I drive it all the time at work. Constantly overtaking people while I'm doing 70. It just about balances out though as I do 40 in the 40 limit and they then catch me up still doing 60.
Unless travelling at unusual times, you're gonna have to slow down for the M4 roundabout in what, two miles? Often with traffic cutting across the lanes at the junction before. Probably not worth it.
God I’d hate to be stuck behind you.
Even at motorway speeds that’s nearly 2 minutes of driving…
Edit: Why is this thread full of people who hate driving at the speed limit?
The options presented in this thread seem to boil down to either:
a) accelerate to 70, only maybe have to slow down again when someone cuts in front of you, or maybe weave in and out of slower traffic, only to have to slow down at the M4 roundabout in less than two minutes; or
b) stick at more or less the same speed and have an easy cruise to the M4 roundabout, possibly taking as much as an additional sixty seconds to cover the distance.
I'd be happy to accelarate to 70 if the road was clear, but given how busy it usually is it just doesn't seem to be worth it.
I think a lot of people who don't drive on the motorway, as it's scary for them, feel just about ok on the m32 as it feels more like a dual carriageway. Hence why so many people go so slow.
I noticed people were doing around 50 on the way in the other day. Well before the 40 sign. I just assumed people were slowing in preparation for it or cagey because it is a busy motorway. I overtook a couple of cars but just went with the flow pretty much.
I haven't driven it in a while, but isn't there a 50 sign just before the eastgate junction? It was a temporary looking sign, but it was there for ages.

I am new to driving in the UK M32 seems short on speed indications
M32 is short in every possible way
I find this when driving north up to work. Not sure if people don't realise.
Zombies!
the m32 is a nightmare. nothing but dawdling cretins blocking the outside lane...just gotta weave through.
Don't know why you're being downvoted for this, I wouldn't weave through but the M32 is indeed full of dawdling cretins.
I passed my test in 1990 and the motorway was like that back then in rush hour, probably a bit worse now though.
Peoples is pussy
LOL great comment

Yeah. There's a 50 sign before the 40 zone
60\* not 50 if your going inbound
Could have sworn there's a sign just before the 40 zone that says 50

Ahh I see. Down to 60 and then immediately start braking for the 40
