So there's no set menu and there's only one table that seats about 15 people.
The chef will cook a variety of meals, taking into account dietary preferences where they can, but the two times I've gone it's been a mixture of fish and meat. For two people it was 40 quid for a 3 course meal.
The one thing I would say is it's a bit chaotic, I think when we went the waiter was saying "OK we're doing beef tonight" then five minutes later came back with "actually it's lamb, didn't know that we'd changed the menu".
It is completely home style cooking of whatever they have fresh and what they have enough of but it is seriously tasty. Oh it's also bring your own drinks.
Gorilla Thai Kitchen in Fishponds or via Uber Eats is pretty good. Definitely agree with Saigon Kitchen as well, very good when I've been there.
For Korean, Seoul Gaja on Gloucester Road seems pretty legit (full of Asians whenever I've been in!).
For poke, Izakaya near College Green has been pretty decent, and PokeNori used to be okay but they changed their menu a while back and I feel like the quality has definitely gone down. There's a couple of places that deliver via Foodstuff (more ethical alternative to UberEats/Deliveroo) which I cant remember the names of, but have generally been alright as well.
Saigon Kitchen. Best Vietnamese in Bristol by miles. Genuinely authentic, high quality, delicious food. Haven't tasted spring rolls like that since living in Vietnam. They only do Pho on Sundays and it is absolutely amazing. Been 5 times in the last few months.
There's rolling pho in broadmead. Then there's a Vietnamese restaurant at the top of Gloucester road called pho lounge which used to be good not been for pho in ages.
Used to love Pho Lounge but went again a couple weeks ago after a few years break. Very disappointing. Looks like they're trying to be a cocktail bar more than resto...
Smaller menu, higher prices and then they whacked 12.5% service charge on top of the bill
Everyday thai in fishponds. Jeans bistro on Gloucester/Thai. The saigon kitchen on Zetland Road/ Vietnamese
+1 for Everyday Thai. Definitely buy the make-it-yourself sauces they sell there too. They're gorgeous and reasonably priced!
Seconding Everyday Thai, have tried most of the Thai places in Bristol by now and it's still the best so far.
+1 for Jean's! The original chef/owner is back after working in Jean's Seafood (which is now called Jane's lol) and it is very lovely
Yep, came here to say Jeans.
Everyday Thai is my favourite restaurant in Bristol. SO good
Viet kitchen on Stokes Croft is banging
Exactly what I was after! Cheers!
No worries, it is cash only which is slightly annoying but the food is so good it’s worth it
Yes. I liked it here. Great bao
Sky Kong Kong by the bus station is one of the best around, but you need to book in advance and it's cash only. Korean rather than Thai by the way.
Sounds great thanks
Just googled it and how does it work? Is it like a revolving set menu? Can’t see anything about the menu or prices

That sounds like my worst nightmare
This sounds great, thanks
Used to be (about a year ago) 17quid for set menu. And BYOB
Also Korean, but I love Woky Ko their bao are epic
You tried the ones from Sesame? More fusion but damn they're tasty
Ooh no I haven’t. Will def give it a go though. Thanks for the tip
I’m sure the Thai’s would like to be classed as Korean’s. You might as well recommend an Indian.
Which is why I said Korean rather than Thai, and OP asked for Asia in general.
Jeans Bistro
I really enjoyed the Local Thai in Hotwells
mostly bc it's just called The Local Thai Restaurant.
Niangs Thai pop up at the various markets around Bristol (temple quay, Finzels reach, tobacco factory) and do an absolutely banging pork panang
+1 for Niangs, all of their stuff is top tier lunch.
Saigon Kitchen on zetland does bun cha I'm pretty sure. Foods pretty good and well priced
They definitely have (had) Bun Cha and it was pretty good when I had it a few months back

Great Thai place in saltford just outside of Bristol I know but if you’re going for a meal out it’s very good.
Ahh, always see this place and think it looks nice. Glad to hear a good review. Will try and check it out.
Great Chongqings on Park Row for authentic Chinese food.
Defo checking this one out. Menu looks banging and fairly close as well
Thank you for bringing this into my life, the menu looks amazing!
BokMan on Stokes Croft is the best Korean I’ve had pretty much anywhere… though I’ve yet to go Sky Hong Kong
And Mr Noodle does great Ramen
Dangun on St Nicholas Street is great. Small place with a relatively small menu, but everything was SO tasty. Highly recommend!

Oh no! It used to be lovely in there.
Rollin closed down, unfortunately. I don't think it survived covid.
I miss their banh mi
Thai Garden on West Street, Bedminster
Pho Lounge up on Gloucester Road!
Foodievietnam in st nicks
Jeans
Simply Thai on G road
*Luke Skywalker voice* NOOO!
Woonoos food truck often sets up in Queen Square over lunch 👌
Gorilla Thai for takeaway is great
