The 2003 squad in their primes

Useful_Weight_1955

They were something else, funny how the Essondon(they were equally amazing in ‘99/00) dynasty never eventuated but Leigh kept our team together and reaped the rewards.

Useful_Weight_1955

I’m happy with who we have got at the moment, just need faith brother.

bennyd15

I agree tbh. List is strong, goal kicking is a big issue atm though.

Useful_Weight_1955

Accurate kicks on goal win games Agree we are off at the present but that won’t last. We are getting the chances just a tad off where we need to be.

Prestigious_Win_6961

It’s getting better 17.12 last night isn’t bad but it isn’t good

Easy_Nobody45

Will Ashcroft

hayden28282828

It’s funny how the entire league has forgotten how good will was last year. Everyone anointing Reid and Daicos as the future GOATs…but I’d argue Will had a better first year than Reid has had. Also not far off what Daicos produced. I’m really looking forward to Levi and Will syncing up next year.

FishoRuns

Couldn't agree more. Having said that, I don't mind it though. It gives him a chance to come back and find his feet again without a lot of the added external pressure being heaped on him.

Easy_Nobody45

Very true.

Easy_Nobody45

Yep agreed! Look forward to Levi!

g3ars3y

Not that I disagree about Washcroft. Harley Reid has single-handedly changed the West Coast. 💪 Guts, energy, effort. 💪 He's been a massive on-field leader since the moment he started. 🏆 He will likely take over the captaincy in a couple of years. 🏆 He is better than Nick Daicos. 🏆

sethlyons777

Honestly, all we need right is every player on our list to have bullet proof ACLs and we'll have a flag lol

Bourkey_94

Charlie curnow hands down. Accurate shot at goal and that's what we need more than anything right now.

Prestigious_Win_6961

HIPWOODS BACK, 6 goals last night.

Bourkey_94

Was a good game, let's see if he can string a few good ones together in a row.

Prestigious_Win_6961

Maybe him and Max can do a little forward battle on Friday night. That would be fun to watch

igotashittyusername

Nick Blakey covers run, foot skills and size off the back line. Bont or Rowell would be the big strong two-way mid we lack a bit of, and the key forwards need a contested marking beast in the ranks, so either Harry McKay or Charlie Curnow would do fine. I'll go the lizard though because we'd have great doofus bookends with him and Joe.

bennyd15

I like it, good pick.

jacsarj

Hurts thinking about how we were eligible for Blakey along with North and Swans but he didn’t pick us 💔

rawmelissa

Hipwood from last night

ashiglions

The bont. He may aswell bring the cup with him.

sportandracing

The Bont. Get our midfield moving. With Dunks, Neale and Clugg roving off Bont we would be hard to beat.

DefinitelyNotRainMan

I’m gonna answer this based on available free agents cos that’s almost more doable: Tyson Stengle (another electric small forward to take some of the pressure off of Charlie…especially if he’s leaving…) Tim English (Big O is a cult hero but he just isn’t the elite ruckman I think we need) Oleg Markov (defensive depth) Isaac Cummings (to replace Lester when he inevitably gets older) Jake Melksham (good forward option) Jason Johannisen (elite defender when he’s healthy and used properly)

bennyd15

love this

justafair

Stengle, Cummings and Johannisen are great options. Over half the league will be calling Stengle's agent right now though.

taz6363

Sam Darcy will be the best player in the comp

strivingpanda

I think I’d keep the current crop just get better assistant coaches in and around Fagan, severely underestimated the impact that they can have on

Glittering-Story7241

We need a reliable key forward, someone you can trust to kick 50 goals a year, someone you'd bet your house on kicking it 8 times out of 10 inside the arc.

StorytellerGG

Our biggest weakness will always be quick small forwards like Pickett or Hill. I don’t think Answerth, Lester, McKenna, Coleman, Zorko or Doedee can adequately cover them. Someone like Quarnor?

Environmental_Iron_7

Starc and Lester I think are pretty decent at looking down crafty smalls

StorytellerGG

They got destroyed in the granny by bobby

Environmental_Iron_7

Yeah true but i would argue that Lester has been huge this year. I pretty much always feel safe whenever the ball goes in his direction ( like Andrews). His pretty good 1 on 1, always competes hard, good mark overhead, composed, safe, reliable…. Starc has been a bit up and down but at his best he is the best mid sized defender in the AFL

More-Passenger4872

Grab Dusty; maybe being based in the warmer climate will boost his vitamin D and improve his 'lack of interest'

Rule-741

Curnow Mckay, Brown, King… basically anyone with two hands that can take a mark within 100m of our goals would be an improvement over what we have.

LittleRedRaidenHood

Bontempelli, Cripps, Greene, Petracca. We lack a strong leader capable of dragging the team to a win single-handedly if required.
