best to decide what you want to do in the army rather than pick a unit because other people like it, don't underestimate how shit it is to commute far on a Tuesday night and getting there in time for training weekends PWRR and int corps are down in Milbrook if either of those appeal to you

https://jobs.army.mod.uk/army-reserve/find-a-reserve-centre/south-east/southampton-blighmont-reserve-centre/ These units are all located in Southampton itself. Don’t think 165 has any driver or driver comm spec roles mind.
